CLOTH EARS Posted 9 May, 2011 Share Posted 9 May, 2011 (edited) Ellie Mannion Charity Match Weds 11th May, 7pm Kick Off. Daniel Mannion and Stuart Saint ran AFC Totton reserves last season in the Wessex Combination league. Unfortunately Dan has recently received some earth shattering news that his daughter Ellie 6, has been diagnosed with leukaemia. They are now trying to arrange various fundraising events for the Piam Brown childhood leukaemia ward at Southampton General Hospital . It has been confirmed that a charity football match will be held at AFC Totton's T******d Stadium. The game will be played between an AFC Totton select 11 (including first team manager Stuart Ritchie) vs. a Select 11 made up of ex south coast professionals. Prizes have been donated for this from all the south coast clubs. They have a good side lined up with Jeff Kenna, Jason Dodd, Francis Benali, Paul Masters and David Hughes hopefully all playing. There are also have a few players/ex managers from the Wessex League and Zamaretto League including Craig Davis, Pete Castle, Justin Burnett (Gosport Borough), Kevin Gibbons (Sholing) and Glenn Burnett (former Romsey town manager). Cost of admission will be £5 on the gate with the entire amount raised going to the ward. There is also a charity raffle after the game to hopefully raise more money for this worthy cause. AFC Totton are honoured to be part of this and we hope that plenty of money is raised on the night. We would like to send out our heart felt wishes to Dan and his family at this difficult time. All money taken on the gate plus other fund-raising activities on the day will go towards this. Please continue the already great support by attending this event, no one deserves it more than Jay. It will truly be a memorable day and we invite you all to come along and enjoy this special occasion. For those of you that are not aware Jay is only 22 and was paralysed from the neck down in an accident during a practice session at Legoland Windsor for a show. This young man deserves all of the support we can give and AFC Totton are honoured to be hosting this event, everyone connected with the club wish Jay the very best and our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. He is a strong and determined young man and he will with our support get through this. Hope to see you all there on the day.
