He did not say that. He said the directors are not aware of it, that does not mean Gao is not looking to sell. He may just not have told them.

Kruger was on £728k, getting a £92k payrise whilst working part time overseeing that shambles? Great work if you can get it.

That's nuts. He didn't do much and did it badly. The money we've wasted is scandalous. Any idea what Les was earning?

    Sell sell sell (more players)

Safe to say, we will keep our powder dry this summer and see what we can do in Jan!

Does it surprise you that we never bought in Jan? Or was it because saints web could not recommend a player?

I notice that TV revenue was down markedly as less games were covered, not a big surprise considering the crud we have served up over the last 4 years.

What sellables? Red Bull have no interest in us an no-one will pay 250m with our financial state

Obviously we need to get rid of Forster, Hoedt, Lemina, Carillo and the fellow on loan at Celtic who's name I can never spell.

That would be around £13/£15m of wages off the books (although perhaps half of this is being covered by their current clubs)

How much of the £70/£80m transfer fee expenditure is recoverable is debatable, possibly £30/£40m

However it could be lower than this but hopefully any revenue would eat into last seasons loss.

The other option is to sell one of our 'star' players like Danny Ings/JWP/Redmond etc

One thing seems pretty certain, any squad strengthening will be very limited.

If we survive in the Prem this year next year will be tortuous and season ticket sales will be well down which will have an affect on cash flow.

Without having new investment or a complete takeover it is only a matter of time before we eventually get relegated.

We will make a loss on all the players out on loan who are no wanted anymore and we won't invest in the squad anymore and probably rely on the youth set up for new players, hence the appointment of Matt Crocker.

You stand still for a few windows and it catches up with you eventually, look at Spurs.

Bleak times ahead without a new owner or fresh investment. Getting fed up with people slating others who have ago a Kat, she is to blame for this without question. She maybe related to her Father, but is noway a Saint!!

Surely wages aren't an issue we've been told on here lots of times that our wage bill isn't any different to all the other PL clubs?

We haven't cleared many off. They're on loan. We probably pay a huge chunk of their wages. That's been known, hence some people stating the obvious, namely that we can't bring in more players. We need to shift those on permanent contracts and rebuild with the resources that leaves us with.

Davis, Gabbiadibi, Cedric, Yoshida, Clasie, Austin, targett plus others I have probably missed, are gone

Throw in loan players where costs will be covered to a degree...

In that time we have signed 2 permanent signings, and told it was only because no fullbacks were available in jan was the reason why we never brought anyone in.

The sales will clearly continue in the summer, let alone bringing in the players we already need.

So does that mean that we are not " clearly "going down this season as you predicted after just 2 matches?

Everyone someone says those names I feel really sick and imagine Saints last summer without them with £100m+ spare to spend.

Sure we've cleared some, but not enough and more need selling or releasing - that's bloody obvious from the state of our finances.

Have you EVER got a prediction right? Positive or negative, on Saints or other teams?

It really doesn't seem like it. Saints are always going down, Everton are always amazing.

We are not in a dire financial position,” he stressed. “Our transfer liabilities – what we’ve got to payout – is bigger than the amounts we’ve got to receive. But we’ve got five very marketable players out on loan
LOL - these "very marketable players" proved impossible to shift in the last two windows, and aren't good enough to play for a team from the lower reaches of the Premier League. If that's his answer, then we are in a dire financial position.

Very marketable players that we couldn't sell last summer.

Likely that the market for players will collapse this summer with the Virus impacting football now. Chances of shifting Guido not looking good.

A lot of the problems are to do with not only poor recruitment, but when Reed and co were giving out massive contracts to reserve / young players with the hope they'd become international players and be worth 30-40 million. The only one it's really worked out with is JWP, although Stephens has done well recently too. I dread to think what others like Gallagher, Targett, Reed etc were / are earning for sitting on the bench / being subsidised for them playing for other clubs...

One of the worst things we ever did was extend forster's contract and then extend it again to a ridiculous length and make him one of our highest earners. Absolutely insane.

They wont show until the next lot of accounts though, only Davis (who was on loan with us paying a large % of his wages) and Gabbiadini will show for the period Jan-June in these accounts.

Les Reed should be held in lower esteem than Lowe. Said that for years and will keep saying it. We need another generous benefactor now.

Over paid players and priced out supporters. It will end in tears.

Shame the club didn’t tell Ralph who was lining up players to bring in during January. What a shambles.

Takes some skill to be as financially irresponsible as we have been and yet maintain the same ****e performance at the same time.

If we are going to go broke can’t we at least do a Leeds and go out in a blaze of glory?

I suspect they did but as the sales didn't happen, neither did the incoming players.

If they indeed did it was well into the window as, on more than once occasion, Ralph talked positively about strengthening in the FB areas in particular. Still a shambles whichever way it's dressed up.

So a club with a massive wage bill making significant financial losses, not spending £20m+ on a fullback we don’t need (I.e. there is no promotion or relegation hanging on our results) is a shambles?
