  1. I ordered something from the States 3 weeks ago, it was sent by UPS, I got a card saying they had payed the customs duty of £6 and were charging me £10 admin.

I would love to know how to pay these fees up front and stop the B*****ds making so much. If it's not possible then I wont be ordering anything else from there.

  2. As usual these stories are not what they seem.

Quote:If parents aren't happy leaving their children - there are lots of other options open to them. In the town, there are 4 community centres, 5 children’s centres, over 40 areas of park and playgrounds, as well as a museum, two libraries... These are also free to attend and open to everyone.

  3. Does anyone have any idea how much your CC company charge you for using your card in Europe, whether using an ATM or a chip and pin.

I guess all companies are different, but I have a Mastercard and an AMEX...

It's not just the charge for the transaction, they usually put a charge on the conversion from Euros to Sterling as well!

Get a credit card from the Post Office - they don't place any charges when used abroad over the counter, but they do make a charge when you use it in an ATM abroad.

    I just take enough cash.

  4. Jon Gaunt, Adrian Durham and James Whale were IMO all pale comparisons to Tommy Boyd who could light up the switchboard in 5 minutes with some implausible idea and keep it going for 2 hours easily, winding everyone up and making you think you were the only one who knew it was a wind up. Used to listen every day.

Now the only thing I listen to are Hawksbee & Jacobs who are genuinely funny, the rest is rubbish.

  5. We were going late November but have had to cancel.

We were driving down and staying in one of the hotels by the Disney site, we found it was more expensive to book the chunnel via Disney.

Went 2 years ago and had a great time, good to take a day out in Paris as well.
