Canon software problem

Having bought a new Canon camera I need to download various software programs. All seems to be going OK during the installation until it is almost complete and then the Canon program stops with "An error has occured" message. That's it I have tried numerous times and still no success .Any help would be much appreciated.

Solved this problem at last. I created a new account on my computer with administrator access. Tried again to download the software the software, Digital Photo Professional being the most important one, and it downloaded first time . All working perfectly now. No idea why this works but it does.
