  1. I must confess i do love the reduced to clear shelves.

And i never go by use by dates and trust my nose to see if food is off.

I've never been ill through food poisoing, on the contrary i believe eating food close to turning is good for you as it keeps the immune system working.

The biggest problem with todays society is that so many live in a sterile bubble that they let their immune systems become suseptable to germs.

  2. I'm glad there has been some serious debate on this thread. Some questions still niggle away at me -

I would still like to know why Fry gave Pinnacle exclusivity 3 days after Liebherr made his initial offer and just how did Lynam and Co manage to convince Fry they were genuine buyers with funds when the best they could do when it was time to put up or shut up was to push Fialka into the spotlight.

I would also like to know just how far MLT investigated Pinnacle and who was behind them before he allowed his name to be put forward as their public face and also why Lynam was given permission to address the players at Staplewood.

I think we are all delighted at what eventually happened with the purchase by Liebherr but I think there is a massive case of "there by the grace of God" about the whole debacle and Fry now picking up an award does seem a little bit fraudelent.

I heard from an excellent source that Cortese and Liebherr were far from happy at the way the whole thing was handled, which fits in with Coretese's interview in the Echo and speaks volumes when compared to an award.

The whole Pinnacle/Micky Fialka thing is very suspect. It makes no sense because Fialka makes that Pompey arab look like J D Rockefeller. I doubt we'll never know the truth. I know it's a bit far fetched but the only explanation i can think of for Frys behaviour was to milk the situation and drag things out.

  3. Why is it that every 19C contribution involves either slagging off MLT, Lawrie or Leaon Crouch?

We already know your views 19C, we've heard them over and over and over again.

I apologise for this post as i've comitted the cardinal sin of replying to the attention seeker, but i'm just sick to death of his nasty and vile trolling.

  4. Indeed, I have no problem with him getting a pat-on-the-back either.

On balance, we should be grateful to him

For those of us who listened to the BBC Solent fans forum and heard Nicola Cortese's comments on Fry it is clear that he thought Fry is an utter ****. I trust Nicolas judgement slightly more than yours.

    http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=16759

    Sounds like Fry ****ed about.

They had the 500k ready to go in late may.

All bank transfers agreed - but Fry called them and said that he'd given ''Pinaccle'' the exclusivity.

On May 22nd at 3pm Liebherr made a firm offer to buy the club.

    Damn that Pinnacle bid!

Liebherr lost 3 weeks because of the Pinnacle fiasco.

ML turned up on May 27th and ready to go into exclusivity, but just lost out - then had to wait. Not sounding too complimentary about the adminstrators.........

Nicola said that it didn't seem like the administrators wanted them

they kept pushing the swiss away and putting obstacles in the way.

    Painting Mark Fry very badly.

Sounds like we could have been sorted out by mid June until Fry Gave exclusivity to Pinnacle. NC saying beer prices not top of his prioritys know. NC now saying we are debt free.

They nearly walked away because "they weren't wanted". Thank god they didn't!!

Cortese basically calls Mark Fry an incompetent dickhead. (obviously not the words he used ;)). Also Tony Lynams consortium stopped us having a pre season under Marcus Liebherr and almost stopped the deal happening because of their time wasting.
  5. thing..many of these posts are started to prove a point to another poster rather than celebrate what we have done over the last 5 weeks or so

And that was exactly the way I took the original OP.

Get over yourself Alpwhine. The forum doesn't revolve around you.

Had i been able i wanted to start a similar thread to this to comment on Saints now having a winning mentality - something the club has never had in the 20 or so years i've been a supporter.

Last season i was totally demoralised with Saints and even stopped going to games because of "he who shall not be named". Now i've refound my passion and have been to loads of games already this year.

Football is fun again and after all we've been through it's fan-fvkcing-tastic.

If all you can do is moan and whinge and grumble during these good times then i feel sorry for you.

  6. It's not an opinion. You cannot induct anything' date=' you cannot be certain of anything, everything can be looked upon with reasonable scepticism, to believe in anything requires FAITH in your senses, in your observations, in the testimony of others.[/quote']

You are correct in what you state, and science and common sense clearly tells us that apples grow on apple trees, night follows day, and the dinosaurs were around long before adam and eve. Yet some of the more wacky christians (sorry to stereotype but we're talking mainly Americans here ;) ) dispute evolution and claim man was around at the same time as T-Rex.

  7. Yet again another post from a non-religious person on this thread trying oh-so-hard to belittle those with religious views. And yet, not a single person who has said on here that they consider themselves religious has gone anyway towards insulting (or trying to) those who don't share their views.

An interesting tagent to this thread, Im sure you will all agree.

I'm genuinely intriged how you can believe the bible as i just don't get it. I used to believe in father christmas when i was about 4 but eventually i twigged it was dad that used to eat the mince pie and drink the sherry.

  8. Modern religion (christianity/Islam/Judaism etc) is means used to exploit the weak. Essentially a profit making enterprise which prays on fear.

In the case of Christianity there is the bible which is simply a book of propaganda written by monks years after the supposed events. If a bible was to be written today for a new religion you could quite easily substitute Jesus with a 9/11 bomber or such like because one persons terrorist is another persons freedom fighter and Jesus was terrorist in my opinion. I state this because i choose to believe his trial was justified over and above believing biblical propagnda written years later to fill a void caused by the collapse of the Roman empire. The Roman empire loses influence and the Roman Catholic church pops up - what a coincidence.

That all said if some choose to believe and they take comfort in their beliefs who am i to critisise their ignorance.

  9. You have a point, I don't care about their other policies either. That is because they are a vile, racist party who preach hatred and violence. If you vote for them, you support hatred, violence and racism. There are no two ways about it. They are disgusting people.

As oposed to the Labour lot that put feathering their own nests before any principles.

Take John Denham, the "comunities secretary". This is the man that attacks the BNP at every opportunity yet had no quarms about handing in an expenses claim totalling £87,729 between 2004/5 and 2007/8 – including£1,590 for two armchairs, £475 for an “Alana” rug and £474 for six kitchen chairs.

As far as i'm concerned Denham and his Ilk are in no position to lecture the electorate.

  10. I vote BNP because i support their stance on immigration. As for their other policies then who cares? Essentially all the BNP are is a focus group much like the Green Party party is a focus group. Neither party will ever gain power, but events such as the election of Nick Griffin and Andrew Brons brings the issue of immigration into the spotlight. Politicians from all the main parties, but more so the Socialists, are outraged that the electorate dare to vote for the BNP and this attitude also hardens my resolve to continue to vote for them.

  11. I have read in a couple of places that Orient had done their homework on us and knew exactly where to hit us last week, and as a result we dropped 2 points.

What complete and utter rubbish. Orient didn't "hit us" - they got two soft goals.

  12. i didn't watch Question Time the other week, so i cannot comment on anything relating to it....what i DO want to say however is aimed at the chavvy little scrotes who were drinking outside the pub (i forget it's name now) in Bethnal Green today......(i am posting this on here as i didn't want to poison the feel-good factor of the Orient post-match thread.

i politely request that you f*ck right off away from decent Saints fans if you want to chant at the tops of your voices "B.N.P. , B.N.P".!!

WTF has THAT got to do with supporting OUR football team??

i don't want to hear that sh1t being bellowed out, like some kind of war-cry, so that passers-by then associate MY football team with being a racist bunch of seeyounexttuesdays!!........you just make yourselves look complete c8cks and embarrass the rest of us who actually HAVE more than 2 brain cells to rub together!....

if you think it's THAT clever and that you have every right to do it then stand up for your beliefs and all 15 of ya go and walk through the streets of Brixton and do it, rather than staying in the relative safety of fellow fans and numerous police officers......

Football supporters are generally young, white, and working class. It's this section of society that has suffered the most under the Socialists so it is hardly surprising that they feel angry. Blair deliberately opened up our borders to import fresh Socialist voters without any consideration for the native unskilled workers who have seen their standard of living drop as a direct result. Couple that with Prudence Browns mismanagement of the economy and we have rising unemployment and resentment. When we get a Conservative government back the damage can begin to be fixed, but 12 years of Socialism is not mended overnight and it'll take many years for this country to mend Broken Britain.

  13. Walking back to Leyton tube station my attention was drawn to a group of Saints lads chanting EDL. Serious question to those on the left that have monopolised this thread - what would you have done if you'd been there and heard them?
