  1. 8 games isn't enough though really to jusge MP. He's still learning the team's strengeths, I thought he was tactically and personell wise spot on against Liverpool, something you might not be able to say about his previous games.

On the other hand, he got it horribly wrong against QPR. Though I agree, 8 games is nowhere near enough time to judge someone.

  2. Just before MLG corrects you, Lambert equalised at City ;).

Meant the Davis goal where we took the lead! Ooops. The amount of times I've watched those goals back since, I really should remember. Ha.

  3. nope, increases his value and gives him a stronger bargaining basis as well as doing a favour to a club where he's been for 5 years.

Still see him at M U next season. He wants to be in the squad come June 2014, Deschamps is a "big" club pundit, if Morgan was at Juventus,Lyon or PSG he'd have got the nod before Gonalons or Pogba before now. Staying at Saints is restricting his chance of being in Brazil in June 2014. He knows it.

Increasing his value is not a way to get a move, a higher price tag is more likely to put interested clubs off. A young and upcoming player on a 5 year contract who has just had an impressive season in the Premiership isn't going to be cheap.

Plus it wouldn't give him a stronger bargaining position at all. With a year or two left on his contract he can force a move by telling us he won't be signing a new deal as he wants a move. Now he's on a 5 year contract, Saints hold all the power.

  4. still might, you'd have to colour me dubious about him still being here on the opening day of next season .

Rather strange he would sign a new contract if that was the case.

  5. Your best of the season Saints player? Morgan

Best individual performance from any player Saints/Opposition? Morgan v Man City. Run the midfield despite the high class opponents.

Best match performance from Saints? Liverpool at home. The first half we tore them to pieces and should've been 4/5 clear.

Highest point of excitement? Davis equaliser at Man City - mayhem in the away end.

Best Saints goal scored? Puncheon at Chelsea

Lowest point that you thought it was all doom and gloom? QPR was the lowest I've felt for a while after a Saints game.

Best goal conceded? Cisse at Newcastle.

Best Song/comment heard on the terraces? Luis Suarez, your teeth are offside.

Worse pundit you have come across since our arrival back in the big time? Lawrenson - Not even because he's negative about us. He's just a smug c*nt that needs a slap.

  6. Agree, and I dont think I would make that swap. Gaston has much more potential as I see it and Ox hasn´t been able to get in their side regurly....

AOC would be more suited to us in our current league position than Ramirez. Ramirez technically is a better footballer but it's how you apply it.

We've looked very dangerous out wide at times this season with Shaw, Clyne and Puncheon bombing forward. Someone with out and out pace and who has an end product would've only added to that threat.

  7. what a thought provoking post that is.

    Likewise.

I could've dragged it out over a paragraph or two but considering the point I was trying to make was that I would chose Chamberlain over him, I thought I would keep it nice and simple.

I think Ramirez will be a quality player, we've all seen glimpses of his ability. Though I just don't think he's been particularly suited to a team trying to find it's feet in this league, yet looking to him for inspiration despite him also trying to adjust. I can't see NC and his ego letting him go in the summer, unles GR is desperate to leave. Everyone knows Ramirez was his signing and he wouldn't want him deemed to be a flop. IF we stay up, hopefully Ramirez will flourish for us next season.

  8. The Spurs game was his best performance, but since that Sunderland game he's not been invloved at all, even when we're chasing games. Weird signing really.

Like I said at Norwich, I reckon we've just taken a gamble on him. Top scorer at the ACON, scored fairly frequentally at a decent level in Switzerland and could be picked up for £3m. Sounds good on paper so I reckon we just chanced our luck on it. Could've gone one way or the other, either the next Eto'o or the next Ali Dia.

  9. He was pretty poor up at Leeds, but since then has started against Sunderland I think. Hardly had a kick since then though?

Looked decent when he came on against Villa but didn't particularly stand out against Sunderland. Still slightly surprised he hasn't been given another chance since.

  10. ****? No good enough maybe, but ****? Chaplow did a great job for us last season helping us to promotion. No idea why players like him are are spoken of in that way on here.

He had about 6 games where he played well. The rest was fairly average or sub appearances. He served a purpose but let's not get carried away, a good footballer he is not.

  11. I can't be bothered to read through all the other pages but I would just like to add... hahahaha. What a load of rubbish, will never happen.

Now let's not try to get ourselves all worked up like the Skates did with their floating potty. It will make us all look rather silly when it doesn't materialise.

  12. I wouldn't bank on any of the Tests lasting 5 days. The Aussie cricket team is shocking. They have the Chuckle Brothers opening and the Krankies at 3 and 4. Clarke is decent enough and Wade and Henriques can be stubborn but the tail is **** too. They can't bowl decent spin or swing and the pace, Pattinson and Siddle, meh. England are going to thrash them big time. Twice.

After last night's debacle, I wouldn't be so sure...

Though it would still work out cheaper to get a 5 day pass and there only be 4 days play, wouldn't it? Imagine we'll have the grounds to ourselves come the 3rd day if we are humping them.

  13. Turkish was pretty much spot on with his rules. Would just like to add a few of my own;

    • Do not clap like a demented seal on speed when singing OWTS.

    • If we get relegated, do not cry. The entire country will laugh at the club as a whole, not just you.

    • Fancy dress is strictly forbidden. You don't look funny or zany, you look like a c*nt.

    • Do not sing "We are Southampton, we do what we want" - We don't, we're do as we're told.

    • DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES 'chant' "Luuuuuuuuke" when he comes on as a sub - it sounds ridiculous.

    • Anyone wearing a beanie and a pair of shorts at the same time should be executed on the halfway line as part of the HT entertainment.

  14. Tadanari Lee has a magnificent work rate, and therefore fits pocchetino's style.. Why he was loaned out is beyond me.

Brett Ormerod has a terrific work rate. Let's get him back as well. In fact, any player that runs around a lot (regardless of ability) will do. That Mo Farah could do a job.

  15. If you're in Salisbury, head for The Old Mill for a pint http://www.signature-hospitality.com/ Just a short walk from town through some water-meadows (get a great view of the Cathedral as well). Mate of mine used to run it and it was always full of Yanks banging on about how much they adored the place.

Also, you can't get much more quintessentially English than a drive through the New Forest and it's various villages.
