Seriously, forget him! He offers nothing. Let' Hull Suffer his crapness.
S-clarke is a great proponent of Sadio Mane. Crafty, pacy winger according to S-clarke.
Pretty clearly, Gaston is a hundred times the player that Mane is, and yet Mane either plays or is on the bench because we are running out of fit and non-banned options.
Still, there's no better laugh than seeing Mane swing and miss, or kick his own foot and fall over! Or juke a player and leave the ball behind. What a wonderful way to spend 10 million quid!

JayRod
in The Saints
You should have let the player himself know all that back in the summer http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11661/9358465/premier-league-southamptons-jay-rodriguez-plots-return-from-injuryAs we all know, JRod is a qualified Orthopedic surgeon.

Mane
in The Saints
Well, I'm still happy to defend him, when he hits a run of form he'll be blowing past people for fun and sticking undefendable crosses into the box. He's a confidence player though, and he does have some awful touches. I'm not holding my breath for a "run of form" to be honest, but I understand why he's still getting picked. He's a bit wider for us than he was at RB Salzburg when he was scoring for fun though, many of those goals came from an inside left position, haring past stretched defences. He SHOULD be an outlet for us to counterattack, but we don't seem to do much of that any more.
Some of his stop-start running leading to unnecessary offsides, and insistence on cutting inside and passing to Wanyama against Man U almost every time has been annoying me though.
But I think part of it has come from better teams cutting off the ability for Bertrand to overlap though, massively reduces his options. Oh, and obviously it now turns out he's a bit of a disciplinary gamble too - but he hasn't actually been sent off... yet.
SNIP
And he's still at least worth £9m more than Mayuka, I don't understand why they're getting lumped in together.
I hope you're joking.

Stop making yourself look an idiot, it will bite you.
21000 posts and every one of Mane quality. Keep it up S-clarke.

. Mane has talent, .
I have watched every minute of every game, so please, point out what it is that qualifies the statement that Mane has talent. Point me to a game where he has looked even League 2 standard.
-
Contrary to what some have said, Pelle had a good game today. Sure he missed a couple of opportunities but they were not easy.
I just don't get why Koeman lets Mane near the bench let alone a starting position. I would take ANYONE over him, he is Conference level at best. The Charlie Chaplin of the premier league.
Tadic has become invisible, that is a real disappointment.
Our problem is a paper thin squad, we need some reinforcements come January, perhaps not world beaters but two or three solid premiership level professionals would make all the difference.
We're settling down to our level now, second was fun but not sustainable with the small squad that we have.

Mane
in The Saints
How funny, all you hypocrites who criticised the heck out of me for stating how poor Mane was a couple of weeks ago are now jumping on the bandwagon.
Yes, he's probably the worst player to pull on a Saints shirt since Ali Dia.
Absolutely no touch.
Keystone Kops ball control
Never beats his man - well, sometimes HE does, but the ball is left behind.
His pace is almost irrelevant since he runs up to the defender then slows the game down or stops completely.
Seeing his "shots" almost hit the corner flag is embarrassing.
Shane Long is a real footballer, this guy is 10 million flushed down the toilet.
-
Of course this is probably the first time most of you have actually seen him play given the paucity of games shown on UK telly. The radio doesn't reflect how laughable some of his attempts on goal have been. This is not his first poor game, he's been poor in every game but sing "Kumbaya" if you wish.
-
The second coming of Ali Dia.
My God what a dreadful performance tonight, his finishing is Southern Conference level at best. Can't pass, can't shoot, no positional sense at all. Fed up seeing him on his @rse after shanking yet another shot. The worst player on the pitch yet again today.
The worst $10M we've spent since Ramirez (who's not a bad player but not worth the money), and Osvaldo (who's not a bad player, just a head case).

Unlike Boruc, Forster doesn't mess around with the ball in the box.
Distributes it quickly and efficiently. Doesn't attempt to make the difficult pass when an easier pass is available. GKs need to get it to the players paid to play the game with their feet and get back in the damn 6 yard box.
You just admitted on another thread that you only get to watch Liverpool games where you are. Your statements confirm that you haven't seen any - or many- Saints games this season. If you had, you'd know that Forster's distribution is POOR. Just like it was at Celtic in fact. In a league with Kelv and Boruc I would say.
-
His kicking is way better than Boruc
HAve you seen any of the games? His distribution is quite poor. I'd say no better than Boruc. I'm not convinced on Forster so far. I'd like to be proved wrong.

Since Liverpool is on TV every damn week here in the US, they get to be the team I make a point to sit, watch, and root against.
Saints are on TV every damn week too. At least on every cable and satellite provider I'm aware of. You must be using an aerial or summat?

Happy for Pardew. OK, he's a bit of a "Jack the lad" with his potty mouth and chasing women but he was a good manager for us and a good manager for Newcastle up till recently (manager of the year two years ago).
Plus he's made Pochettino look stupid......
-
It's not long ago (after we beat Millwall) that Wurzel Gummidge stated that in no way were we good enough for the Premier League.
Second place? Amazing!

Adkins
in The Saints
Ran off?Completely the opposite,I stood my ground and remained truthful to myself in my opinion on him.
I still do to this day.
Just because it flys in the face of most on here it upsets people.
Nevermind eh.

I suppose the most creditable, and only intelligent comment in your post is the bit at the end about tapatalk.
What an absurd position to take. The man takes us up two divisions in two years and you don't consider him a top manager? You should stick to watching darts.

Anyone have inside info on whether JayRod still wants out of Southampton?
-
Stop living in the past. Rickie was fabulous for us, but he is well and truly washed up now. I wouldn't take him back on a free and his new wages.
-
Maybe you've all been listening to the games on the radio, but Forster's distribution is not very good. I believe Celtic fans had issues with his kicking too, so it's not a new phenomenon. I agree that Forster is not the kind of player who would try to out Cruyff a leading International Center forward, or who would watch while a 950,000 yard hoof bounces over his head into the net BUT he looks distinctly dodgy and indecisive from time to time.
-
It's a real shame. We need a quality back up GK, or maybe better phrased as "two quality GK to compete for the jersey". Yes, we got Forster but we are losing Boruc, so only a marginal improvement and no still missing a quality second keeper. We'll have to see if RK sells Boruc and buys again, or just leaves KD as the backup.
I'm not sure Forster is any improvement at all, he has looked quite dodgy at times, I wish the real story behind Boruc's fall from grace were told.

Sh!t, My bad.
Your bad what?

Unbelievable Jeff appears somehow to have missed your sage comment on Bertrand's loan signing . "Rubbish signing" or words to that effect if I recall correctly.
The intelligent way to go about expressing an opinion about a signing is to by all means express disappointment or misgivings, but to cover your arse with caveats like we'll have to wait and see how he fits into the team/see how he plays for us. Then when it is shown that he has been a really good addition to the team, you are able to say something along the lines of you had your doubts, but you are delighted that they were unfounded, instead of being reminded about how wrong knee-jerk decisions can turn out to be and how idiotic they look in retrospect.
At the time of his signing, despite the outward appearance of a desperate situation, some thought had to be given to why Bertrand was selected as Shaw's replacement and unless one knew his thinking on it, some benefit of the doubt had to be given to Reed, because events have proved his decision to be sound.
You can't blame hypo - he was posting on his phone.

I feel I've let you all down.
Well, you showed up on the forum so that's a fair bet.

It's not the same pulling on that Man U Physio shirt as somewhere like Southampton.
I heard that he'd been dreaming of physio-ing for ManU since the middle of last year, "I wonder what it would be like to walk into the atmosphere of that treatment room".
We'll probably hear that he was tapped up by Luke Shaw prior to his move.
I hope we can survive this calamity.

I don't get this love fest with Chambers.
He's an donkey. Absolutely no pace whatsoever. We mugged Arsenal for 16mil. I'd pay a small fee to have him back as cover for Clyne, but that's it.
I wouldn't have any of them back other than for nominal sums and low wages. I wouldn't have Rickie back at all. Legend? Yes, but now well over the hill.

You hadn't heard of this guy before this thread started (nor had I) and yet you've already decided that he's just what we need?
