Blasphemy and Duck Rape

Superb argument. You asked me to elaborate, I did so and then you just respond like that. I reckon I'd be much more open to persuasion than hardcore atheists like MLG but not when you're so dismissive of someone who challenges you.

Fair point, my apologise. It's just when you call someone insane, you don't really expect them to listen with an open mind.

Well then I'm sorry I should have said you sound insane. I have no idea about your actual level of sanity though I would imagine you would have quite a bit in common with conspiracy theorists as that's what you remind me of. Lets be honest, you don't have any proof that so called prophecies are referring to the specific events of the 20th century, in the same way that followers of nostradamus have no idea that his similarly vague predictions have come true. They take events from the last couple of centuries and then use them to fit a narrative.

I think if Raging Bull was alive in 1654AD or 1836AD etc etc he'd be trying to shoe horn the same vague prophecies to events in the 17th and 19th century rather than the 21st century. The prophecies in the Bible are vague enough that people throughout the last 2000+ years have been trying convince themselves that it matches with the current time period.

Well this is something you'd need to look into yourself, rather than from me then.

May I suggest you head over to YouTube and search for the following pastors/people:

1. Jack Hibbs

2. Barry Stragner

3. Amir Tsarfati (ex Major of the Israel army)

They will give you a better understanding of it than I ever will.

Actually, it does mention Russia & Turkey. But I didn't think for a second you'd get it...

Anyway, here's a break down for you along with a quick intro, enjoy

Tubal and Meshech are mentioned together in Ezekiel 38:2. They were the 5th and 6th sons of Japheth, the son of Noah (Genesis 10:2). Some believe these people intermarried and became known as Magog, the dominant tribe. There are two main theories for their location: (1) RUSSIA and (2) TURKEY. Whichever it is does not change the overall picture as both are identified by the other names in Ezekiel.

(1) Regarding Meshech and Tubal, some assign a Russian identification, connecting these 2 nations with the modern Russian cities of Moscow and Tobolsk. Meshech - Moscow, and Tubal - Tobolsk. The first view became well known through the Scofield Study Bible: “That the primary reference is to the Northern powers headed by Russia, all agree. The reference to Meshech and Tubal (Moscow and Tobolsk) is a clear mark of identification.” Thus the name Moscow derives from the tribal name Meshech, and Tobolsk, the name of the principal state, from Tubal. This view is partly based on the similarity of sound in these names and their close proximity to Rosh (Russia). If this is so, the names Meshech and Tubal, point directly to Russia, being identified with Moscow, the capital of modern Russia, and Tobolsk in Asiatic Russia. Modern Tobolsk was founded in 1587 in western Siberia, and from there the Cossacks rode eastward to open up all of Siberia to Russian domination. Meshech and Tubal would then be names standing for Russia in Europe and Asia.

It is polite to reference your sources when quoting;

Well I agree with raging bull. To really understand something you need to look deeply into it, he clearly has, far more than a few people on a football forum that either dismiss it as being a a load of nonsense without bothering to research it or like MLG take everything absolutely literally and demand totally mental levels of proof without any level of open mindedness. And if it’s improved raging bulls life and stopped going down a bad path then even better, that is after all one of the byproducts of Living according to Bible principles.

Indeed it is, and I should've done so but I can't edit my posts.

That was just 1 of many things I've come across in the past when I've had questions of my own

Well this is true, but best guesses are that 1 day they won't be all that.

Really?

Don't you find it a little odd that the prophecy can mention Israel by name, can pinpoint the exact location, can describe the neighbours and the fact that they will gather on the Northern border whilst also mentioning about a stockpile of 21st century weapons but makes absolutely no mention whatsoever of one of the largest super powers of the time that have predominantly funded Israel AND supplied the weapons?

Surely you must find it a little strange that the prophecy can be so hugely specific about one thing but make no mention at all of something equally, if not more, important?

But I would get a similar response from flat earthers and 9/11 truthers. I don't have to watch hours of conspiracy videos on YouTube to know that there are not specific prophecies in the bible that unequivocally prove that events in the 20th and 21st centuries were predicted by passages in the bible. If those specific prophecies existed then we would all know about it and you would be earnestly posting them. It's the same response David icke gives to criticism by the way- unless you're willing to read all his books and attend his 9 hour lectures you can't offer valid criticism to his ramblings.

1) What 'mental level of proof' have I asked for?

2) If the evidence supports a God I would believe in its existence. I'm yet to see any convincing evidence. Do you have some?

3) 'Living according to Bible prinicples' ... like owning slaves? committing genocide? Being sexist and homophobic?

4) What issues could a person have that can only be overcome by turning to the Bible and not by secular means?

Pedantic sure! ;) But I am educated to Masters level, so to call me not very bright is nonsense. 'Human emotions' are to this topic and 'little understanding of intelligence' is meaningless nonsense.

Yeah I do find it strange, I'm not denying that and I have no idea why they aren't mentioned.

And Israel are mentioned so often and in the way they are because they're his people

Isaiah 49:15-16

Which is partly why everything centres around Israel today. The muslim countries surrounding them know this and hate them because of it.

What do you think open minded means? Because as I've stated a number of times, I will believe what ever the shows to be the case. If you provided me with some good evidence your God exists... I'd believe he exists. Do you have some?

Why? Don’t you it logical that if you want to understand something better you look into it deeply rather than dismiss it as nonsense because it doesn’t suit your social conditioning? MLG has got a masters so is capable of it. What’s illogical about saying good for RB if looking into the Bible has helped him take a better path in life? Just because we have different views of the world doesn’t mean either it’s wrong, being illogical or if all else fails try and say they’re on a wide up.

Believing in something without good supporting evidence is by definition illogical.

There is nothing I say I believe in that I don't have good supporting evidence.

Again, that's the exact same response I would receive if I made similar arguments to David icke. Do you consider it close minded to dismiss his theories about life being a global computer program controlled by neighbouring planets or reptilian elites controlling global politics? And I notice you haven't answered any of my other questions.

I don't necessarily disagree with the notion of a higher power in the autistic manner that MLG does, but I'm not going to pretend that specific prophecies about the 20th century exist when they quite clearly do not.

Religion is based on faith, not definitive supportive evidence. The way many humans react to things is based on emotion and feeling, not supporting evidence have scrutinized and weighed up all the facts. That’s why you’ll never understand,

Can you imagine MLGs fiancé coming into him wanting a good seeing too. All the evidence would need to be deeply scrutinized and weighed up before an informed decision based on comprehensive supporting evidence provided by her that intercourse would be a mutually beneficial experience.

And your evidence for that is?

Sure you'll say my posts on this forum, but what about them?

It's my opinion based in a long history where you take everything literally, appear to have little understanding of other's emotions and many of your replies seem robotic and lacking in emotion of any kind.

And living by faith is daft! Because...

1) Is there any position you can take that can't be based on faith?

2) If no then faith is not a reliable path to the truth... so what is the point?

The Bible doesn't have a forward saying 'do not take literally'.

What emotion do you think you can show on an internet forum?

What example do you have of me not understanding someone's emotion on this forum? It is a forum... not a conversation on the phone or face to face.

In your opinion living by faith is daft, because you have a conditioning that requires you to seek out what you perceive to be evidence. You have a very insular and arrogant view of the world Matthew,

This kind of post right here is yet more evidence for why many posters on here believe you to be on the austic spectrum. Many on the autistic spectrum have difficulty understanding emotions in others and a low emotional intelligence. Hth.

We live in a secular country. There is no compulsion to follow a religion of any sort, but there is freedom to follow whichever one you might choose to do.

Our queen is also the head of the Church of England, we have 4 bank holidays a year based around Christian festivals, our calendar is based on the Christian colander, people get married and buried in church’s.no, it’s not a Christian country.:mcinnes:
