The infrastructure and building blocks for a successful PFC future has, through the hard work of so many people associated with the club - Chairman, Directors, PST, Presidents and most importantly the fans that come and watch us week in week out - enabled the club to outperform on almost all areas over the amount originally budgeted for. - Catlin

When oh when are they going to stop bigging themselves up. How on earth can they boast they are "outperforming on almost all areas"? If I was a skate reading that I would be pretty angry but they seem to accept it with a whimper.

The self-delusion is doing them more harm than they realise.

Taken from a comment in The Snooze, this sums up the situation:

"Warnock's comments on talk sport says it all. A group of passionate yet amateur directors, lacking vision and funding, steering a catastrophic and sometimes comical charade into non league football."

So Warnock's off the managers list now then.

states.....As the club's debt continues to decline.

Have I missed something OR have they managed to hide or write off more debt.....:mcinnes:

I was under the impression that they had withdrawn from the Messi transfer due to lack of funds:D

Personally think the term....Economical with the truth...springs to mind:p

I liked this quote much more!

"football really is a results based business. For years and years the club financially has got it so spectacularly wrong, and yet since we moved out of administration and into fan ownership, due the restructuring and work being done off the field, we have got it so right"

If you can call near relegation out the FL 'getting it so right in a results based business'. Personally I would associate 'getting it right' with having paid off debts, buying players and being near the top of the division.

Wonder what odds I can get that it wont be any of them?

What a brilliant list. A few ex international managers along with a smattering of ex Premier League managers.... hmmm very likely for a team which is very possibly going to be non league next year.

There will be no recovery, no march up the leagues for Pompey until there is an acceptance that they are in League 2 because they are c rap and that League 2 or even non league football is their appropriate level. Until they respect the league they are in, they will not start to move upwards. Managers like Hoddle , Zola and Mckay wouldn't be seen dead at a club where the natives get restless at a 0 - 0 draw and the last 2 mangers have lasted no more than 20 games.

Mind you , I am loving it. Let them live in their fantasy world. I think their current plight is hilarious. I am loving every minute of it.

Unbelievable. They are so deluded it's frightening. Warnock nor any of the others would touch P****y with a barge pole. The reason Andy Awful is doing it is because no-one else would go anywhere near the place.

Warnock, like he would go there!

What a complete and utter shambles that club is, just a mention of the word "portsmouth" on the radio now has me laughing.

It's like watching a slow motion car crash and I get the feeling we are approaching the part when the crash test dummie's ass goes through his face and into the windscreen.

Sad to see the bestest fans in the uk arguing with each other .

I was always optimistic this thread would reach 100k threads . We are so close . I say we should reach that within the next Stevan weeks if not sooner

Who's going to be the 100000th though?

That's just where you're wrong. They were looking for an "impact manager" as that's what they need right now. And it clearly stands to reason that a chap who's been at the club as long as anyone can remember, and who took the reins with a planet-juddering impact for two whole games earlier this season, must be that man.

We knew we needed an impact manager, there was no point looking at someone who could maybe turn it around next year

The next bit should have read... "but we completely failed in that respect as everyone we spoke to just laughed at us so we turned to Andy Awful instead as he's the only person we know who has a worse record than Richie Barker as pompey manager"

Brighton view on all things skate. Worth reading posts over last 24 hours, remarkably similar to here!

I appreciate that this post on Brighton was a few days ago but this thread is moving so fast that it is difficult to keep up. (see what I did there).

I used to believe in the stereotype that NSC was full of Poyet loving gayboys but clearly not. Their thread contains some great posts. They are fans of Rallyboy (not surprising as the man is a genius) but they have some good posters of their own. The comments on Pompey's likely attendance at Newport today are well worth a read.

It is nice to seethat nut jobbery isnot confined to our part of the south coast.

How the hell on gods green earth did they expect to sign someone of Warnock's standing in the game? They're in league 2, no pot to **** in and starring relegation in the face no manager with any reputation would touch them with a barge pole the best they could have hoped for was another league 2 boss or a up coming non-league manager.

In fairness MK Dons have got the sort of facilities that pompey could only dream of and these days the players to:lol:. The Dons had a better stadium than fat pipes when they used to play at the national hockey stadium.....

...and the article reckons that they then decided to look elsewhere. Perhaps Warnock jumped at the chance of managing them but then they decided that Awford was the better manager and they decided to reject Warnock for Awford.....

or perhaps not.

I think the HNW's have played an absolute blinder so far. They have identified an asset, and have acquired it. No not PFC but Nottarf Crap. They have done this using more of the publics money than their own. Having acquired the asset they have managed to persuade the council to relinquish the covenant over that land. It is now worth far more than they paid for it. They have also by careful positioning of adjoining land, trapped that asset making the development of the asset impossible for the sitting tenants. All the have to do now is to get rid of the sitting tenants. By placing a succession of their own men in control of PFC they have brought the current tenants to the brink of brankruptcy. With just a little more incompetency over the next few weeks their new man in control will have completed the task, PFC will no longer exist, and they will have a fat juicy bit of prime building land for sale... Brilliant.

P.S. Although I read this thread most days I rarely post. Does that make me a junior nut-job, or is the a socialist thread where we are all equal members in the pleasure gained from our neighbours anguish.

The mental state of Nutjobbery is more of a curse than a group that you belong to, so Landford, you are a sufferer like the rest of us.

You have made the bravest step, standing up and finally admitting it to yourself that you have a problem.

That obsessive looking at the thread, the following of bizarre links, all those balance sheets, the laughing out loud to yourself at the oddest things - how many years of your life has been lost in here? :scared:

Yes, you have learned a great deal about legal and financial matters and even how to construct a paragraph of more than eight words, but it has to stop.

Sadly Nutjobbery has spread to the east now, Brighton is reporting an increase in cases.

Someone needs to do something, perhaps we could have a fundraiser to research the disease - and in the true spirit of the genre, we could pretend to hand over a cheque to someone who needs it but we could keep the cash and spend it on prossies!

Newport's website is encouraging the Skates today with a "big crowd" and "eagerly anticipated game" article.

It does say however that 4,000 are expected. That would be fewer than Newport got at home for Accrington and Bristol Rovers. :)

I think the only cure will involve excision at the source.

Aka the death of PFC around page 2000.

I think that would be because most of the visiting supporters will clearly be gathering in huge numbers on the IoW today, thinking it's almost a home game for them ... :uhoh:
