The cheapest I can find the macbook for in the UK is £657 for the 2.1Ghz version.
Same spec Dell with the 9 cell battery is £549.

Also currently posting - first impressions are that it looks like an application an amateur would make. Seems pretty slow also - maybe it will speed up as it starts to cache.

Fancy putting the question forward for me? Dont have a login over there and cant seem to make one, i wanna know if i can load FM09 onto a Virtual Hard-drive through Windows Virtual P.C and run it?
FM08 loaded but then had an error message when i loaded it up saying it wasnt supported in a Virtual Environment.
Its really so i can play it on a works laptop without work actually seeing it loaded, if you know what i mean!
try using this - http://juice.altiris.com/svs
You can install it in a virtual directory system. It only shows up if you open the SVS app and turn on the FM install.

Well you may as well have no password as the script I have just removes the password completely. Encryption may be the way to go but its a pain.

Site offline now...shame!

I have recently solved an issue my dad had with his laptop - he forgot his password. Upon doing a google search I came across several methods for changing/removing the user passwords on both Vista and XP very easily.
I used one of these solutions to not only blank out his user password but also to enable the administrator user and blank its password.
So my conundrum is - what is the best way to secure a laptop/pc?
My easiest solution is to enable the hard drive password in the bios, anyone care to add to my possibilities?

Stratosphere Tower & rides in Las Vegas apparently. No thanks.
Been on that rollercoaster and also the ride on the spire. F***ed if I would go on it again....
As for the Burj Dubai you can see the spire from 60 miles away apparently.
In comparison to other buildings -
This will pail into insignificance once they start on the Murjan Tower in Bahrain - due to be 200 floors and 1022m high!

Bournemouth to Solihull and back for a weekend...
Just me...and possibly another...
In that case - whoever gives you the cheapest deal out of the big companies.

Never had any issue with any recognised car rental company - Use Hertz regularly for work, used Europcar, Avis, Alamo, National, Budget - all fine. Where are you renting? If in Europe then Holiday Autos can have good rates at the normal holiday places. I have booked through Ebookers and expedia previously too. I usually book the cheapest for wherever I am heading - as long as its with one of the big companies mentioned above.

yeah I had my suspicions too as the prices were all very similar. Lots of auctions won at £279

just found that Canon sell refubs on ebay - http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Canon-Outlet_Canon-EOS-SLR-Cameras_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZ3QQftidZ2QQtZkm
Prices seem decent so will try and grab one.

Thanks for the recommendations - I have started searching ebay, amazon etc for second hand Canon 400D. Any other places online that sell second hand kit?

I am looking to purchase my first DSLR and am looking for recommendations. Budget wise I want to spend no more than £500 including lens. Will be doing a whole mix of stuff - portraits and landscapes etc so need an all purpose lens to start with.
Cheers

Ahhh - never mentioned Windows! As Steve has stated he can use Linux - which would actually make the price of the dell cheaper. I actually wasn't making a statement for or against either platform - just posting prices.
I have not used a Mac for many years - I work for IBM and today XP is the standard although we can also use Vista and both Redhat and Ubuntu on an unofficial basis. If I were a US employee then IBM would pay me to buy a Mac!
