We'll sell, at best, the lower tier for Everton. We never take many there and the coronavirus stuff is going to put a lot of folk off. Also the fact Everton are only reducing the restricted view tickets by a quid is an absolute joke, restricted view there can mean not being able to see a goal in some cases and to only reduce that by a quid is a disgrace.
Hopefully the club don't use it to justify their previous policy, in my opinion United away would've been a much better trial for this.

He’s talking about the allocation at Old Trafford being 2400, not Watford
Ah right i should learn how to read then
-
Manchester Utd are one of the few clubs where they offer various allocations - 1800 , 2400 and the full 3000.
2400 is probably the right allocation for this one.
Which is a good thing because 2400 is also the top allocation we can take for it as Watford's ground only holds 21k (it's actually more than they need to give us too as it's 10% or 3k if your ground is over 30k)

Agreed - not sure how grown adults can happily stand there and chant about ****ing your sister and your mum. Idiots.
And as for the ca 40 year old bloke, smoking weed next to a child (so much so that his dad took him out of his seat to go elsewhere...get a grip.
God we have a bunch of saps in our support
-
Given that we’re thick in a relegation battle, I really do hope the support improves as it could prove vital in the 6 pointer Derby’s (Bournemouth and Brighton).
COYR
I usually agree with what you put on here mush, but no way either of those are derbies

player with tentative link to Saints 12 years ago
he's one of our own
if we're going down that route what about Southampton Boys making all the noise, sung in the concourse by people that are quiet as mice in the stands

The whole raisin detre of saints fans these days is “we might be sh1t but we’re not as **** as ......”
Look at the atttitude to Goa, he might not be the best but he’s not the worst
Our fans the atmosphere isn’t great but at least it’s not as bad as .....
How about we actually try and aim to not be better than the sh1tyest other examples around us?
Agree mush. I’m f*cking sick of the didn’t we play but we lost mentality. Or the we sold out an away game but made f*ck all noise mentality. Or the pat yourself on the backs for singing when you’re winning mentality (and half the time it’s the same repeated songs or songs nicked from elsewhere).
Why can’t we have a bit more pride than that. We might not be the biggest club but we’re from Southampton and I’m proud as f*ck of my city, and I don’t want to accept defeat, or a half arsed support, I want us to be the best everywhere.

Is our home support really that bad?? Even the 'amazing' Anfield was described as being 'flat' by the BBC on Monday night when they were making hard work of West Ham. And it was certainly flat on my last 2 visits, as was the new Spurs ground. I think we are being unfairly targeted
Anfield hasn't been amazing for about a decade if not more, the Spurs ground IS a morgue, same as the Emirates. Does that make our home support good? Not really. It's definitely improving now the Itchen North is making a difference but compared to the league one and championship days it's pretty f*cking awful, the Northam barely sings these days and the Kingsland North carry them most games.
To be honest our support needs a kick up the ar*e, it's gotten far too friendly and nice and seems to be full of day trippers or people so entitled they think we should be getting champions league places.

The question was asked but seemingly there's not an answer in the notes from the club:
As I recall, the discussion veered more into how our own away allocations are derived but that doesn't mean an unanswered element can't be re-visited at a later time. I have to be honest and say I can't recall an answer to that specific point but I do think the club tried to answer as openly about allocations as they could in the time available (there was quite a bit to cover), as it was an issue they really wanted to respond to having seen stuff online and in contact with individual fans too.
Genuine question why was someone putting themselves forward to represent Saints fans on this platform?
"I’ve been to every single ground nearly that I can think of and I enjoy meeting away fans from different cities, communicating with them to also enhance the away atmosphere at the stadium." (link https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2019-11-29/saints-voice-panel-voting-southampton-fc)
Why in gods name would we want to improve the away atmosphere at St Mary's? I'm sure i'm not alone in wanting the away atmosphere ruined in our ground, in fact i don't want visiting fans to enjoy coming, i want them to hate it and come in smaller numbers.
-
Bain of my life that song. We also used it for Jermaine Wright, Papa Waigo and Frazer Richardson too.
that song pretty much sums up how sh*t our support is these days, almost every new player gets that song as standard, it's dull as f*ck
-
Shame the question of why we give away fans more than we have to for cup games never came up.
Not likely that the Saints Voice will ever bring that up when one of them was "campaigning" on being a champion of away fans visiting St Mary's...
-
The same qualifying rounds which, the last time we were in them, we got knocked out of.... which a squad 10x stronger than the one above.
I can only assume you’re on a wind up, in which case fair play you’ve got me to bite.
He's not on a wind up, he's just a bit odd. Don't forget this is the nipper that genuinely thought we'd get champions league and was convinced we would increase the stadium to 45k and sell it out. Football for him exists on a computer, it has no bearing at all to real life.
-
My post was responding to how they'd do in the Championship as SKD said they'd struggle. Adams has more than proven himself at that level.
Leicester weren't interested in Vestergaard for ****s and giggles. He isn't as bad as many make out.
Danso is **** I agree, Smallbone and Vokins I acknowledged are unproven.
Using the Leicester match to write off Gunn is unfair, he wasn't to blame for the 9 goals. I think his time will come again.
Romeu has declined, but could easily do a job in the Championship.
SKD's point remains though, play that team in the Europa league (not that we're getting into it) and we'd be out straight away. It's simply not good enough.
-
They don't play because we have better alternatives, that does not mean they aren't capable in the PL.
Romeu has been past his best for seasons now and should've been sold as he's nowhere the standard we need.
Vestergaard has been awful, and arguably one of the main reasons we conceded so many.
Gunn let in 9 (NINE) goals in a single game, he has potential but he's nowhere near good enough to be a premier league keeper right now.
Danso is our 4th choice center back, on loan and probably won't be renewed as he's not seen as good enough.
Obafemi is raw, seems to lack discipline in training and hasn't really had two decent performances in a row. If he's the answer then i'm not sure what the question is.
Adams hasn't scored a single goal all season, it's a long shot to argue he's a premier league standard player when he's a striker with zero goals.
Smallbone and Vokins have barely got any experience.
Djenepo, Boufal and Valery i'll give you.
That team would get battered in most league cup games, let alone european games.
-
Robbed this from the Ugly Inside, but would be good if we could use it for Djenepo instead of that f*cking seven nations army song that we've now sung for, Yoshida, Gaston Ramirez, Alex McCarthy and Djenepo (and probably more too).
To the tune of the La's There She Goes,
Djenepo
Djenepo again
Racing just like Paine
And I just can’t contain
That feeling that remains
for those that don't know the tune,
-
Strange. Last time they made the final they were only going “to take my kids to experience Wembley” and “a one off day out”. This time it’s to show the support for the club but not the trophy. Whatever fits to boycott the boycott

The scabs will always scab. They’re a city with a history of breaking strikes, hardly a surprise they’ll break another one. Bunch of Walter Mitty c*nts

To be fair I reckon he’ll end up somewhere like Leicester, villa or another midlands club. Makes sense really as it means his kid can be closer to his father in Crewe

Would rather see him crash his car on the M3 to be honest

You didn't watch it if you think their defence was anything but woeful. Unlucky Spurs spurned so many chances. Attacking with Grealish they look v good
Villa are a poor side with an exceptional player, this league is currently made up of a lot of poor sides so that exceptional player makes them look better than they are. I'm not saying this game will be easy, as i don't think we're particularly great either, but i do think we're better than them, and i do think we should be winning this.
The fact that Targett has been one of their better players shows you everything you need to know, most people could see he wasn't premier league standard for us and he still isn't for Villa. Take Grealish out of that side and they'd be comfortably bottom three.
-
Villa are probably the worst defensive side i've seen us play all season, the truth is if we're serious about not being in a relegation battle this is exactly the side we should be beating at home. Aside from Grealish their team is Championship play off standard at best, and even with Redmond out i see no reason we shouldn't win this (other than our own attitude).
My big hope is that the fans stay off the players backs, and get behind the team as they would've done in relegation battles of the past. Villa will be there for the taking, we just have to be patient.
-
No real surprise it's not caught on given the majority of our fan base, and the lyrics to this song.
It's funny as f*ck to be fair
-
Our Jack Stephens, he's ****ing scum
He'll **** your girlfriend
Then he'll **** your mum
Our Jack Stephens,
He's going to **** you up to
To the tune Cant Take my Eyes off of you, The I Love you baby chorus bit
Its great, but not taking off. Shame.
To be fair that's f*cking hilarious but i can see why it wouldn't take off, think a lot of our fans probably want something a bit "nicer"
-
think you’ll find the same for all clubs.
we have tried starting original songs (not original music tbf, but we’re Harding Webber or Rice, more SAW) but they don’t take off except Danny Ings. Woolston Ferry, a great Jack Stephens song, even the Redmond song doesn’t really get going (probably cause he is mainly playing on the left now).
its a waste of time and so we stick to yellows, OWTS and Fathers gun, it’s all a bit stale.
What was the Jack Stephens song?
And neither song mentions "Pompey".It's sickening.
Why would it need to mention them? The constant references to the blue few are just as embarrassing.
What i don't get is why we don't have songs that reference our city, we support Saints because we're proud to come from Southampton after all, or the legends of the past, not just Le Tiss, but Paine, Davies, Channon etc. Other clubs do, but we don't seem to do that.
Or maybe just even have some new songs about our current players (not to the tune of seven nations army would be nice)

The whole of the Dell, rocking to 'One man went to mow'....
The famous Chelsea song?

Don't see anyway the season continues now, there's no way the players agents will let them play in my opinion.
