  1. I think he has let himself down, the club down & Saints fans down with his behaviour.

Don't get me wrong the board are not blameless, but he signed a 5 year deal. No one put a gun to his head.

I am starting to really hate footballers & the money in the game.

Might stick to watching my lads play!

  2. If Shaw goes to Man Utd for £30m, that pays for the training ground. From that base we can build on what we have. We are a mid table Premier League team in almost every aspect apart from our ability to produce wonderful young players.

I dont see that changing any time soon.

I dont think Rickie would have left for any other club, but Liverpool.

I would much rather just get on with it & accept the 4 or 5 are going then rebuild. Find young hungry players who want to progress. Players like Redmond, Zaha, Caulker etc. I am sure all of them would join Saints if they played regularly.

No doubt we need a striker (or 2), Targett was being talked of as a better player potentially than Shaw 18 months ago. If it werent for injury he may have played instead of him. If Chambers goes we have Clyne. If Morgan goes we have Wanyama & Cork.

We will never pay the wages the top 7 clubs pay. NEVER.

We would never have offered MP a 5 year contract!

I am no happy clapper, but I am a realist.

We will survive, we may not play the great football we played last year? We may try a bit harder in the cups? We may leave someone up at corners? We may have some pace in the side? We may increase the size of the stadium?

We are not as big a club as Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool, Tottenham, Everton, Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle, Sunderland, Aston Villa etc. Accept it!

    Its all maybe's & ifs.

Lets just get on with it & deal with the consequences!!

  3. I have been pretty relaxed about all this gossip, but am now starting to get worried.

In fairness I could not criticise Rickie leaving for Liverpool. It's his boyhood club. The fee us a worry though. £9m - Great, £4m - Average.

Who could we get to replace him? That's the real worry.

  4. I can think of many reasons why it shouldn't be David Moyes, but for me I think I would go for him if I couldn't get Rosler.

I think Moyes would stay & build a team. A team that has to sell its best. Shaw will leave. Maybe not this year, but he will go.

Let's accept the reality that is Saints.

  5. Well he can **** off as far as I'm concerned! We would never give anyone a 5 year contract. He can **** it up & get his contract paid up. He's gone for the cash!

I lost a lot of respect & faith in him at Sunderland in the FA Cup. That was his fault IMHO.

I will never forget Anders Svensson kicking Tottenhams arse in the FA Cup. Hope we get to do that to those arrogant ******s again.

We move on & I'm actually really pleased its over now.

When the LMA ask that managers get time remind them that it works 2 ways. MP has shown absolutely no loyalty to Saints whatsoever.

    Hope he fails miserably!!

  6. Quality us important Becks. The kits cost silly money, but the only reason I buy them is that my lads wear them over & over again. They get washed at least twice a week. Better quality stuff lasts longer.

I don't want to be paying silly money fir something that falls to bits.

  7. Um, don't want to burst your bubble, but Cortese increased their initial investment into something worth around £150m, a fivefold increase in five years.

He also posted only a loss of 7.5m last season, and a massive increase in profits this year. So really, he wasn't relying on Katrina's Money and people need to stop beating him with that stick, you look like idiots.

Without Marcus Liebhers money he would never have been chairman! He needed his cash initially. He was a private banker. His job was to increase the wealth of wealthy people. That's what he was trying to do at Saints. You also ignore the debts that were replaced with equity (Liebher cash).

  8. Funny listening to the LMA talk about managers in the PL only getting 13 months. If MP goes after 18 months it suggests to me that managers want time when things are not going well, but want to leave as soon as more money comes along! Hypocrites!!

  9. I don't think any other club can really break into the upper ranks bar, perhaps, Newcastle & Villa. Our only real hope of glory is the cups.

Money has, alas, destroyed competition at the top of the league.

Which is quite interesting because MP let us down big time at Sunderland in the cup. Has everyone forgotten that?
