  1. I think Morgan could flourisj alongside another Defensive midfield player, to give hom more freedom to move forward and also to stop the opposition wife men cutting inside and shooting. He has pretty much all the technique of Schweinsteiger, he just needs a bit more time to develop.

Cork on the other hand is a typical english cm, who runs around a lot, often bewcause he is in the wrong position to start with. For the Norris goal, he was chasing the ball on the half way line, when he should have been 5 yards in front of Fonte. He is just like Henderson of Liverpool but with a worse shot.

Lots of strange views on this board, but this is the weirdest. Over 46 games, you choose one incident to justify your view that Cork is crap. Cork and Morgan are different players, but of the two, last season, Cork was the one that would have been missed most. Morgan may well be better suited to the Premier league, but we won't know until about half way through next season. On the other hand, if you want a midfield player to hit it 40 yards to no-one in particular, then Morgan is your man.

  2. Lol so do you remember what colour we played in or was it that good you forgot?

I think that we played in blue, but can't be sure. Only about 200 there and no segregation in a 50,000 crowd meant we were concentrating on other things at times.

  3. tie was dead after 45 minutes

surprised anyone went away unless they went for the beer lol

We paid for the trip before the home leg, with a no refund policy. Flew from Bournemouth on the day of the game and came back on the Thursday. Good trip.

  4. Look at sites like moneymadesimple or money madeclear. They will have instructions and wordings for letters to complain to your lender. As above, you do not need a PPI claim company to do this.

  5. Yes that's right, over 1200 pages because you're all soooo outraged about the plight of local Portsmouth people and the rest. Buuuuull****. You don't give a flying **** about local Pompey people. This thread is ENTIRELY about jealousy and bitterness towards your biggest rivals. ENTIRELY.

If you really believe that load of cock above, you should be worried- you're losing your grip on reality....

To be fair it started off all about your shower, and mostly still is. However, it has made clear to all those who have read through this saga that there is something very wrong with the laws in this country in relation to business insolvency in general.

I'm just laughing at you lot though.

  6. He was a disgrace, like most of their team. No effort at all, no professional pride, and an insult to the club that pays them.

I can't remember Nugent passing to a colleague at any time in last night's game, and the next time he comes to St.Mary's, I expect him to get an even worse reception than last time.

  7. I think that they were a little bit worried about Davis before the game. He did a warm up half an hour before kick off, and the GK coach gave a thumbs up to Adkins after a chat with Davis. They seemed to be working on catching and punching as if he was having trouble stretching.

  8. I've got real concerns for and about about this guy. Our current position not withstanding, he rarely has a plan B, has bought poorly - Saints' success so far has largely been down to either players brought by Pardew or were already in situ- and is undeniably under Cortese's instructions for each and every action that he implements.

You can not help but feel sorry for a boss who if Southampton fail to get promoted will be hung out to dry by his chairman or, if succsseful, will be three Premiership defeats away from the sack at any given time should Saints go up.

When Adkins was first touted, we had highs for his independence as he reporedly refused to leave S****horpe without them being properly rewarded but since then has made a bit of an ass of himself through his Pollyanna interviews and twee phases. London to a brick implies he is setting himself up badly here.

Before the knockers start, of course I want Saints to go forth and prosper, but the team would definiely be no worse off if Pardew was still in charge.

I haven't read the rest of this thread, but dear god what a p***k you are if you really believe that rubbish.

  9. I am a bit concerned this thread has slumped to 7th position in the Lounge (ie just in a play-off spot) we need some more bad news from down the road to kick start the season.

Well Duncan, news comes that a Russian Banker was the victim of an assassination plot in London on Tuesday evening. Sky have said there is a possibility it could have links to the attempted assassination of another Russian banker called Antonov in Russia.

They must be so proud of their tenuous connections to organised crime.

  10. I was thinking of away games more rather than home, although now you mention it a quick quote from the commentator at the live coverage a few months ago at FP:

"I have been to more packed stadiums", "I have been to shinier stadiums", "I have been to much nicer stadiums, but I have never, ever, ever been to a louder one"

Many ex players are quoted as saying that the Pompey support is the loudest they have ever played against. Its not just ex players either, Henry, Pires, Warnock, half the inter milan team have all been quoted as saying the Pompey support is good.

I could be wrong, but I dont remember ever reading the same about saints. Happy to be proven wrong though.

A quick look on the Barnsley Forum, Reading forum, Millwall forum will give you an idea of what they thought of the Pompey support.

Regarding numbers, you have the upper hand without a doubt. One day we may have your infrastructure and league position and a comparison may truly be made. I am not holding my breath though!

You talk about 27,000 in admin compared to 17,000 but was it in a falling down stadium?, was it after season ticket holders and loyal fans have been shafted for years? Was it when many find it hard to stomach supporting such appaling actions of previous owners? How many would you have got in the same circumstances? I dont know, and neither do you.

Thye circumstances were the same in all respects, other than the stadium. Perhaps we should have played all our games after admin at your poor excuse for a ground. You have a tw8t with a bell and his retarded mates, we have a fanbase.

But as you disappear for good, you keep kidding yourselves you are better fans not just than us, but all other UK based clubs. Deluded.

  11. OK, let's put the "our team was fiull of kids" myth to bed once and for all. On of your posters (Chez?) posted the following appearances by your "kids".

I've taken some of them out of the "kid list" because Surman was already established in the first team, Lallana was already breaking into it the season before, Cork was a loan, Scheiderlin cost £1m and McGoldrick was already 22 and had played in the first team fairly regularly two years before. So none of these were "kids" that you were forced to play out of desperation or cost cutting. That leaves players making a total of 187 appearances. Of those, Lee Holmes was a player you signed that summer by outbidding Leeds & Pekhart and Robertson were loans. So, not exactly "kids" bumped up from your youth team any more than some of the loan players we've played over the last couple of seasons. Taking those out of the equation gives you what I'd agree in calling "kids" a total of 157 appearances across the season. Now, I'm assuming many of these appearances were as sub but we'll count them anyway.

That means out of a total possible players across the season of 672 (11 starting and 3 subs across 46 league and 2 cup games) your "kids" made up a total of 23% of the total players you played. Or to put it another way, your team averaged 2.5 "kids" per game. Not exactly the youth team you try to portray, is it?

Actually, they were kids, but importantly they were also cheap.

Anyway Steve, how do you feel about the current situation at Cheats FC? Ashamed to be associated with it, or just trolling on here because your a p***k?

  12. Mods, can we have a poll on here to vote for our favourite P*****pey administration?

My favourite was 2010, with Storrie and the guy in the car park at Fratton. However, with all the admins to choose from, I'm sure others have their own personal best memories.

On a separate note, did any one else see that Rangers signed a player, Cousin, this morning, and went into Admin at lunchtime. Has Storrie got a new job in Scotland?

  13. I heard last night, third hand but actually a believeable source, that without the £400,000 last night, they could not fulfil the fixture on Saturday. Everyone from Stewards, turnstile opps, corp hospitality staff etc, saying pay up or we don't work.

Would be a shame if they paid them and the game was postponed.

  14. It's been a busy week all round girls but now we've got Joe "Fantasy Island" Cala out of our systems what have you investigative genius' got to tell me about what's happening next at PFC?

Points deduction followed by bankruptcy would be my guess

  15. There's just no point in the match threads anymore, they stop it being even slightly enjoyable. We're topping a league for the first time in my saints supporting life, I'm liking it personally. Might not stay there, but so be it. It's clear now certain posters will never be positive, never be happy and never seem to get much joy from their club. In L1 we definitely weren't going up, they wrote us off after EVERY slip up (one genius in september, go on, guess), then they say we'll mess it up at the end, then that we messed it up only coming 2nd. Then that we'd struggle, didn't spend enough, signed wrong players, didn't sign early enough, players wouldn't make the step up etc. Then that our start wouldn't last long, that we didn't strengthen enough. And then? Then the biggest joke of all, that being top isn't enough, we should actually be miles clear at the top and we've messed it up, we need lots of signings, lots of money spent or it'll all go wrong.

No thought towards budgets, no thought that the manager will do what he can whatever the finances, no appreciation of our achievements so far, no apparent memory of all the time we've been awful over the years, no memory of nearly losing the club, no awareness of overspending, no attempt to be positive and absolutely no enjoyment of our club.

THAT is why the match threads and their loud minority of tedious wristslitting, bedwetting overreacting pathetic nobheads can fck right off.

    This

  16. No, ****tard, read what I actually wrote. I said he couldn't expect PFC to pay stolen money back to HIM. What is it with your obsession with Moneyfields as well? Was it some rough boys from Copnor who gave you a wedgie and scarred you for life?

If you didn't keep on insisting that your hatred for us is because of the poor charities and hospitals I might believe you more. Just be honest about it instead of all the hand wringing hypocrisy

Inextricably linked "as one economic entity". There's no doubt CSI and Pompey are linked is there you idiot. The point is whether, like you and SLH, the club is the only asset. Seeing as Antonov apparently paid £30m for the WRC rights we're clearly not. Try and keep up

"Sources close to Chainrai claim he is still owed £12million from the CSI sale"

    http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Portsmouth-will-not-be-docked-points-after-parent-company-enters-administration-says-Football-League-article836217.html

Never seen you ask it before. the simple answer is because the money wasn't due to him until later (July 2009 if I remember correctly) by which time we WERE in financial touble.

I've edited FC's post as I've never liked Tolstoy, especially on football forums.

Ref what it would cost, I'd expect any potential buyer to suggest paying the £10.8m "loan" Antonov made to PFC straight to Chainrai as the purchase price. CSI owe him the money after all and that would kill two birds with one stone. CVA is lrgely covered by parachute payments and the land around the stadium is only an issue if the owner (whoever it might be) wants to enlarge/ develop the ground.

As for the losses, I'm told the accounts Lampitt's going to publish in Feb show we made a loss of £1m

I love it when you tell us what you "heard". We can now expect the losses to be at least £11m judging by past experience of your "contact".

  17. Because Standard bank of South Africa called in a loan that Gaydamak couldn't repay, mainly due to the crash severely reducing his income from commission on stock market trades....

But that money was only borrowed in early 2008, the credit crunch and crash bit in Sept/Oct 2008. So, if Gayboy junior really had the money, why did he not put it in himself? Answer was he never had any money but his dad did. Gayboy senior of course couldn't own a football club because he couldn't pass an FPPT due to his outstanding European Arrest Warrant. When senior couldn't help, Gayboy junior, the magnificent Peter Storrie, and Bagpuss, hocked the whole future of the club to a foreign bank. They could of course have let players go, reduced expenditure in other ways, but then they wouldn't have won the cup.

Therefore the cup win was based on an unfair financial advantage, and is therefore always going to be classed as being won by cheating.

  18. Funny how mental illness works isn't it? I mean the whole football world knows what a passionate bunch we are. Even Ronaldhino said the atmosphere was the best he'd ever known after the AC Milan game at FP. Thierry henry was another who marvelled at the atmosphere. Mark lawrenson during the commentary of that 5-1 stuffing by Arsenal said he'd never heard a home team singing an opponents name in praise at his sheer class before.

But no, all of football, the press and other teams fans are wrong and you are right arent you?

The fact is that no-one EVER talks about you lot in the same terms and it eats you up doesn't it? THATS mental illness for you. The greenest of green envy....

All three of you. The best and the least.

  19. Corp, you have managed to prove again that you don't get it.

Unsustainable wages will kill the club, just like it did last time. I would have thought that with all your administrations you would have worked it out by now.

  20. Pathetic sarcasm about something you know to be a valid point.

Its that sort of post that drags this site down. Knowing someone has said something valid, but knocking it anyway.

Your post deserves the response it got. We changed three of the back four today, won the game, and have won five out of six in the league. Your point wasn't valid, and were you there or listening to the voice of doom on Saints player?
