I have a mate who was on the books of Bristol City then Aston Villa, he played against Shearer and Wallace with his academy team, because of the surroundings he was use to he thought he was invincible, until the day him and his mate went to meet some girls they had met who never turned up as arranged. The two of them missed the team bus and that was the end of both their football careers. He says he can remember sitting on the stairs listening to the Villa youth coach telling his Mum & Dad that their son had blown his chance in football.......... That was it, the guy is now a retail buyer.

Sour Mash as explained by Fowllyd below, it was a tuesday night early in the season , the London Press had built them up as the team of the 80's as stated they had a good start. Packed Dell and Saints took them apart, Palace with Venebles had something about them but Saints in that Admiral Red and White kit took em apart!!! When Under the West stand started OWTSGMI and all of a sudden the whole ground joined in on a night match things could not have got much better to a young lad!

Another great night was when we destroyed Crystal Palace who were the team of the 80's 4-0 or 4-1. Cannon the centre half was terroised that night along with Sansom!

We have had some **** over recent years!!

Agree but I am sure if we were to be in the top six just before Christmas our gates would top 28,000 most weeks then selling out for likes of West Ham, Leeds, Wolves and Brighton. Also Pompey if they could sell their allocation?

transition from playing in front of 7,000 to 32,000 sell outs would be a massive step up for the lad?

We were bloody good at Cardiff, made it like the old cup finals, all made an effort, every Arsenal fan I met after and during thought we were magnificent! Shame the team never went for it as well!
