Default FUN GAME - Guess the Saints player!

    Hi Saints fans,

Fitzhugh Fella has made an excellent website with profiles of literally many Saints players on it. Here it is: https://www.saintsplayers.co.uk

I am going to post a snippet from the profile of a player and you have to identify the geezer in question. The first correct answer gets 5 benjii points. Incorrect answers which tickle me get 1 benjii point.

Lets start with an easy one:

Living in north-west London, he made national news in December 2019 when he was found guilty of exposure and performing a sex act on himself in front of a woman and her 16 year old daughter.

    Well done Colin's BJ.

    5 benjii points.

Ok, next one. This one is much tougher:

He could still lay on the most incisive of passes, and he had a shrewd footballing brain but when the tough got going he could also prognosticate and go missing.

(one reason why it's tough is because "prognosticate" doesn't seem to make sense in that context)

    Here's another one. Yala!

The manager could not have been more wrong. After starting just one game, during which he failed to impress and was substituted, [mystery man] was never seen in the Saints’ colours again

Ok, here's one for the ladies:

Fulfilling these roles with relentless energy and long blond locks, he was, inevitably, an eye-catching crowd-pleaser.

Did Barry Venison have long locks for us? He certainly had "roles" as a midfielder and full back.

Ali Dia didn't start a game, did he? Didn't he come off the bench?

Ok, this is a tough one.

Ten benjii points for anyone who gets this:

"By now, he was again a part-timer, living near Bristol and delivering parcels for UPS."

Rickie Lambert? Or was that a beetroot-packing factory?

Thinking of someone who was part time when we signed him. Don't tell Dunc but I haven't clicked on the site yet.

    An excellent effort. 110%.

Ok, last one for today. I will do a score update tomorrow and release further questions.

So, final for today. Brief one:

"[he] had once been the highest-paid player in Dutch football".

There's all to play for as we enter (fnar) day 2.

    Question numero, one:

It comes to something when your ghost-writer introduces your autobiography by declaring you to be a “charismatic lunatic”.
