  1. Hi Tim - just back from the Ave where the likes of Kade, Wayne Bennett, Big Kenny, Ken Massey, Micky Windows, Sam MacLoughlin, Phil Green and loads of others were celebrating that every alternate Sat afternoon come rain or sun we will still have a Mecca to head to.

And I don't mean the Royal Pier.

some names i have not heard for a good few years Dunc

  2. Great piece Tim

We share so many memories and great times, it may not be PC these days but the tribal nature of football support in those days meant that friendships were made that stand the test of time.

The love of Southampton Football Club and the City was shared on the terraces by those of us who watched "little" Southampton challenge the big boys

  3. Many thanks for the reply.

Like many others no doubt, I am desparate for more news.

Feel more excited being a Saints fan than I have for ages.

A cold beer and ignore t'internet for a few hours I think.

Go-on...who is going to be manager..?.....:)

    Alan Knill from Bury

  4. Sorry Mike. I was joking but forgot to put a smiley winky thing at the end.

pleased to hear it, i think most are fed up with the old arguments although Alpine has not had his say yet but me i am looking forward to handing over the dough for 3 season tickets watching the club re build from the bottom, but most of all, hopefully, winning some home games and enjoying my football

  5. Can't see how season tickets can be sold until a deal is finalised. We have only entered a period of exclusivity. Maybe that is a good sign, but too many people are jumping the gun.

agreed now is the time to follow the principles that Ted installed, keep quiet do a good job and be patient

  6. Are you suggesting that Lowe, Wilde and Crouch are not bone fide businessmen??

as you brought it up , i do not believe the first two ever were but frankly today is not the time to drag there names into a happy thread

  7. I hope they have got some flippin money ! Remember all the excitement when Wilde & co took over ?

If we have to survive on gate money , so be it.

i do not want false promises of untold wealth just a football club at peace at the top table

  8. I am a member now.

Can't shed any light on anything, but I can't understand why we can't find out who's behind it. If MLT is a figurehead, I suppose like Frannie Lee (was it him) at Man C a few years back, then he isn't exactly putting his face about (as far as I can see, not being in Soton). Has he been gladhanding and kissing babies around the area?

    Frannie Lee actually had money

  9. Couldn't, I work with them, all day they have been giving it all the Champions League here we come b*llocks.

my wife comes from skate land but she is converted to a saint now especially as the 2 sons( 21 and 14) are true saints problem is he family, never been to fratton in their lifes but full of sh*t these days, and like all skates they are a big family who all live within 5 miles of each other even after they get married.

    travel is going to chichester

can hear the wife coming downstair better submit this before she reads it

  10. Fry is a partner and will get a share of whatever profit Begbie Traynor makes together with a monthly salary, IMHO.

Dave Jones is not an employee of SFC, but a Director of SLH. His contract would have been terminated and he is just one of the creditors of SLH for anything they owe him, under his contract beyond his minimum government funded redundancy package (f*** all, in other words). IMHO he will be working at an daily rate paid for by the administrator. Accountants and lawyers look after their own....

all very strange , who works for who?

does all this mean that the only reason SFC could not sale season tickets was because they may not have a ground to play on?

SFC appears to be the income generator and had all the costs bar the stadium.

    what a mess

  11. I was under the impression that as soon as he couldnt pay an invoice he was legally bound to put us in to liquidation? Surely if he cant pay the staff we are unable to pay for electricity or any other base cost.

The other bills may not be due or are in the name of SLH, he is asking for the staff's patience a thing that often happens in these cases

  12. I suspect the board probably felt these would be honored as within the OD terms - but as with all overdrafts the terms mean diddly squat due to that sentance about recall/reduction at any time the baks feel like doing so...

but were they within the overdraft limit?

one day the truth will come out i hope

  13. Which is exactly the point - his hatred ill feeling for them ahead of using his abilty to save the club - i am not saying he should have done or he was obliged to' date=' but the difference it would have mad had he been so generous earlier is pretty clear - nose to spite face stuff which you simply cant make up....[/quote']

    by ALL parties

  14. But would it not have been wiser for Leon to dip in before' date=' to avoid admin and at least maintain some sort of sharevalue and allow the club to then sell STs to keep us going? Seems to me, like some fans he put his own personal feelings against Lowe and Wilde ahead of the love the club at that time?[/quote']

i am sure he would have done if Rupert and Michael had walked

  15. As I understand it it is a legal requirement of the PLC board to call in the administrators the moment the company can not honor its payment s to creditors (in this case triggered by Barclays bouncing cheques) as soon as this happened the board had no choice...

    Technically correct

but who sent out the cheques knowing they would take us over an agreed limit ?

if the cheques had not been sent would we have been in admin because we had 2 games with decent gates after that happened
