Just to be clear, i don't think anyone thought Carillo looked promising at any point.

Out of 6 goals for JWP, there were at least two free kicks and one penalty, none of which he will get to take for England.

 

If he can play like he has recently for a whole season, he might push his way into Southgate’s plans. Until then he is just another Jeffers, Nugent or Ricketts, having his 15 mins in the sunshine.

You say that, but if he's on the pitch and we get a free kick just outside the box I wouldn't be surprised to see the team happy to let him have a crack at it given his recent efforts.

Sadly that's the one. Both played for England age groups, as well as their sister who also plays for Saints and England.

Brilliant, love the attitude of Ralph, he's clearly a big personality. The organisation of the team is night and day difference, everyone clearly knows their job and the lack of moaning on the pitch was clear to see as well. So happy right now!

It is still striking how quickly Poch was able to convey his ideas to the squad - the change was evident as early as the everton game. Perhaps Hasenhuttl will be similarly fortunate, though unlike Poch, he's inheriting a squad that's devoid of confidence.

Thank god for that, I've got an early start tomorrow, so glad that there isn't any reason to watch the second half.

Hard to know what to say anymore, to be honest I feel quite apathetic about the rest of the season, can't even get worked up about it anymore. The main problem from where I'm sat though has still not changed, you could have any superstar manager in the world in charge right now and we'd still struggle, the side is completely devoid of natural goalscorers. That falls on Reed and the recruitment team, although Pellegrino should feel embarrassed for obviously recommending our new Sunday league striker.

Maybe we don't have a spare £35m sitting in the bank and we'd have to break our 'living within our means' operating model to make this deal happen?

This, I highly doubt we have that much liquid cash available to transfer instantly.
