if half of europe are chasing him then that surely doubles the price?

If i were him i'd consider a move to Germany done wonders for plenty of other young english players.

From a footballing viewpoint I agree, but if he couldn't settle at Chelsea I'm not sure how moving to Germany would work out for him.

I thought you were an oxford fan who came with aggression but your username put me at ease...

Charles is a pretty decent player I reckon. Was not worth anything like the money we paid for him last year and is still very young but has another year of experience. He was never going to displace Downes in our team who was probably the best in the championship in that position but I thought he held his own and was a reasonable alternative when required. Good passer of the ball, composed and can carry the ball, can tackle and will be a really decent signing for a newly promoted team. Quite a classy loan signing for a newly promoted club I would have thought.

I agree. There's a decent player in Charles and a loan with Oxford would do him and Oxford good.

No sign of mine yet, 2 days left. I am not going to go to the ticket office as a result of their incompetence on Sunday. I will demand and expect a refund should it not arrive tomorrow or saturday.

You’re going to give up your season ticket if you haven’t got the card for the first game?

Doesn't seem very smart of the premier league to taint their brand by having any of this confusion around black lives matter and the organisation. Particularly when they have a perfectly good anti racism initiative that didn't suffer from a PR problem and is much less likely to get people's backs up.

The Premier League dropped the use of the 'Black Lives Matter' slogan in the summer and swapped it for their own 'No Room for Racism' message. There were various reports last month that they were trying to distance themselves further from the 'Black Lives Matter' campaign whilst still supporting any teams/players that want to take the knee before matches as an anti-racism message.

  5. Isn't there a 'double jeopardy' rule in place now? So if it was a penalty he wouldn't also be given a red card (regardless of whether it was a clear goal scoring opportunity).

Pretty sure it's only if someone's making a genuine attempt to get the ball.

  6. I make it about 3 weeks full training he has had. Missed about 2 and half months but not exactly coming back from an ACL operation.

RH vague when asked in yesterdays presser. Said he needs to get match fit but when asked how without playing matches he kind of sidestepped the question and talked about intense training.

I have a feeling Targett will play til the end of the season and we will look to sell Bertrand in the summer.

Personally really like RB and think Targett consistently struggles at PL level but one is an Academy player and the other isn't.

Club will probably feel they can save on Bertrand's wages.

Why not just sell him/loan him out in January?

  7. I thought his movement was poor last night, not pace wise but where and when he was making his runs. He seemed to be playing far too narrow through the middle and never dragged people out of position to create space for others. I get that people want him to do well because he’s ‘one of our own’ and all that, but I’m not convinced he’s the answer.

  8. I was in block 133 and **** me, we had some planks in there. Load of aggro going on with some Baldy bloke and other Saints fans, went on for ages. They even missed Austin hitting the post, they were arguing so much. The other blokes & a bird were trying to get at baldy, and abusing him, there were also punches thrown. Someone said baldy was Chelsea , but he clearly wasn’t as he had a Saints shirt on, and also kept shouting how he was there in ‘76. I don’t know what baldy did or said, but it must have touched a nerve as the others were clearly raging.

Baldy bloke and his son were slagging the players off and started abusing people when they were told to shut up and support the team.

    No punches were thrown.

The girl was trying to calm people down/diffuse the situation.

  9. I am trying to add a few friends to friends and family to buy tickets together for tomorrow, and the only options it seems to give is:

Add me to their Friends and Family ...or Register Supporter

Where is the option to add them to my friends and family ?

I am probably being stupid...but when I press enter or click add me to their friends...it doesn't add them to my list of friends

For you to buy tickets using friends/family’s ST numbers they need to add you to their account.

It used to be the other way around.

  10. Well, it is the case, and the club isn't paying it back. Football club owners, like race horse owners, do it for fun and always have done. They don't do it to make money.

"Though Bloom has ploughed more than £200million into Brighton his wealth is unknown. Some estimate it at a billion pounds, based on his expenditure at the club."

Except she didn’t buy us, she inherited us. You knew that though - this another attempt from you at Glasgow-esque trolling.
