I've now had 4 different trials... just used different email addresses each time. They don't actually require you to verify your email address or 'activate' anything, so you can have ans many free trials as you like *****il they realise...!)
Interesting insight into the backstage goings on after a game. Cameras kept rolling on AJS for two interviews with poch. Lots of shots of feet and presenters staring down the camera waiting to be counted in

Adam has mentioned this loads in the past and refuses to change the way he says it as that's how he's always said it.

No luck recently with either Hola or Smart DNS. Looks like this gravy train has crashed. Gutted, it was a top service, much more comprehensive than crap like SKY and BT etc.
On Saturday I will therefore be watching Soton on some jerky, highly pixelated, ad filled dodgy stream, while my pals who live in Hong Kong and USA (etc) will be watching in glorious HD. Bit of a joke that in order to gain access to all the English premiership matches one needs to emigrate from England.
Well said. We really do need to catch up in this country. If Sky or Virgin offered every premier league game online for £15 a month pretty much every household would snap it up so they wouldn't be losing money I'm sure.

Fights
in The Saints
Matey in Itchen north was taken down by 5 or 6 coppers who had to punch him in the gut to get him down. Hit the steps like a sack of sh1t, much to the amusement of the wham fans. He's was second one to be taken out and was almost a third for smoking and being gobby I believe.

Shame.
Seen comments about him coming back a better player and next season being his season with saints, but how often do players actually come back and play more of a role than before they left?!
-
Reverse it and I'm in

I remember thinking during the game that we were making a lot more long ball passes than usual.

Most of the time I used the streams that had a lot of popups and crap and the live stream was not that good.
This is 1000000% better.. much clearer.. plus you can pause it or rewind to.
You can use Adblock in chrome to stop the pop ups
-
I have hola on chrome. Will that work?
Yep. On PC/mac but I'm guessing not on iPad

First row was illegally re broadcasting copyrighted content, that's why. There no law to stop us accessing content from another country. There are restrictions on the companies selling to people outside of their territories , but that's what the DNA hack gets around. There is no legal way this could ever be blocked at the ISP level.
Going to be a good season then
I may have got over not renewing my season ticket already

Did anyone get it working from an ipad with the app from the egypt itunes store? Mine worked, but the stream was very bad and dropped off to audio only. Seemed to work for other sports e.g. Ping pong but as soon as the epl games came up, quality really dropped off.
I didn't have to get mine from Egypt App Store. Just changed the billing country to Egypt and it downloaded and worked fine after changing DNS setting on ipad
-
Quite possibly. I just find it mental that they don't offer a similar service in this country. In terms of convenience it is brilliant.
Would prob cost so much more if it was uk service.
The last couple of days have showed how many people are prepared to pay for such a service though.
-
Me too. So glad I didn't get a season ticket.
Can't help but think it won't last the season
ISPs have already tackled firstrow

Working again now

Seems a good time to crack open this new beer I found earlier...

I get sky blocking first row site due to copyrightSky have blocked first row through their broadband. Bastards. Time for a new isp I think.
Time to sign up to Al Jazeera it would seem

HD6 is HD quality for me and with English commentary. If possible avoid wireless and use an ethernet cable for your connectivity.
Tried that. Think its more the refresh rate or the stretching of the resolution on the tv. Pretty decent tv though so would have thought the refresh rate would be ok.
Guess it comes down to the laptop graphics card and the hdmi port capabilities.

So I'm watching the Liverpool stoke game with laptop connected to tv by HD cable and the video is a bit juddery but audio fine. It's better on the laptop itself. I'm guessing this is cos its being blown up on the 32" tv? Any tips from anyone on improving this?

I like to think of myself as fairly switched on and not too bad at computers but a few of you have made it sound as if it is child's play setting this up. I was up till 5am this morning trying to get this sorted including spending an hour on their 'live chat' online assistance which was absolutely ****ing useless by the way! Their operators took 5 minutes to respond to your question and assume that you have a doctorate in IT with how they talk to you. I eventually insisted that they cancel my subscription to Overplay which I had just signed up with as I was getting nowhere and getting more and more frustrated.
Tried that. I get lost at the point where it says I should be changing my 'local area connection' as I am connected through a Wireless network connection (Virgin Media) so my local area connection and local area connection 2 are not being used? When I click on the wireless network connection it doesn't give me options to change IP numbers or anything.
Problem with this (correct me if I am wrong) is that I wont then be able to watch it on my iPad which is the main one for me.
Does this mean that I wont have to fack around with entering in different codes, switching DNS's and messing around with IP's. I'd happily pay a bit more per month to just have something which does it without messing around as I am clearly not technical enough to work out what to do.
I am having the same problem as someone has mentioned above though on my iPad, it say authentication failed or something.
You can change the DNS address if you're using wireless and should be the same method as local area connection if windows is handling your wi-if rather than a third party app. What version of windows?
When you were registered to overplay did it show you as up and running and give you the DNS address to use?
You can completely forget about VPN as its not needed at any stage.
Sign up to overplay SmartDNS
Log into overplay and get DNS address from my account page
Change wifi/local area DNS setting to above
Register on Al Jazeera site
Watch
Alternatively, rule out the overplay bit all together as others have mentioned and add the Hola add on to chrome. This will only work on PC/mac though as far as I'm aware

Has anybody set up overplay on a dd-wrt router? That looks interesting.
I already have a dd-wrt flashed router so ill set the Overplay DNS address on there today
-
Got this working ok on my laptop but all attempts for IPhone/iPad have failed.
Managed to get the app from Egypt store, logged in ok but when I try to watch anything live get the message 'Unfortunately you are not able to watch this due to rights restrictions'
Suspect this is something to do with Overplay, been through the set up many times with same results. I did only buy the SmartDNS option and not the full VPN, is this crucial for IPad? Has anyone got it working and which did you buy??
Have you changed your DNS address in the IPad network settings?
-
Well that was easy! Thanks
-
subscribe to Al Jazeera directly, costs £12 a month or £120 for the season. ALL Premier League games, champions league, La Liga, Bundesliga... (list is endless really). Streamed through a laptop the quality is close to HD with no buffering etc (this all depending on your internet speed).
Is it £88 for the VPN plus the £120 for the season? Do you need a static IP for this incase your public IP address changes and messes up the DNS link?

Deserved flack. I've never dealt with a company so inept at dealing with customers as BT. A communications company should be able to answer a phone, at the very least.
Working alongside their "engineers" is also very painful at times.
