Agree with the comment about all too similar up front. Needed an Andy Carrol type player to give an extra dimension.

Killer, Pahars then Jesus (loved his down and dirty commitment).
I had an exam in the Channon Suite last week and there was a picture of Ostlund punching the air on the wall in front of me. Kept me going for my three hours.

Wow there really are a lot of unfortunate people out there. My fiancee has very little interest in football, but has absolutely no problem when I go to games or watch in on the tv when its on. She'll fake a bit of interest at England but thats about it.

If we want to challenge for another promotion, we need a few quality signings, surely that is obvious! We cannot rely on Jaidi, given his age, as our main CB partner for Fonte: maybe Martin or Seaborne could step up, but they're both unproven at this level, and if Fonte were to be injured we'd be f*cked. An experienced CB, preferably one with Prem experience, still young enough to have the speed and endurance for the long season, is absolutely required.
In midfield, we have some strength at CM, but another player there to provide competition for Hammond/Chaplow is highly desirable. Even more so, though, we need a winger: after Oxo and Lallana (assuming we can keep them) we are weak in this regard. Holmes is unlikely to be good enough & fit enough to play a major role, and Guly does not seem at his best in the winger role. A quality and versatile winger (one who can play on either side, ideally) is needed.
And let's face it, our striker options are thin. Lambert is very good, but untried at Championship level and a bit slow. And if he gets injured, what then? Barnard may or may not be available; Connolly may or may not be able to stay fit; Guly may or may not prove to be more than a bit part player, an impact sub. We need another quality striker to challenge for playing time and increase our options.
That's at least 4 signings I reckon we need, and that's the minimum. Anyone other than the author of this thread disagree??
I suppose if you are looking at the curent squad that includes Puncheon so there's your extra winger. Agree with you on the other three though. CB, CM and pacy striker.

You miss the point. The private sector is the wealth creator.
Thats a bit short sighted. Where do you think a large amount of the innovative ideas, technological advances and scientific breakthroughs that create wealth in this country come from. Research in the state funded higher education sector and in our many state funded research laboratories etc.
It annoys me when people make such a distinction between public and private sector as in reality the line is far from black and white, with most industries having a large degree of overlap. Contrary to many people's belief public sector jobs are now under more scrutiny than ever before (not complaining but thats how it is) and my job in the private sector was far less stressful than where I am now.

I am very concernd about our lack of activity in the transfer market. I hope it is the plan and not because we cant' or won't.
Without strengthening the squad I can only see a grim season ahead.
I have a feeling we'll be seeing foreign signings and not early on. There should be no doubt that we'll add a few new faces and Nigel said we'd be adding quality so no reason not to believe him just yet.

Did he run unapposed such as Blatter. This Al Qaeda just doesn't do democracy.

Away to Middlesborough as i'm out the country. Obviously a win for the Saints though. 1-2

I think you'll find they're all loaded and can easily afford the wage cut:

Burnley supporters seem to rate him from the comments on this article.

Who's upset?! signings like Jack Cork need financing...we have to live in the real world!
Exactly so if we signed him it may appease some on the people who are upset over season ticket prices. If we do not make any big signings on the other hand they may feel their criticism is justified.

I fear he will go to Swansea.
Brendan Rogers is the guy he looks up to having been bought through the Chelsea ranks by him.
Pity.....unless they are looking further afield.
Good point. Hadn't considered the Brendan Rogers link

A midfield of:
Lallana, Morgan, Cork, OXO
would be fantastic if we could keep it together for next year. Some might say a bit too lightweight and likely to be muscled out of it by Championship sluggers, but I'm not sure I would agree. Morgan is substantially tougher these days and Cork has matured as well.
Unfortunately, the Cork rumour is unlikely to true, as generally we never find out these days who we are signing!
Would be a real foundation for the future. With experience up front and in defence you could probably afford this type of Midfield. That being said those guys are young but apart from oxo you wouldn't call them inexperienced.

Adkins has been very very very poor in the transfer market so far imo
He's bought Chaplow who despite a couple of blips has been a good signing and Forte, who despite not looking awesome possibly saved our automatic promotion push. Think its a bit harsh to say he's been very very poor.

Two things:
A caller to a phone in on R5L last night said that governments have to sign a deal saying they will not meddle in any way in FIFA's affairs and that countries winning WC bids get tax breaks.
And Warner is now saying that MBH bribed FIFA to get the Qatari bid accepted. The Australian federation is demanding the costs of its bid for 2022 be returned.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13592684.stm
How much credence can be attached to Warner's statement is a moot point though.
Not a lot i think is the answer there, but if - and its a big if - he can provide any sort of evidence then its a different story. Guess it needs to be seen how legitamate these emails are.

But I assume the Liebherr family who inherited Mali, from Markus are involved in the Liebherr company that markus gave up his shares in?

I flew Air India in 2009 and have to say it was brilliant. 1 hour flight and they even had an edited movie to fit in the flight time. Great food as well. That would indicate to me that in fact the prices they charge do not cover what must be quite high costs associated with the good service.

Had my last one for four years (but had it repaaired twice) and now had the new one for a little over 18 months. Starting to notice it getting slower and the click pad sticks on occasions. Dont think it'll be four years this time, but paid half the price of the first one. Can get a laptop that does everything I need for around £400.

It's a Rugby region really. Even in Cheltenham they struggle to get much over 3,0000 for home games despite a population of around 100,000.
