The guy can certainly pull the squad together and I can't fault him for that.
I am interested to see how he gets on in this league with a 'bigger club with bigger expectations', even dropping down a league last season he admitted that it was in theory, a massive step forward. He does like to use sports science and I think thats starting to pay off and I also agree with a previous comment about the way he's got DC fit and enjoying football again, I believe his faith in getting DC fit could be his best move yet.

A player who joined Southend and was sent on loan to Stevenage then in the Blue Square. Was not a great player then and I don't reckon he is now.

Great idea, i'd pay to wtach the reserves play Real Madrid reserves etc.
Could be a tough one seeming though their 'B' team play in the third tier of Spanish football. Its the same with alot of teams in Europe where alot of reserve or 'B' teams play in the lower leagues.

I spoke to some in Portugal during Euro 2004 and they said he was "big and a bit clumsy" and Maxwell was miles better than him which is why he was leaving.
Moral of this story is that footy fans actually attending major tournaments seem to know more about football than those spending their summer on holiday in neighbouring countries to those in which major tournaments aere taking place...
Just to add a little 'fact' it was after said tournament so who knows they may well of attended.
Seems to me you're making a pointless point, just because someone goes to a tournament doesn't mean they are a safe source on someone who had played for their supported club, people argue here all the time over whether a player is good or not everyone has a different opinion of someone.

Dressed like a German, he was an odd bloke. I remember the summer we signed him speaking to some Ajax fans out in Spain, they rated him and said he would be a half decent player in Prem.....never trusted the Dutch since.

I can't believe Magnet's already forgotten our triumphant run as Gecko Saints and then TSF Owen Hargreaves First XI at Goals in his honours... we won the Conference AND League One on Tuesdays.
Maybe we only won the weeks he wasn't there, I can't remember now.
Did we ever win a league under Gecko Saints name? I thought it was only the Hargreaves.

Booked in for last physio treatment before the game, been trying to get ankle moving on the bike, I may do some light jogging tomorrow...hopefully it will hold out for 90 minutes on Thursday.

Very much so, half the reason why he left Spain when he did. High wages and very little playing time.

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't stand up in court, it's just a threat from the authorities as usual. They used the banning orders to stop 'hooligans' from travelling to England games as you mentioned, then again, they haven't managed to stop everyone from travelling.

Very true, just booked for 3 weeks time to a 5* hotel in OluDeniz, Turkey, full board (drinks included at lunch and dinner), Sports facilities included, all transfers and flights. £500....not bad price for what I'm getting, plus kids are back at school.
