Guthrie wants first team and left Newcastle because he didn't think there's much space for him. Worth a go if we can make the space for the guy.
-
Was under the impression Real Madrid offered him another year in the B team to develop because there isn't space in the first team for him yet. A bit like when we offloaded Paul Wotton to give Gobern a space in the first team, but Real cannot do that this season.
5m price tag is because they know he's good, just not displace anyone at Real good just yet, but don't want him to feel stifled as an individual by forcing him to stay in the B team. Pretty reasonable of Real to give him the reasonable choice of what to do with his future like that.
Either way if we are in for him it might upset the balance of numbers upfront...

Think he said he wanted to stay on at Hull' date=' where he ended last season. Think we're a better option if we were to be interested though.[/quote']
Ah that's cool, didn't think Hull had that much money free for this season. He's the right sort of age (and qualifies as home grown from being at Arsenal from 18-21), wouldn't be a bad understudy to Davis.
Another suggestion would be Marco Verratti who set Seria B alight last season, really doubt we'd get him but would be worth a go for... (was talking to a friend who's big into Italian football who say's he's the new Pirlo)

Vito Mannone has been released by arsenal and is a pretty decent young (italian) keeper on FM
bart replacement?
-
Considering we have been looking to splash 7m on Hooper or Rodriguez we have to assume there's something double or tribble that (20m odd) there to spend, maybe more if we can get the right deals, plus a lot of space in the wage budget to accommodate some new signings.
Got a feeling this is one of those seasons where "how much" isn't really of interest but who and how quickly can they integrate into the squad is much more important.

A bloke down the pub recons he heard Nigel Adkins on his phone saying that he will increase his offer for some South American chap called Naymaaar for £20M ? ? ?
Heard Adkins wasn't listening to Cortese on the phone and that £20M is for Hazard

Proves how turd goal.com is. Mentions all our links (Jay Rod to Jarvis) then says our budget is likely to be 5m.
Also mentions we're in competition for Ricardo Fuller and Kenwyn Jones.....
Scott Dann also mentioned.... And should be left as just a mention, no point in signing him

I have a question, my studentship expires soon after the ticket release. If I turn up with my council tax exemption letter and proof of enrolment can I purchase my ticket at concession rate, even if I am no longer a student in during the course of the season? Any ideas? Is it what I am at the time of buying?
Last season my old student card ran out end of September, but the season ticket is sold at concession price at point of sale (not life of the ticket) so as long as you can prove you are enrolled on June 6th when they go on sale they will sell at concession rate
I have to do the same this year (still a student thankfully)

He's not so good on FM12 though...
-
Lots of noise coming out of Villa that Agbonlahor will leave this summer, would love us to be in for him. Exactly the sort of pacey striker we're missing. Still young, and just in need of a confidence boost.
Might as well just go all out and bid for Wallcott again...
Both quick and utterly useless

They aren't even the best rumours from today...
Confirms Dorgba is ours!!!
-
Considering you'd be supporting Wigan, I think paying £255 instead of being payed £255 is a bit much...
-
Ryan Nelson ex Blackburn central defender. I know he is getting on but great player out of contract. Could play another season and would settle the back line.
Definitely not, too old and no better than anyone in our team. Probably the weirdest transfer ever him going to Spurs over christmas in the first place but Owen has more of a place in our squad than him.
Craig Gordon trending on twitter, seems like every fan of all 92 league clubs want him to sign, supposedly the red hot favourites to sign him are..........Ipswich!!91 clubs, doubt Sunderland want him back just now....
-
QPR and who ever wins the playoff final tomorrow (Blackpool won't get the players, West Ham won't be able to offload the wages for rubbish) and either West Brom (if they make the wrong manager choice and sell to fund squad shaping) or Wigan (who can't get luck that many times)
-
McFadden is the only one I've heard of. Rest youth/reserve players?
Hahnemann was their back up keeper, played at wolves for two seasons before, had one good run of form in 09/10 but was appalling 10/11.
At 39 he really isn't worth a look (won't be like Friedel getting better with age)
-
Craig Gordon -free yes please
Reo-coaker -free yes please
I thInk if I was to go for an ambitious signing/loan or two
Aquilani? He's Italian after all LOL...
Jo Man City forward?
De Santos wasted at Spurs IMO
David Bentley assuming he's injury free
Jermain Jenas?
Gordon - Injured a lot
Reo-Coker - not a bad idea for a free
Aquilani - injury prone
Jo - left man city last summer back to Brazil to try and revive his career
De Santos - 6m-8m Spurs wanted from a spanish team for him, probably too much....
Bentley - Would fail the personality test
Jenas - yeeeeeeeno

3.5m for Rhodes! http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/jordan-rhodes-set-for-fulham-move-836522
Shame its Fulham, but that actually seems a realistic price...
-
We are not a bunch of uncilivilised morons. We should see if he floats first.
Or find out if he is heavier than a duck!
-
Saw he fired his agent to try and sort out a move too! Pretty sure we are deliberately making his life a misery by not bowing down to his childish attitude....
-
Kyle Henry and Ebanks-Blake just for this game http://www.soccerclips.net/videos/wolves-v-newcastle-motd-highlights-2010
Henry murdering Barton (quite rightly) and Ebanks-Blake for the goal....
-
Not totally accurate. He reckons Nugent is not a disgrace...
I think you miss read sarcasm on the internet....
Either way Barton is a disgraceful excuse for a professional footballer. His first lash out was just funny (as always) but his response to it to be a hard man was pitiful, never should be allowed to play in professional football
-
So long as he passes the personality test he ticks pretty much all the boxes, right sort of age, price and doesn't have the biggest ego (probably).
Just hope he would be content to fit into the wage structure.
-
How about Bendtner? Got a bit to prove.
Will probably want 50k per week and is the self proclaimed "best striker in Denmark" or something...
Could be a good player but not sure he'll pass the "no idiots" rule for the squad

The old yellow and dark blue
Another international goalie?...
in The Saints
Posted
Eire is the Irish name for the whole island, Fred Kiernan represented the Republic of Ireland in international football...
