  1. I've done it twice - 2008 and 2010. Second time didn't seem quite so bad, maybe because of knowing what to expect. It'll be the longest minute of your life and you'll absolutely sh** yourself - unforgettable experience though, well worth it. I concur with Lighthouse, you really do need to keep your head up due to the g-forces - I didn't the first time and nearly passed out!

Oh, and make sure you get the video "evidence" afterwards

  2. Too sweet (for my taste). As SO16_Saint says, there's little or no non-sweet cold drink option available to non-drinkers ergo drinking something that roughly tastes like lager is a decent enough compromise.

This, plus after ten cokes I've got such a caffeine buzz I'm probably not safe to drive anyway!

  3. Now I live up in Durham I'm "lucky" enough to actually have some choice as to which train company I use (East Coast, Cross Country, TransPennine Express and Northern Rail depending on where I want to get to). You'd think there would be good competition on fares but in practice they're all much the same and seem pretty expensive for what you get. East Coast use ancient, filthy, unreliable trains whilst the others use modern, filthy, unreliable ones! I'm not certain where I stand on the EC reprivatisation but I'm utterly unconvinced that there will be a significant improvement. On the plus side most of the train and station staff are friendly and helpful but I think that's more of a Northern thing anyway...

My wife is German and can't believe how much we pay for such a shoddy "service" in this country. Take a Deutsche Bahn train and it will be clean, punctual and a fraction of the cost. What are they doing right that we can't?

  4. Fine work in reaching the magic 100,000 Nutjobs, but unless the Skates can sink lower than being in the bottom division and losing to a non-league team, this thread can only now chart their slow climb upwards.

    Or maybe not ?

Anyone see any fat, singing ladies? :-)

  5. Has anyone considered that they *might* sort themselves out before we reach 100000 and become a humble well-run example to us all?

    ...

Based on the evidence thus far it doesn't look that promising does it...

  6. And on top of that, let us continue to ignore Bompey down the road (which annoys the hell out of them).

And then thanks to agent Artur, next season the fishy ones will look upward in apoplexy when El South Coast Classico gets played in the EPL between us and the Play off winning Bompey boys while they look forward to a bumper local derby with Eastleigh.

Now THAT set of circumstances would be a way to celebrate 2500 pages of this thread

    This, please!!! :D

  7. Where as what they do is pick up rejects from other cubs, chuck them into their first team as there's no-one else, give them a chance to look mediocre in the middle of L2, argue about selling them for decent money whilst allowing their contract to run down and then finding out no-one wants them anyway whilst proclaiming that they've found the bestest player in the world. Exactly the same innit mush?

You forgot whilst not paying them
