  1. No most football fans are completly ignorant of what goes on outside their own club other than the top 4-5 PL clubs, it's like last season I couldn't believe how many other fans I talked to who still thought we were in admin.

Just to prove that statement I've only just realised Wallsall are lining up with Olly Lancashire at the heart of their defence, I wonder if he'll make it to half time?

  2. Taken from Bimingham mail

Pretty much sums us up this season.... Although it amazes me teams are still fearful of Ricky. Have they not heard?

  3. if we didn't have him you can bet your bottom dollar everyone would be saying we could do with a big man, skillful, good first touch, decent in the air, willing to chase the ball and perhaps play in the hole. In effect that describes Guly. Unfortunately he is not a goal scorer and he is not a right midfielder.

I'll agree with those two, the other three are debatable at best when it comes to Guly.

  4. I thought we played caggey with players fitness issues to throw off the opposition? maybe the club are just hinting to confuse the oppostion management as to the team we might play, then again maybe not. Rather have Barney playing than not playing though same with Chaplow.

  5. When the revolution comes, and I am the new Glorious Leader, Im taking all you lot out a to field and having you shot.

Stalinism Lives, fantastic hope you've got some five year plans sorted? Just remember it's not just your class enemies you need to get rid of but your former comrades in arms too. Dare I suggest you invest in an ice pick.

  6. ? Have you been on one of those trips under the pole?

Pardew was sacked for footballing reasons, Cortese has already stated that. During pre-season training Pardew was warned that his pre-season regime was in danger of doing more damage than good for the players, something that was relayed to Cortese but he did not interfere with the manager. I assume Les Reed had something to do with this, explaining Leftbacks position, but Reed was backed up by one of the medical staff.

When the season started and the players were less fit than when they went into pre-season + all the injuries, the writing was on the wall. Obviously by this time some had the knives out for Pardew and he had the look of a dead man walking when the damage was reflected on the pitch. The statement given out for his sacking is fully in line with this. This was not directly related to the playoffs, but something separate. That's not to say there may have been a certain cumulative effect in the decision, but it was triggered totally independently.

That is the bit that gets me why did he do nothing? if this all came to light in the summer it should have been sorted then and a new manager in place before the first match this season had taken place that way we could have avoid the wilkins era which could cost us come the end of the season, 9pts lost if you're generous and put MK dons down to Wilkins rather than Nigel.

  7. Why do so many people think certain players will be better against much stronger opposition? It's the same with Schneiderlin.

FWIW I hope this isn't true. Personally I think Guly is crap and have seen very little from him to warrant a permanent deal. We can do much better.

I was being sarky should have put a smilie

  8. I wouldn't be surprised if we have half the S****horpe side here come the end of January, it's all NA knows about.

Maybe Nigel has already tapped this guy up?

seems he doesn't want to discuss his future with the club right now.

Ha the link won't work becuase the site has edited out the middle wierd

Any way its iorns left winger Martyn Woolford seems he doesn't want to discuss his future with the club right now re a new contract maybe he has got something better lined up in Jan?.

  9. Interseting this was posted on the rumours thread yeasterday

Not much of a suprise but Im hearing Guly will not have his loan extended. unless of course NC overules Adkins.

Personally Guly doesn't do much for me so far think he has been a bit Meh, maybe he is another one of our players that will be better in the PL than league one?

  10. Could not believe we sacked Pardew, was not sure about Adkins but was happy to welcome him and hope for success under him. I think he is doing an ok job, but no better than I would think Pardew would be doing. I hope out of all hope we go on a good run and the whole fan base get behind him. I know in the staduim people are pretty happy with what he is doing, and only a few on here the minority that are unhappy.

I think out of the 30 thousand or so Saints fans only a few hundred are unhappy with him if that! This board really does give the wrong impression of the feeling towards him.

There was plenty of grumbling around me in the chapel on saturday mostly about us not trying to change things in the second half. Having said that there is alot of difference about grumbling about a poor performance and wanting the manager sacked.

  11. Which means he'd be prolific in League One. Really we should be looking at players that are s*** in the conference, as like Schniderlin they'd be much better at a higher level.

He was a talented player, he played well at championship level before he was injuried than never got given another chance, last season he was still one of our players and was playing well in the reserves, all I'm saying is I think we let him go to soon would to have liked him to have got another shot at the first team. We lack pace this season Mclaggon had it in spades. I'm not saying his PL quaility or anything.

  12. No, you're incapability to understand my point has nothing whatsoever to do with your dyslexia.

No out of my entire reply you managed to focus on my poor English skills to try invaldate my opinions. Tells me all I need to know about you really.

  13. 'Fair' is one of those idiotic terms favoured by LibDem spinners and their like. It is different from notions of 'justice' because it is essentially meaningless - or can be twisted to mean whatever you want it to. Why you should tie it to your is perfectly understandable. But did you ever in your life think things were worth changing - or at least trying to change them?

yet again my statement has nothing to do with politics, not lib dem, con or any other. Can anyone point me to a totally fair or (just if you prefer) system in this world. Where everyone is treated exactly the same regardless of age, health, gender where you live in the world I find it unlikely.

As for the rest you're obviously a far better human than me verbal (in fact I look forward to being regaled with stories of your world changing deeds). General I try to live a good life I'll help people who need help, I'm kind to animals and children (even students), I give to charity when I can afford it but most of all I look after me and mine. That is how it is in the real world call utter hoplessness if you like I call it being a realist.

  14. Beattie I'm sure would be an asset in League 1. Especially as he is very much in the Lambert frame and gives us another physical option so we can drop Rickie.

I see no point in keeping Guly if he isn't good enough. If you think he is good, that's you're opinion, but if you don't there's no point keeping him, even to sit on the bench.

Guly has 3 goals to his name this season. A decent striker would have about 10.

 Maybe not a dream, but him and one of the others would definitely stand us in good stead up front.

In fairness isn't Guly supposed to be an attacking midfielder?

  15. oh ok one more then - the good old tory battlecry! Shame Dave Camerons spin team wont let him rattle that one out at PMQs

What are you talking about there is nothing political in that statement. Life is not fair. Fair is a human concept one that usually means "I'm not getting what I want". Show me a fair system for fees then. Bearing in mind it must be fair to every single person in the uk. From youngest to oldest it must treat everyone who has been, is right now and will ever want to go to university the same. It must treat those that get better paid jobs the same as those that get bad jobs after uni. It must also be totally fair to all those that choose not to go to uni as well. Show me this holy grail of fairness, if you can I'll be the first to sign up.

  16. Frankly, you really are hoist by your own petard on this. If you complain about students' educational standards and then post punctuation-free paragraphs, you could easily be accused of not fully understanding the root causes of whatever it is you didn't like about them.

So becuase I'm a dyslexic who struggles with written English I'm incapable of understanding? Wow just wow that is really funny.
