It doesn't look like Adam will be making the SaintsWeb banner anytime soon.

This still amuses me.
Not sure why you took personal offense to it. If it helps, it wasn't meant to be an attack on you or MLS, neither was it some proclamation that Guly, because he played in a superior league, would walk through MLS defenders. I give you credit though, with 14 posts you've mastered the SaintsWeb personal snipe.

Watching the free hour of SSN and I noticed they highlighted a recent baseball trade (transfer). Does anyone actually pay attention to that in the UK? I can't imagine that it's that popular in the UK for them to even bother. Interesting.

Are we allowed to cheer the three goals or are we still mad?

On yer bike! Virgil Van Dijk sits out of training as the #Celtic squad prepare for tomorrow's match v #StJohnstone
Celtic Football Club, Celtic Gossip, SPFL and 2 others
The St Johnstone Saints mind you. Poetic.

He looked good in pre-season, but Koeman seems to have decided he is bottom of the pecking order when it comes to attackers. Very strange.
Not sure why. Ronnie needs to say "feck it, Pelle sit, Juanmi in and just everybody shoot. If you make a pass to someone whose back is to goal you don't get paid this week."
-
Give Juanmi a start, he has goals in him.

Harry the Hornet has some moves.

It's sensationalism, click bait, nothing more. Without knowing all the inner workings of journalism I'm sure the number of people clicking on that article affects his pay or future work with ESPN.

Do you know what, I think, a lot of people aren't over last summer they got all worked up about stuff and then the club had the bollix to go and have an even better season than ever before. So they were forced to bite their tongues until some **** stuff happened and now they are all moaning and groaning and dragging up last summer because they've been stewing on it for so long. Basically if they keep shouting doom and gloom for long enough they'll end getting it right.
Deep stuff, very Freudian but I likes.

LVG is a WUM, just jealous his ego was hurt with the Pedro snub.

Interested to hear if anyone plans to attend the British GP at Silverstone next week? I get the impression there aren't many with motorbikes on the forum but interested to hear if any will attend none the less. Good season thus far, in that Marquez isn't running away with it.

Are we still a seaside b&b or have we fallen into shady hostel located under a bridge? I'm trying to visual the current hotel type of our team and this is the best I can find, re: seaside b&b.

I hung the Saints flag on the front of the house yesterday (out of town last week) so I'm expecting a big result today, because of the flag.

Not the same company though is it, in fact it's completely independant of any commercial links with us.
I am sure that there must be clubs who are sponsored by family or associates of the owner. Olympique Marseille must be one, she owns Adidas, they give plenty of money to the OM and yet it's all perfectly above board. Man C and PSG are just isolated examples of constructive accounting by middle east owners.
I wasn't trying to suggest some shady illicit deal. FFP doesn't allow the owner to bank roll a team, right? They need to be sustainable, use the money generated by the club to fund expenditures? I was trying to point out that if Mrs. Liebherr did want to bank roll the team she could do it via one of her companies (I get they're not "hers") in a shirt sponsorship deal. In some ways I was agreeing with you.
-
Supporting local businesses at a reasonable price is fine, giving away shirt sponsorship that could be better moneyed for just a pittance is nonsensical. On the other hand the figures given in the article could be totally misleading. I still don't see why the main Liebherr branch don't shirt sponsor us actually. 5 million or so would be very little to them and with the port connections and all it wouldn't be lost to them.
I've often wondered this. Wouldn't that be the ultimate FFP go around? They could create some ridiculous £50M sponsorship deal, which is essentially a loan to the club. That and Man City's shell companies who loan players to Man City.

I don't like his overgelled haircut, like some s**t, outdated character from Coming to America or Red Dwarf. There I said "it".

KOEMAN: FONTE NOT FOR SALE
Ronald Koeman says Southampton will not consider selling captain Jose Fonte this summer.
Earlier we reported that Aston Villa were in talks with the defender, but Koeman has just told a press conference: "He is our captain, he is a very strong defender and he is a club man like Kelvin Davis.
"I don’t think for one second think about selling him. He is our captain. There is no way we will sell him."
I don't know, not very concrete from Ronnie. My guess is he'll be on the Peaky Blinders tour of Birmingham this weekend after extolling Sherwood's promise of one on one sessions.
(sarcasm)

It's bloody awful. Need a lion / eagle / t-rex in it.
Something to get the testosterone flowing rather than fûcking trees & flowers.
Should be Markus riding a gold velociraptor and stamping on a crescent moon imo
I like this. I question the need for a football in the crest. Isn't it implied that we're involved in football related activities, regardless of a football in the crest?
Since we have a religious theme/background, a black Jesus would be appropriate. Maybe Markus riding a raptor and black Jesus shouting the words "It's Judgement Day!"
Let's run with this.

Absolutely gutted. Would have loved to get a picture with him and reminiscent about Southampton, the WestQuay and all. Lest we forget it was his assist that Sharp put in the back of the net to seal promotion (I know Lallana gets credited but it was Guly's cross).
O well, as an aside I have two spare tickets to the Indy MotoGP this weekend and it looks like there may be a few Saints in the Midwest (at least some west of Appalachia) so let me know if anyone wants to drown our Guly-less sorrows in the "Crossroads of America."

Thats it for a 1000 years of marching on!? Can you imagine a 1000 years of "No ambition" posts from Alps?

Ronnie's huge in the aircraft spotting community. He's probably there for hours on off days with his Nikon and a large cup of black coffee.
-
Why did the presser get cut short?
It didn't. Tele peoples and paper peoples have different interview times. Paper peoples don't want their cutting edge journalism stolen by lazy television presenters.
-
I really don't know much about him, other than if there's one position on the pitch I can trust Koeman's judgement on, it's CB
Good point.
