Switched to 433 for a while. Really like the tactical flexibility in games.
I’ll admit to still learning the subtleties of football, but why don’t more teams do this more often? I liken it to switch defenses in basketball from man-to-man to different type of zone defense in an attempt to confuse the opponent and foil their offensive plan that is predicated on you playing a specific formation. It wouldn’t have to be done often or for long. But if you can get the opponent spending time trying to figure out what formation you are playing, I think it would help. Is there a reason that this is a bad idea, e.g. lack of player skill flexibility to execute different formations?
Thanks for assisting in my education.

I saw this on the web. Anyone have any more info? This would seem a bold move. With the injury concern, the "try before you buy" approach of a half-season loan seems prudent.

Anyone have one of the Veho Saints Bluetooth speakers? How does It sound? Is it well built? For $15, I didn't think I could go too far wrong, so I ordered one. At a minimum, I'll be showing the Saints brand here in Minnesota.
Cheers!

Welcome to the club, good to have you. But be careful not to believe this forum represents a normal cross section of the fanbase..... There are quite a few odd-balls on here.
No worries... I've got plenty of experience with oddballs from my time on the forums (fora?) for my local university basketball & American football teams. It's par for the course on a Internet boards.

Been speaking to speaking to some Americans, and they've said you have two types of 'soccer' fan in America.
1) Eurosnobs - Only interested in the big clubs in Europe, and do not follow MLS.
2) MLS fans - They follow their MLS club and generally take a wider interest, apparently.
I received this message today, from a Chicago-based MLS fan.
"We just had a documentary, "The Southampton Way", run on NBC Sports here in the states. The youth and scouting systems are remarkably similar. Good luck to the Saints this year. I hate Chelsea, Man U, and Man City and love you're giving them hell."
That's probably not far from the truth, we do tend to me homers or like to follow perennial winners. But I'm with the person you quoted.
I've never liked big spending, arrogant teams, both here in the Colonies and across the pond. So, when I went looking for a Premiership team to support (once I could watch on NBC Sports), I was delighted to find Saints! The club's history and approach of building players in their system ha many similarities to my local baseball club, the Minnesota Twins. Even the fan attitudes seem amazingly similar, so I feel at home.
I loved The Southampton Way! It was great to see behind the scenes. It reaffirmed me choice of Saints. Now, if only I could find more Saints fans here in Minnesota!
Cheers!

Thanks! Your explanation makes sense and I agree that you do need to take into account your player capabilities. I wasn’t thinking of constantly changing, but maybe moving from the 4-2-2-2 to a 4-3-3 or maybe a 4-2-3-1 or something for a bit and then changing back. Something where you only need to move one or two players. It would certainly take communication so that all players know what to do.
