  1. Think we had just lost at home to Boro and WGS was asked by the dumb arsed reporter, "So, Gordon, in what areas do you think Middlesbrough were better than you today?"

The reply from WGS ... "What areas? Mainly that big green one out there..."

    Absolutely priceless.

  2. We stayed in Gale last summer which is just along the coast. Excellent beach there with good watersports and 3 very good restaurants on the beach, also in Gale is Scooby's (shows Sky Sports, has free wi-fi (our teenagers could get there fix of facebook etc) crazy golf and a good pool).

Did a day trip to Albuferia, excellent wide sandy beach just down from the old part of town, there are plenty of restaurants there with some nice little shops etc.

There is a large Waterpark, Aqualand at ALCANTARILHA http://www.aqualand.pt/en/aqualand-algarve/ which is not too far away and has a good range of slides and pools, we have been several time in the last few years.

You can't really go wrong in that part of the Algarve for beaches etc, enjoy.

  3. Certainly seems the target of having everything tied up by July 1st was utter b*ll*cks.

Oh FFS, I wish someone would tie you up. Maybe stop you posting drivel all the time. What is to stop everything being tied up by July 1st? IF we are targeting any players who are in action at the Confederations Cup then the final of that competition is on June 30th. Sure that any players involved in the final can fly into the UK the next day JULY 1st and sign on the dotted line. Neymar managed to play for Brazil against England and then appear in Monaco the very next day.

So 4,300 #Pompey season tickets sold after 3 weeks. 40 per cent up on this time last year. 30 per cent new buyers. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-fans-in-a-rush-for-season-tickets-1-5151261 …

Surely #factless #tactless Allen has missed a 1 off the beginning of the number sold. They must have sold more than that measly figure as they are the self proclaimed biggest and bestest fan owned club in the country.........

  5. Will be at Suncorp for the 1st Test.

KS, my lad is coming out to Brisbane on July 6th (just missing the Lions tour which he is gutted about) for 9-10 weeks to play rugby and probably drink a lot of beer! Is there a bar that shows Saints games on TV? Sure he would want to watch them if possible. Thanks.

  6. No.

Whilst he is still a Saints player he won't be around next season. Was just what we needed in League 1 and the Championship season, he is not a PL player. I fully expect him plus Chaplow, Sharp, Barnard, Seabourne and Martin who were the other loanees (are there others) to all be transferred out in the summer.

  7. From one of their boards today...... Cash flow problems already? Surely not!!

Pompey have moved the goalposts on Debit Card payment for season tickets - you no longer get a discount as if paying by cash or cheque.

I can't understand what's happened here. Debit card payment is usually treated as cash. Hope it doesn't reveal some unhappy relationship issues with any financial organisations.

  8. Another classic post on one of their forums berating Newport County.

Newport County celebrated a win at wembley meaning promotion to the football league after a 25 year absence. It raises a couple of questions for me.

They went out of the league 25 years ago and were subsequently liquidated, and formed a new club, were foreced to play outside of Wales and have built back up to where they are now. this being the case, can they really claim a centenary year this year? the original club may have been founded then, but this is a completely new beast surely.

The other thing is the admission of Welsh teams to the English Leagues. Now I am not against this per say, however the precursor to the wembley playoff final between Wrexham and Newport had two national anthems. the welsh, aparantly sung with great gusto, and the british national anthem which was roundly booed. If they want to boo our anthem should we tell them to buggar off back and play in the welsh leagues?

Now what is that about people in glass houses and chucking stones? Remind me how many different guises have there been of Cheats FC in the last few years due to all the administrations yet they still want to retain their albeit checkered history!

  9. could not agree more. Brian Moore struggles to get his head round many of the scrum infringements spotted by refs so how can joe public know what's going on?

Would anyone really have bothered going to see Tonga vs Argentina or something similar anyway?

No, he struggles with how the referees interpret the rules which is totally different. His beef is 9 times out of 10 with the referee and what they let go, the putting in of the ball in front of the second row is one. The Southern Hemisphere teams want to do away with the scrum as they have never been very good in that area, this coupled with the IRB constantly changing the rules etc have led to the mess that is often seen now a scrum time.

  10. Strange comment. My son's coaches have included a fireman, a former squaddie and a postal worker amongst others.

You've never actually been to a rugby match have you!

Spot on, sad deluded comment from AL with no basis of truth.

Hope he never goes, more champagne and caviar for me..... :-)
