  1. I thought the GOVT was suppose to bring down the cost of the units being charged for these.

As a friend of mine has one in a all electric 4 bedroom house with 4 economy7 storage heaters, and energy saving light bulbs through out the house, but still had to put £323 in less than 4 weeks, which seems outrageously high! :(

  2. I was previously a steward there. And i have to say some of the things i was told to do to those misbehaving were uncalled for, and downright out of order! And i have been doing this type of event, and bigger security for over 20 yrs. But having met the so called head stewards, i know why. They were more intrested in their own clicky club and giving out the best jobs to their friends, and following Cowan/Lowe's orders (no matter how wrong they seemed). Arselickers 'R' Us and Yes Men are just mild names i could call them, they are the jobsworths your talking about! One is a car salesman and one a B&Q worker(lots of security experiance there then) but Lowe likes plyable people now doesn't he! :(

P.S before you say he's bitter,No! i left of my own volition, as i was told by a head steward that i should treat this as my main job, and not my current one! What a P-rick! ;)

  3. RUPERT LOWE IS OUR SAVIOUR! (SB,SCOOBY,ECT)

he'll save us from adminstration, but he wont save us from the drop.

All for the sake of saving some pennies. THE FOOTBALL TEAM MAKES THE PENNIES! so having a good winning one will offset any outlay(FANS BACK) on a better manager/ players. IF YOU CANT SEE THAT LOWE YOUR THE BIGGEST C_U_N_T IN FOOTBALL!! :(

  4. PONTY TRY THIS:One option for unlocking audio books is built into AudibleManager. Audible supports CD burning for most of their titles. When the CD is created, the audio book becomes just like any other CD-Audio disk. Open Windows Media Player, rip the CD and transfer the tracks to a Zen Micro. Keep in mind that a 10 hour book will require about 9 CDs. For a year's worth of Audible books, you may be looking at around 200 CDs to burn and then rip, which takes a long time. The advantage to this method is AudibleManager automatically divides the book into tracks, making it easy to skip through the book to a favorite part or to pick up where you left off.

In addition to the series of steps required to get the book from the Audible file format to a CD and back to MP3 or some other compatible file format, burning CDs isn't infallible. I made a few coasters with the AudibleManager before I realized the Roxio burning engine used by AudibleManager was conflicting with the Nero InCD burning technology that boots on startup on the system I used. The only way to turn off InCD is to end the process from the Windows Task Manager. If your system automatically turns on any background CD burning software, turn it off before attempting to burn a CD from AudibleManager or you will waste time and blank CD-R media burning your books. ;)

  5. MESSAGE FROM THE OWNER

In this weekend’s matchday programme, Pompey owner Sacha Gaydamak and executive chairman Peter Storrie will address the fans regarding recent media speculation and player movements.

Below is the message in full:

“First of all may we wish you all a very happy new year.

“We want to take this opportunity to update you directly on our plans to continue the success we have achieved over the last three years.

“Since the January 2006 takeover we have spent substantial sums on both transfer fees and players’ wages.

“As a result we have built a high-value, quality squad which has brought success over that period and allowed us to build a club based on sound and sustainable business principles.

“Recently, with the approval of the board and Tony Adams, Peter Storrie has negotiated the sale of Lassana Diarra to Real Madrid and Jermain Defoe to Tottenham, for similar club-record fees.

“Both of these sales have deferred payment terms, in addition to outstanding fees payable to their previous clubs.

“As a result, we are on course to achieve a turnaround from a loss-making business to a break-even position, which gives us a solid platform to recruit new players to the squad and move the business forward.

“We are now operating in a more volatile economic environment in the UK. This, together with the international nature of our player trading leaves us susceptible to adverse movements in exchange rates.

“To counteract this we have reviewed all areas of the business, including salaries and overheads, with a view to making reductions where possible.

“Forefront in our minds will always be our Premier League status.

“The resultant changes will ensure that as a club we come through these difficult times for businesses and football clubs in a stronger position for the future.

“We have no further need to sell any players from our squad. Indeed, we are looking to offer new contracts to players that Tony sees as part of the future beyond the end of this season.

“In addition we are currently working on the permanent acquisition of three players along with two loan deals to the end of the season, one from the UK and one from abroad.

“These acquisitions will increase the size of the squad that Tony has by five players. We are confident that a couple will be concluded shortly, but that all five players will be here well before the transfer window closes.

“Over the last three years we have all worked closely together and have always updated our supporters on club matters, as we are now.

“We are not in a financial crisis as sections of the media would have you believe. We have simply adjusted the business to deal with the current climate until we move into the new stadium when our revenue streams will be increased.

“The sales of Sulley Muntari and Pedro Mendes in the summer allowed us to purchase Peter Crouch and Younes Kaboul and pay loan fees for both Armand Traoré and Nadir Belhadj, the latter of whom we have now purchased.

“During this window the players that have left us are one who wanted to go and another who openly stated, on joining us, that one day he would leave for a bigger club. We have helped both achieve their ambitions.

“The strength of this club has always been derived from the support that you, the fans, give the team and the club. Working together as one, we can continue that success.

“We hope we have given you all a clearer picture of the positive way forward for the club. We will always keep you updated directly via our website and the programme.

“On a final note, we want to reassure our faithful supporters of our commitment to the sustainable longevity of Portsmouth Football Club.

    “Sacha Gaydamak and Peter Storrie”

OS SPIN, and you fell for it! lol ;)
  6. Barclays has no say in what goes on in SLH AT ALL!(its a bank account FFS) Does your bank tell you when to go to work, or when to pay you money in! No of course they dont, all they can do is withdraw credit facilities. I'd be more worried about what Norwhich Union are thinking not FUUUcking Barclays, as they are the people we owe the most money too! And they basically own the stadium. :(

  7. Just as we close out 2008 we have the most ridiculous reason of the year for retaining Lowe...
Yeah its like saying i had this girl and got syphilis, so i thought i would try someone else (wilde) and got crabs! So i'm thinking to myself , i dont like crabs i much prefer syphilis so i,m going back to the girl who gave it to me as i know were i stand with her! HTH ;)
  8. Hello

I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC that I bought secondhand (off the mother in law - probably not significant).

    It's stopped working.

When I turn it on it says "Remove lens cap" even though I've already removed it. That's it. Press any button: "Remove lens cap".

Now it turns out that the camera may have been dropped a distance of 1.18m on to linolium covered floorboards by somebody, not me. No visible damage.

So then, I only paid £50 for it. Is there any point taking it to someone for repairs, or should I just chuck it and get a new one?

Is "Remove lens cap" some sort of code?

    Thank you for any suggestions.

Sounds like the light sensor may have been broken or knocked loose. If you have good household insurance, claim on it for accidental damage! As to expensive to repair!!! ;)
