See GM who still doesn’t understand the difference between illegal immigration and freedom of movement, except that it gets him very angry as further evidence.

You are sounding more and more like your fellow alumni from Taunton's, Benny Hill. Just to be clear, I referred to "freedom of movement and uncontrolled immigration". Rye you not risten?

I would have said uncontrolled immigration gives rise to illegal immigration, wouldn't you? Michael Gove had the same concerns as me, as reported this week:

One of the principal lessons of the Brexit referendum was the desire of the British people to end freedom of movement and bring immigration under democratic control. Labour is now explicitly in favour of unlimited and uncontrolled immigration. It would mean massive pressure on public services — creating a shortage of school places, putting a huge strain on the NHS and increasing demand for housing. It would also mean Britons are less safe, as a Corbyn-Sturgeon alliance wouldn’t put in place the controls necessary to stop criminals crossing our borders.

Back on ignore, Gavin. You're an irrelevant unprincipled champagne socialist, who on the 13th December, will be whining like a b!tch....

Proving my point again: freedom of movement is not the same as uncontrolled immigration. Freedom of movement is subject to a host of conditions and controls. Here’s another quote from a government whip, summarising the relevant parts of the Free Movement Directive.

Where admission is permitted, an EU citizen may remain in the UK for up to three months from the date of entry, provided they do not become a burden on the social assistance system of the UK.

If an EU citizen does not meet one of the requirements for residence set out in the Directive [employed, self-employed, self-sufficient, student] then they will not have a right to reside in the UK and may be removed.”

3+ years and pompey poly’s second most famous graduate still struggles with the basics. To paraphrase Johnny Rotten, ever get the feeling you’ve been cheated?

A question... If people go back on ignore when do they come off ignore so that they can go back on ignore??

I can see why he flunked his A levels but are all Pompey Poly's graduates as thick as him?

I haven't read the posts above, from the usual trolling stalkers, a poster with an intellect like mine inevitably attracts, but, regardless, I can guarantee that the Conservative party will triumph, as a decent majority of the electorate will share my views and vote accordingly. I look forward to the morning after the GE to read the losers' posts. It'll be just like the Brexit referendum all over again...

Not so sure. Think he's been made an escape goat, and is now like a bowl in a China shop trying to get votes. Right from the gecko it was obvious this election was going to be doggy dog. Think it will all end up a damp squid.

*pram

'Escape goat' lol

So Labour are going to close the gender pay gap. They continue to alienate people who want to see common sense fairness in society not these virtue signalling idiots thinking they can fine companies to get equality.

I wonder if English is his first language.

A comma after but. Clearly he missed out on the grammar classes at his posh school.

Inverted commas on "but". I'll accept it if your school was inferior..

No.It was superior actually.

Superior to King Edwards? Do tell, so that we can form our own judgement. I'm surprised that you didn't place the inverted commas on the quoted word then.

But I'm being petty, as you were, criticising grammar on a football forum. :p

Another King Edwards .... in a much larger city.

You are right about the pettiness of a football forum. I am sure that if there was ever a Saintsweb get together 80% /90% of us would get on fine with each other. The anonymity of the forum leads to the pettiness .... but it is fun isn't it.

Mind you .... I am sure that at any get together there would be a queue of people wanting to get a peek at that Guided Missile oddball.

Labour are unelectable, QED. Interesting, but not really a surprise as, regardless of what the parties might claim, this GE is all about Brexit, and many 'working class' areas voted leave.

And the middle class support for Labour is largely derived from metropolitan champagne socialists I suspect, mostly remoaners.

You think that the gender pay gap is ok? Surely it is basic discrimination?

The wage gap is simply the average earnings of men and women working full time. It does not count for different job positions, hours worked or different jobs. It has nothing to do with the same job. It has nothing to do with discrimination.

That does not mean that discrimination does not exist, but simply publishing the hap between the earnings of men and the earnings of women is wildly simplistic.

Part of the reason I couldn't vote for them. If they can't see through the gender pay gap, what hope is there for the rest of the economy.

Surprising I haven't head of any 'affirmative action' shortlists in this election yet!

Rupert Lowe stands down as Brexit Party candidate in Dudley North, in order not to split the Tory vote and allow the Marxist to become PM.

It's quite a good measure of how much someone hasn't thought for themselves when they mindlessly parrot stuff about the gender pay gap. You're quite right that any candidates for elected office who talk about it are either thick or deliberately lying and are best avoided whatever their political affiliation.

There is no discrimination. It’s against the law to pay a bird less than a bloke doing the same job, that’s all that’s needed. All this gender pay gap is a load of pony.

Only it isn’t. How would you feel if you were a “bird” and you were paid less than a bloke for doing the same job?

Janet Street Porter, of all people, did make me question myself recently though. Her point was that in Supermarkets, store room staff get paid more than till workers. Store room staff tend to be male and till workers female. Both are unskilled jobs. Is that fair?

I'm not sure but at the end of the day I figured it's the market that decides the rate, not prejudice. And of course, there's nothing to stop a woman working in the store room or a man on the till, should it suit him.

Personally I'd take the store room job, whether it was better paid or not.

Depends on why. If it was performance related and there was a robust, fair and consistent framework I’d have no issue at all. If it was because I was a 9 Pinter, I’d take legal advice.

Some blokes get paid more than other blokes doing the same job, because they’re better at their jobs or better at negotiating their salaries. Is that discrimination?

I know you lefties want everybody paid the same, but in the real world they’re not.

Just seen the Liberal Democrats Party Political Broadcast which featured Jo Swinson jogging the streets in her gym gear.

I have to say that I am very impressed with her fantastic support.

No, it isn't "basic" discrimination, it's merit-based discrimination. It's because women take more career breaks, more time off and generally make different choices to men which often put them at a career disadvantage. If you can find me a company which systematically pays a man more than a woman for the same entry-level job I would be astonished.

Merit based? So men have more merit than women? Surely it doesn’t come down to anything other than two people doing the same job should get the same money?

Wupert obviously wasn’t very confident of attracting many Labour voters then

A majority of 22, a Leave constituency, previous labour MP advising people to vote Tory , he’s has just handed the seat to Boris on a plate. Arise Sir Rupert.
