-
had a wander around the east st centre a little while ago, and it's amazing how many shops(empty ones) there are in there!
top trainers was ace, and i can remember when it was the ONLY centre in town and busy...ish

paul pogba is a bit special. just 17, but a real talent.

we don't have directors as such, each area has a head, i.e operations (brendon mclinchey), retail (is it leighton mitchell ?), sales (was David Luker), academy (Les Reed i think) and so on, these all meet as a 'board' with NC as chairman. Although i think Lindsey Hyde has now left, not sure what dept she came under?
lyndsay was HR.

it appears crawley actually informed the police, as it was their official Fa cup song!!!
my guess, is that the idiot was already on the clubs radar...

Let's not mention all the millions he and his fellows took out of the club over those 10 years in excessively high executive salaries, bonuses and excessive dividends - and all the fat contracts awarded to companies they also owned.
All legal - but it was money that could and should have taken SFC to the next level.
Lowe did a lot of good things - but he was always in it to make money for himself and his cronies - be they fellow directors or hid shareholding friends.
At one point he was the highest paid CEO in football - and I never understood why we needed a CEO and an MD. We were also one of the few if not the only club to pay the non-executive directors a salary - and lets not forget the excessive expenses they all claimed!
But he proved that even a well run club couldn't be run as a business indefinately - the cost of sales is too high and the need for investment constant.
proof in that or any of what you have written please...

Top post.
RL was many things, but not all bad.
had his vision believed in "living within your means", which i admire, regardless.
i truly believe if lowe had not been ousted (by the supporters!), the club would have had success in the championship!
but then also, Markus arrived, and there is nothing anyone can say negative there too!

It was really emotional today. The queue to sign the book took about 15 minutes, and in that time everyone was just silent with their thoughts looking at the tributes. God I love being a Saints fan, and seeing how much our club means to the City and all the fans worldwide. It's times like these that the glory hunters that "support" man united/Chelsea etc have no idea what supporting your local team is really like. The love and passion shown during all this, and what Saints means to us all is what makes me well up. Last season and the trophy win at Wembley was the day we all deserved, and Markus being there with his camera was the cherry on the cake.
it's not really a point scoring exercise...http://www.flickr.com/photos/8528688@N07/2755838033/
RIP Markus.

I think NC has made some good decisions over the last 12 months and some not so good ones.
At the end of the day he has all the power and is answerable only to one man, unlike Lowe he can get away with anything.
From where we were a season ago I think most are very glad that Liebherr and Cortese rode into town but.........various people who are well-placed and no axe to grind, tell me he is making a large number of enemies out there, there are many decent and hard working employees at SMS who are unhappy at his style of running things and there are many close to the club who think Cortese to be utterly out of control and acting like a despot. I have heard enough to be worried.
I hate to say this but I think next season is not going to be a smooth one and the bookies, although making us favourites, maybe unaware of a lot of tension bubbling along under the surface.

You seriously came on here, searched back through the threads history specifically to find any evidence of discussion about the Manc anti glazer protests and then bumped it to post that!?
Special, Very special.
...and, in turn, proved that even the English Man Utd fans need a translator...apologies.
i left myself logged in and someone else kinda "facebook r***d" me
sorry again.

Let's hope that if it's a sash kit it's available in both left and right shoulder versions, just as in 1885.
it was just dependent on what shoulder the individual player decided to drape the sash over, i believe.

If Andy Gray was the chap who was Dave Roberts right hand man he was always the one to come up with the prettier patterns in the cut. The pattern that always threw me was the one that follows the line of the centre circle: if you are sat higher up in the Chapel or Northam it actually makes the pitch look like there is a bloomin great big dip with the centre line at the bottom of it.
Well done Andy and his team!
he was.

Keep your hair on ffs. I'm not saying they are not well supported. Until sky came along they were going through lean times and they were not the product they are today. Football changed once sky came along. As for the "jealous" remark a massive LOL@ that. I prefer watching Saints in league 1 as we are now, than I did when we were in the premiership. I'm old enough and knowledgeable enough about football without your history lesson. United do have great support and are a great club, I was just pointing out the fact that they (as much as other clubs) have attracted the new breed of post euro 96 JCL's. I also saw loads of their fans politely clap Rooney's winner in the cup final vs Villa.
why?
because saints are winning?
did the camera instantly pan on to the supporters then? cos i thought it showed rooney celebrating, then the after celebration amongst the fans...
-
I remember when we knocked them out on pens, when Flowers ran the length of the pitch. The ground was barely half full. They were crap until sky came along and pumped loads of money in. I hope they implode!
united have been the best supported club in england since WWII, (bar 2 seasons) which includes 27 years without the title.

next weeks return should be something else
return of the flares...

The lad and his dad should be banned??? Well well cyber police I bet that lad has more Saints games under his belt than a hell of a lot of you slagging him off. Screaming about a nine year old you lot really are excelling yourselves now. Its hardly like he is trying to take the home end is it???? He loves the players and loves the club. Having seen a few photos and videos bounded around the past few weeks I think a few posters on here are a hell of a lot more cringeworthy to the club than a nine year old celebrating with the players. And now I know exactly why I have avoided this forum for a good couple of years
do one lance.
you're like a broken record!
-
Two Prem sides and 3/4 of the ground looked like that.
look at that one lone fan, in the bottom of the W seats!!!
"shall we sing a song for you". arf

Steve and Paul were the boxers and bouncers at the Pier and Raffles(ffs), it was Steve who got the stilletto in the head and is replayed on most sporting bloopers shows, unfortunately time has taken its toll and now only do security at Bar mitzvahs and childrens parties !!
that was said as a joke i take it:confused:
Saints V Man United - Post Match Reactions

Bloody hell!
The better team WON because if clinical finishing.
Stats wise it was almost identical.
As for support....we (united) didn't hear saints fans apart from when you scored.
It may have seemed to some of you that you were so loud, but honestly you're getting carried away with the occasion.
In the ground you were quiet, and outside on wembley way etc, like mice.
Hope this helps
