It just gets worse for Trump; QAnon alignment by himself indirectly (I know they like me), various other far right looms on Fox and social media forming more birther fake news about Harris and now Bannon, who was pivatol in him getting him elected charged with some serious fraud in relation to a policy cornerstone https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-53853297

I don't know him. I think, maybe I met him once. Or he met me. Probably he met me... you know he says I'm tremendous.  He likes me very much. So probably he met me maybe once. And we're doing really good,  great things. People are saying it's great, what you're doing. It's good. But I don't know him.

Burgess Owens, a former NFL player running as a Congressional candidate for the Republicans, likens the Democrats to the Nazis;

I can't believe this thread exists on a football team social website. I love the U.S. generally but their political landscape and leadership is very poor at the moment regardless of who you support.   Where's a mid-40's credible candidate (black, white. hispanic, male, female, whatever - who cares)?  I personally don't believe in rampant nationalism in a world where it takes about 36 hours or so to get from the arctic to the antarctic.

Sorry what the fuck are you on about?  Have you just stumbled into the lounge?

Not sure how to read this (you don't need to swear). America's got some serious problems and desperately needs somebody to lead them out it (with respect, not the current President and neither the elderly Democratic nominee). Chanting the moronic nationalistic jingo "Make America great again" also isn't it. And yeah, just stumbled into the lounge and about to check out.

It's all part of the plan. Give the electorate no decent choice, so we end up with a worldwide bunch of useless leaders. Then the new workld order will have the excuse to impose martial law, curfews and other totalitarian rules, because we will beg them too, what with all the riots etc. Problem - Reaction - Solution. They want a totaliarian state, worldwide. They create the riots and the problems, knowing we will beg them to keep us safe and give us a solution.

I suspect there is a bloke in Russia who likes that idea and has been executing a similar strategy with his puppets in the Oval Office and having decoupled the UK from the EU. Makes you laugh hearing those muppets at the RNC banging on about patriotism when Trump allegedly discussed bounties on the heads of troops with Putin. The Labour left long have had links to Russia and alleged influence as well.
Coronavirus is a separate issue but creates further opportunities for Putin and others - China, Trump - for those wanting to shut down open democratic societies.

Trump wants to stop "equality and diversity training", saying it is "divisive anti- American propaganda". Of course he is correct; for many white Americans their values mean other 'races' are there to be exploited, and in the case of the original locals, their land is there for the taking.

I don't mind the sort of "diversity training" that explains a bit about the differences between people's culture or religion, so that we might all get on a bit better in the workplace for example.  Education really....that's fine.  When you start introducing employment quotas and targets is where it goes wrong for me.  Offers should be based on merit, nothing more.

If people from certain groups of society aren't flourishing, look to find out why that is.  Try to improve things so that they can.

I think I'd ban pushing the "white privilege" agenda too.  Far too simplistic and divisive in itself.  Plenty of white people are disadvantaged.  Plenty of "people" are disadvantaged.

Pony. Complete pony.

Its not “many” Americans. They’re just as decent and tolerant as any European Country. The sneering at white America is ill informed and lazy. You’ll find a higher percentage of decent tolerant white folks in America as you ever will in Eastern Europe.

If you look at critical race theory and what it is the Trump administration is attempting to get rid of then it's a brilliant thing and he should be applauded. We should do the same thing here.

I recently heard an interview of somebody who was recovering from COVID. She said her health was nowhere what it was. It's not just the fatalities - even people who "recover" (ie don't die from it) are still going to have long-term health issues that will also cost the taxpayer.  The death rate does not tell the full story by a long way.

It's amazing that some people still need the obvious explaining to them.

I expect the brief the illustrator received for that was something like: Design a simple graphic to explain to right-wing fuckwits the benefits of wearing a mask.

That's a pretty sweeping generalisation!

So it's only 'right wing' fuckwits that don't wear masks, right?  What about all the protesters not that long ago not wearing masks - all right wing I guess :mcinnes:

Obviously not everyone who doesn’t wear one is right wing but I was just thinking of the outrage of the Trump supporters and some Tory wack-job MPs over here who think wearing a face covering for a few minutes while shopping is a  “monstrous imposition”.

I guess the concept of putting up with a slight inconvenience for the good of others and society as a whole is hard to grasp for some on the right.

US President Donald Trump has been nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize. Norwegian far-Right politician Christian Tybring-Gjedde made the nomination following a “historic peace agreement” between the United Arab Emirates and Israel. The leader also praised Mr Trump for resolving other protracted conflicts worldwide and said he has made "tremendous efforts" in brokering peace. “For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees,” Mr Tybring-Gjedde told Fox News.

Perhaps Trump could bring these "tremendous efforts" in brokering peace to the domestic situation in the United States--instead of inciting violence and fomenting conflict.

This just in:

" ... a wrinkle in this time-honored process — the peace prize was first awarded in 1901 — emerged on Tuesday, when the committee announced that it had uncovered what appeared to be a forged nomination of President Trump for the prize. The matter has been referred to the Oslo police for investigation."

Perhaps you had a disconnect in your own mind when you posted this?

Surely you should have said it is hard to grasp for some on the right and left given your first statement?

I am amazed this virus is so clever though. I mean, it can get you in a group of 7 but not a group of 6. It can get you on a plane, butnot when you take your mask off to eat.  Just amazing.

Do you people really believe this guff. Lol.

"I've been complaining very strongly about the ballots," Mr Trump said. "And the ballots are a disaster."

"Get rid of the ballots, and you'll have a very - you'll have a very peaceful - there won't be a transfer, frankly, there'll be a continuation."

As George Galloway said on  Sunday. The Democrats have done exactly the same as they did last time. Once again they’ve  picked the only candidate that Trump has half a chance of beating.

It is bizarre that they've come up with someone even older than him.

Trump is mentally and physically impaired due to degenerative age-related conditions and they've kind of taken those issues off the table.

I’d wait and see what the result is. Biden ticks loads of boxes with Trump voters.
Do you think Warren, Sanders or mayor Pete would stand a better chance?

Trump is impotent against Biden cos all he can say is sleepy and trying to paint him as radical left is patently failing. And Trump is a cunt who can’t speak, hold a cup with one hand or get off a fucking plane.

Just hope Biden doesn’t fuck up the debates but apparently doing well when primed.

I'd say that Biden is even worse in many ways. Absolutely incredible that they've even given him a chance. If you'd picked someone half normal and relatively competent (and male tbh) then they'd have won. The fact its still up in the air is a damming indictment of the Democrat party regardless of the result.

In terms of being impaired by age.

Are you serious?

Trump can't walk far, can't stand up straight,  can't hold a glass with one hand, has involuntary arm jerks, slurs, jacked-up pupils, morbidly obese (that's not necessarily age-related but it's not going to help his balance and gait) etc.

He's an absolute mess wand in 4 years' time he'll be a dribbling, incontinent wreck, probably much sooner. If he wins and they don't acknowledge he's a wreck, he will face-plant at an event at some point and it will be funny as fuck.

Biden seems a bit slow when it comes to choosing his words sometimes but physically he's not exhibiting the degenerative neurological decline that Trump is.

There's partisan stuff on both sides but it's not really the point I was making. Absolutely no idea why the Democrats chose someone like Joe Biden regardless of what the opponent is like. Absolutely crazy.

You said Biden was worse. I can't see any evidence for that at all. It's not "partisan" to see a video of Trump spasming, struggling and tottering and concluding he's got problems. I haven't seen anything like that relating to Biden who seems capable of jogging and riding a bike but occasionally a bit clumsy with words.

Whoever the Democrat candidate was Hypo would find a way of championing Trump over them without ever saying as much. Clear where all these guys’ sympathies lie.

Complete nonsense I'm afraid. I'm wary of some of the agenda coming from the likes of AOC but if they'd chosen someone like Tulsi Gabbard or Andrew Yang then I'd have said the American public would be mad not to elect them over Trump. Both of them had some odd policies but they wrre so clearly superior to Trump in a way that Biden just isn't. I still think Biden will win by the way but it wouldn't be a surprise if Trump did it again would it.

I am also surprised that Trump is going to face somebody older than himself and that the Democrats couldn't have found somebody younger. Biden however as Obama's Veep has the advantage of being well known to the American voting public.  Trump is trying to portray him as a radical extremist but it is difficult for him to get this mud to stick when it is addressed at such a well known , elderly opponent.

Imagine the fun Trump would have had slinging mud and extremist tags at opponents like Sanders and Warren.

Don’t know Tulsi Gabbard but as said Biden appeals to rust belt and other blue collar voters who have moved to Trump. About ousting him rather than having some you dynamic progressive.

Should have gone for Michelle Obama

The main issue for me is not just the figurehead but what other crazy policies you are letting in. Both sides have their fair share in that regard but I am supportive of some of the steps the trump administration has done such as the middle East peace deals and removing critical race theory from schools. I don't have confidence that that will continue under Biden. I also detest a lot of the identity politics stuff and the anti white racism and I can only see that getting worse under the Democrats although admittedly kamala Harris seems marginally better in that regard than actual nutters like some of the other potential vp picks like Elizabeth Warren. Presumably you'd only get 4 year out of Biden anyway and then the republics may appoint a more moderate candidate with more of an idea of what he's doing.

I also can't stand the idea of dynasties that has infected American politics for some reason. The very fact that America has has a succession of presidents or candidates aspiring to be presidents all from the same handful of families is insane. They do things oddly over there.
