Well it was 700£ really.I just can't see the point, unless of course it's a forced sale, bank calling in a loan or something like that.
It may well have been a probate sale. There are a multiple of reasons - potentially.
IMHO a lot of business will go bust, including quoted ones. Getting 13.5p now is better than getting nothing in the future.

If Lowe is as Litigious as some have suggested - Why did he never sue South Today for the programme that suggested his acquisition of shares when Secure Retirement took over SFC was at the very best immoral & potentially illegal.
NickH posted the following on another thread:

I asked Nick a question which he did not answer on the thread - Maybe he would like to expand on his comments?
Admittedly the seriousness of what FF has suggested is very different, but Nick has suggested he is 'in the know' when it comes to Wotte's involvement & has yet (unless he wishes to correct me as i dont read every single posting on every single thread) not answered the question I asked OR told us exactly where he got his info from.

I'm not sure what's worse, the thought that a march is being organised by a 16 year-old living at home with his parents, barely past the age of legal responsibility, too young to even drive a car and with bugger all experience of life beyond going to school, let alone the first clue of what's involved in running a multi-million pound company.... or those people who are standing behind him and looking up to him in awe. And God only knows how he's finding the time to do his homework too.
At least the lad has a passion which is more than can be said for Wotte & lowe.
Why dont you keep on defending Lowe the business genuis as our share price hits 14p & value drops below £4m? OHH sorry you are.

Yeah just like WGS
And that is exactly why Strachan left! Did he ever have that hip operation?
-
Wotte, Lowe, Wilde, Jones, Askham etc etc etc can all ***** right off!
-
I agree. Why aren't we more like Man United? I blame Lowe.
I thought someone once said "We are the Man Utd of the South" ? Winder who that was?
-
Maybe he realised that Saints were in a financial mess from the Wilde debacle & decided it would be prudent to not commit Saints to a long term contract that they could not afford in either the Championship or Division 1?
Allowing Pearson to earn his new contract by keeping us up. Something that JP wont do (as he has been sacked) & Wotte is very unlikely to do.
-
If you remember Morgan's first interest was Liverpool. He could not afford them so did a deal for Wolves.
I am not sure if it was £30m or £25m, but there was a commitment to invest. Wolves of course had already had a rich benefactor who paid for their stadium & ensured they had no debt.
Thats sound nice - no stadium mortgage & zero debts! Why couldnt Jack heyward have been a Saints fan?
-
I cant understand why I feel underwhelmed with that sentence.
Maybe think about it a little longer & you may get an answer!

I think a lot of what you say is valid.Without a doubt had we stayed in the PL this would not be an issue now, but s### happens and for a lot of reasons we went down, some due to him. he was ousted by the Wilde bunch when he was struggling to cut the costs of a PL club that had built up its structure after 27years in the top league. You cannot do that immediately as we could have gone straight back up.
Allegedly when he was ousted there was £m's in our account and then the new lot who followed (it doesnt matter who ) then were reckless. Football first was the cry and i recall many saying 'lets go for it and worry later' wellwe lost the shirt off our backs due to spinning the roulette wheel and now RL has returned and getting the blame all over.Yes he made a big mistake in my eyes by keeping Jan too long and I worry that Wotte will not make things better, but the people who went in the past have a lot to answer for as well
There were indeed a number of reasons we were relegated, but the main reason was Rupert Lowe IMHO & as yet has taken very little or any responsibility for his actions.
You are right however that things would be different if we were still in the PL. The problem is we are not.

It has taken a very long time for me to agree with anything NickH has written, but in this post I think he asks some very sensible questions.
For a man as litigious as Mr Lowe - I have always wondered why he never sued South Today over the programme that aired when the nursing home reversed into SFC.
They posed some very serious questions & some serious accusations were made which Lowe never responded too.
Why did the board at the time not ask more questions? I include McMenemy in that also.
-
I dont think I would support anybody - other than England.
I would follow my lads around & watch them play. Middle lad is at Stoke so initially them, but if they ended up playing on the village green I would go there I think.
As Rupert said we dont want to do a Leeds!
-
You may have only had sole responsibility for the team for 3 games, but you cant expect to be judged on those results alone as you have been JP's side kick all season.
I urge you to ask for the return of either Rasiak or John & Dyer & at least give us a chance of remaining in this division. If Lowe wont sanction it simply walk away & try to re-establish some integrity.
-
How can you ignore Wotte's involvement with the team since pre-season. It is a completely different situation. I dont think Pearson is some demi-god, but Wotte & JP are one in the same IMHO.
-
Wotte played probably the " best" side that he could and made positive attempts to retrieve the game. It,s now come to the point where we just have to accept that the players/team that we have got is just not good enough for this league.
What a load of rubbish. I have never played in, watched or ever been associated with a team that accepts it is not good enough. Saints should & could be good enough to stay in this league. I tell you what - I wish I could take over - I think I would do a better job!
-
Why was it acceptable for Pearson then?
Probably because he inherited a situation without any prior involvement in it. Wotte has been an integral part of this calamity & I am not the biggest Pearson fan.
-
But we've been saying that after pretty much every game this season. I thought before tonight that given time we'd get out of it, but today was like Everton or Villa or WBA away last time we went down.
I actually feel a lot less stressed about things now I've resigned myself to it. It's the hope that kills you.
I've never really been anti or pro lowe, mainly as I don't particularly like him but couldn't see a viable alternative (especially after being taken in by the hope of Wilde a couple of years ago) and also, I get bored by the boardroom politics (I'm a football fan not a businessman fan), however he is so divisive and has caused so many people to desert us in our hour of need that it's time for a change, even if it is to Crouch and there is no more money.
We need something to galvanise the club and the fans and, short of Paul Allen sailing up Southampton Water tomorrow, Lowe stepping down might be the only option.
I admit I am very anti Lowe, but I have to say that is one of the most sensible posts I have read in a long time.
We may have changed the name on the managers door, but the problems are identical. The starting line up shows just how utterly inept Wotte is. I dont care if he is 3 games in. I have given so many of Lowe's appointments time to prove themselves, but after a while you cant keep backing the Lowe & Wildes stupid decisions without asking questions.
I hope I am wrong & Wotte proves me wrong!
-
My middle nipper has been training up at Stoke & I get to find out a fair bit of info about them even if I did take the **** out of Delap & the fact that someone is Southampton managed to sell Higgy a Lincoln Navigator!
The coaches there reckon that Pulis can actually play. The problem has been he seems to be constantly injured. He had a hard time because he was the managers son, but they reckon he could do a job in the Championship.
I suppose we should wait & see, but it does appear a very odd signing.

The child catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!
-
No but the scout from the club he is going to was.
Another mercenary off the books, thank you Rupert.
The biggest mercenary at Southampton Football Club is Rupert bl00dy Lowe!
-
Or David Prutton.
David Prutton was another player badly treated by Burley & SFC. Our midfield would have been considerably better had he & oakley still been together - in fact it would be better than what we have now!

Comparing market caps at the current time is a bit pointless, they are dozens of companies whose prices have dropped 90% on no news. But if you're going to do it then it would be worth commenting that Watford and Preston have had 2 of the wealthiest owners in English football in recent years and (I think) a hell of a lot less debt.
Only they didn't list at £1, they listed at 46p. The current share price is barely lower than when we beat Spurs 4-0 and started our road to Cardiff and 8th place in the league - hard to believe given our fall to the bottom of the CCC and a mountain of debt.
Are you trying to imply there is normally a positive Beta correlation between the Saints share price and the FTSE100? Or were you just trying to start more rumours?
The share price movement is absolutely meaningless and irrelevant to anything other the opportunity for certain types of fans to spread daft rumours - shares like Saints can appear to move 10% without a trade even changing hands. As it happens, several spread betting companies have changed their margins again this week so it's possible some punters are having to close their long positions - this will have a general affect on small caps (possibly why AIM All Share is lower than the FTSE100 in relative terms this week). A complete non-event.
I have a porspectus here that states £1!
-
Value by Market Cap now is £5.3m!
Watford £3.5m
Preston £4.1m
Millwall £6.4m
Birmingham £16.7m
Celtic £34.5m
Spurs £75.4m
So when the club was listed at £1 we have seen a drop in value of over 80%. God Mr Lowe is some kind of financial genius!

Great result, great run of 3 wins. Still going to be very tough to stay up. I have to say I did not want Wotte, but he is getting the results we so desperately need so fair play to him. If only we could have had Saga, Euel, Skacel & a proper centre half at the start of the season.
