  1. http://brexitcentral.com/no-surprise-blair-referendums-breaking-promises/

An interesting article on the arch-hypocrite Blair and some good reasons why his intervention into the Brexit debate at this stage has been met with howls of derision, even from his former cohorts, Blairites in the Labour Party. It's a shame he doesn't recognise that he is yesterday's man, spouting yesterday's platitudes.

But I welcome his intervention for one reason alone; his arrogance in insinuating that those who voted to leave the EU didn't understand what the implications would be, is a gift to the Brexiteers, whose resolve to leave will have been hardened against the EU.

If there is anything that drove the British public to vote leave it was Blair campaigning to remain before the election. The guy has long since reached legendary status in the combination of his complete absence of any self-awareness and his deliberate ignorance of how universally hated he is from all sides of the political spectrum.

I don't think there is a more powerful political force in Blair campaigning for one thing will guarantee the British public will vote in their droves to do the polar opposite

Naturally there are complaints from the Remoaners that the BBC is biased towards the Brexit position. That is their ruse to pretend that they are hard done by and therefore the BBC must be balanced in its coverage, but of course, it plainly isn't.

Wouldn't be anything to do with it receiving millions in EU funding in the run up to the referendum, and trying to declare it in the books as "other grant income" would it?

  2. There is a huge problem with hooliganism over there but a lot of it is highly organized.

I very much doubt Putin will want it all to kick off when the world's eyes are on his country. If he has to he'll press the right buttons and certain individuals will disappear for the duration of the world cup.

The racism issue is the one I think could rear it's ugly head

  3. You have to be very careful not to categorise all the "homeless" as the same. They'll be from all walks of life.

There are homeless people out there where if you gave them £1 million today, they'd be back in exactly the same predicament in 18 months/2 years. Then again there are also homeless people who have tried to do everything right/gone through a run of unfortunate life events that would result in pretty much anyone ending up in the same situation. Each individual will have their own very unique story.

  4. Odd that all these disenfranchised and angry young men all happen to be members of the same religion.

Is the religion the cause or merely a tool being used?

Islamic State are called 'Islamic State' for a reason. Commit 10000 atrocities with that name and people will eventually think it's 'Islam'. Tell the same lie 10000 times and people will think it's true.

They don't even have to rely on immigration, with social media they can brainwash/recruit anyone with the right psychological structure/life experience anywhere. Break them down, play their anger/psychopothy like a violin, mentally separate them from the world around them and after some careful brainwashing/grooming you've got a teenager/relatively young person lacking critical thinking skills driving a truck at a large crowd of innocent people.

  5. question for everyone.

say we beat liverpool with yoshida playing both legs of that semi- and thus meaning hes played all our minutes in the league cup this season

would you start him or fonte at wembley?

Given that he's outperformed Fonte for most of this season, Yoshida

  6. Tom Heaton had to pull off 3 or 4 outstanding saves to keep it down to 3-1, we were so dominant it was ridiculous.

Romeu & VVD were absolute quality, McQueen looked like he'd been playing PL football for years.

Austin was terrible in the first half but got a lot better in the 2nd half. Redmond was very good, took his goal extremely well.

  7.

I am delighted for Puel. His tactics both before and during a match seem to be pretty good. Nice to hear Henry complimenting him as a perfectionist, as had Wenger before him. Both know him well and respect his abilities. I am certain that we won't be hearing much from the usual bed-wetters who predicted an early sacking for him and a relegation fight on our hands. I won't be expecting any acknowledgement from them any time soon that they might have been a bit hasty.

Have to say I totally agree.

I wasn't convinced by Puel early on but since the Arsenal game something has clicked. His system just didn't work at first but he's made tweaks and fair play to him, he's got us playing so much better. It's been helped by one or two players getting fit again but it's all coming together.

Winning 3-0 despite playing badly for 40 minutes of the game is an encouraging sign
