Thread: Palace v Saints match thread

Long missed a sitter. Straight at the keeper when he should have been picking a corner. Ings would have buried it!

Hmmm. Not sure how 3 Saints players conspired to let Zaha get to that inside our area then TBH.

Then he'd have been a top 6 striker most of his career and wouldn't have been at Saints.

Funnily enough I did get a vague inkling that he thinks that we shojld get some new players. Did he ever answer Shroppie's question about the centre half?

MODs having a night off from making stuff sticky then!

Been following on SSN. Can the Zaha poke be revisited after the game? Zaha must really hate JWP especially after the match last January. From what Kammy is saying, it sounds like a comfortable 2 nil!

Can't imagine a better pair to wind up Zaha than JWP and Stephens. Only a matter of time. Amazed Hodgson hasn't done anything to change it up.

I'd give him 20 minutes for Long here.

If you mean McCarthy’s challenge, I’m ok with that kind of thing. It was aggressive but foot was down and he got the ball.

And me. I'm glad the ref is letting the game flow.

what a fantastic tackle from Bertrand. Anyone that thinks we can easily replace him, needs to check how he gets his distance spot on before doing a Bobby Moore.

Crazy and needless IMO. Dominating the game, wouldn’t be risking his hamstring on a cold Wednesday night after 60 minutes on the bench.

    Long off Ings on.

Connor Wickham on. Doesnt he usually score against is or have imagined that?

On Sky talking about JWP as MoTM for the way he's stifled Zaha. Great stuff.

Zaha doing his usual trick of being touched, stumbling and stopping before looking at the ref with his arms out.

JWP has been magnificent up against Zaha. I think the Cedric injury was a good thing for us. We needed Romeu to go toe to toe with their hard tackling players, and JWP has done probably a better job than Cedric would have done.

Someone should do a YouTube compilation of Long's misses, could be good for a laugh.

Thought it strange that Romeu hadn't got his card yet. Normal service now resumed.

I'm not suggesting Romeu didn't deserve that yellow, but given what the ref has let slide already tonight it's laughable really.

Zaha turns JWP with ease forcing Romeu to take a yella. Tough ask of JWP is this. I'm not as convinced as others on here.
