  1. It's a good letter Joe - encapsulates the main problem with the Football League's punishment system. i.e. they don't punish 'outcomes' per se.

Good letter but based on the replies I have received from the FL then do not expect any answer, more likely writer will be banned from all football than FL get off fence

  2. Considering the amazing achievement of successive promotions, all the rumours about NA, the stadium, transfers, season ticket prices and so on I am surprised there has been no staement/interview or similar to inform us of his thoughts on these issues and the future.

I will add that I think the bloke is a legend and totally respect his part in our achievements, but if he has a fault it's hearing nothing from him for months and months. Thoughts?

less we hear from him the better, we have had enough of Chairman mouthing off

  3. better pitches....um, not really

over the last few years the quality of pitches at Temeraire has improved dramatically whereas Collingwoods, whilst there may be more space, have not, most of the football at Collingwood these days is played on the floodlit area in the main base

  4. collingwood and Temeraire.

collingwood is a huge base...with vast facilities, pitches etc etc

they can use the facilities and not get in the way of the thousands of sailors there working/training etc

temeraire is not a big base at all

but has the better pitches, is in portsmouth and next to Gunwharf

  5. You could have put MLT, Stevie Williams, a couple of Wallaces even Shearer at a push with these additions you could get a reasonable team that would hold it's own in the 1st division or what ever itis called these days.

problem with all this listing a team spanning 30 plus years, if you include Steve Williams, proves that Academy alone will not work

  6. On twitter some skate called Lord Palmerstone is saying they've been kicked out of Eastleigh with their training gear seized due to lack of bill payment. Having to move to Collingwood (wherever that is).

    This should be interesting....

Collingwood is a Navy base just outside Fareham, lots of pitches, I know they are looking for alternatives so suspect this is true

  7. Try The Chilworth Arms (The Clump Inn), or The Plough in Portsmouth Rd, both used to keep their pitches up over the summer. It's many years since I played on either, but it may be worth a phone call, or try astro-pitches (The Sports Centre, Trojans, Cantell School, The School in Chandlers Ford etc).

Plough has not had a pitch for years, most Councils shut down on 1 May for football pitches, the two I control in Warsash are not available due to a six a side tournament and annual maintence on the other.

i believe Totton's ground can be hired at £120 per game

  8. Our average attendance was 18000 in 1984, the capacity was 25,000 back then. How were we limited by the Dell?

are you sure capacity was 25000, chocolate boxes were knocked down 2 years before?

  9. We managed to keep away from the problems in the ground (really don`t know how!!) but it was the coach trip back to the airport (about 15Km I think) that was the problem. The coaches were under continual attack from yobs on little motorbikes who were throwing bricks, drain gratings and just about anything else that they could lay their hands on at the coaches. I was on the back seat of the last coach and by the time we got to the airport, we had about 2 windows intact. As you say, the airport lounge resembled a war-zone.

kids today do not know what us old fools went through, was a very scarey journey. Worst thing was there was little we could do to protect ourselves in the coaches

  10. I remember how Corpse used to come on here everytime someone hinted that they might not be able to afford their transfers, clearly stating how all pompeys finances were revewed by the football league.... so are the FL to blame for the charity fiasco?

Maybe its another questions for the football league

    Dear Football league

You will no doubt by now be aware that Portsmouth Football Club 2010 Ltd (yes those plucky souls in administration for a second time in 2 years) have recently revealed that just as in the first instance of administration, the 2012 FL Chapionship Community club of the Year award winners have collected monies from the public for charities and through 'clerical errors' have had these absorbed in to their large pit of debt, in effect using the charity monies to contribute to paying their players on premiership wages.

Now in the grand scheme of things this would not normally be an issue for the FL, however some of Portsmouth's plucky fans, who have throughout this sorry episode remained steadfast in that the club has done nothing wrong, have PUBLICALLY stated that all financial transactions during 2010-2012 were subject to the scrutiny of the FL league, thus implicating the good name of the FL in the cheating of the charities. I am sure the FL will wish to clarify its involvement in the financial oversight of Portsmouth Football Club 2010 Ltd to avoid any confusion in this matter, which is why I am bringing this to your attention now, especially as the FL', former head of compliance was the CEO at the club during which this financial oversight occured.

Otherwise from the outside, the perception might exist that the FL are happy with the situation. Indeed, given the current rules governing footballing creditors, the FL may find itself in the slightly embarrassing situation where Portsmouth Football Club 2010 Ltd conveniently deflect the bad Public Relations for non payment of the charities (did I mention for a second time in two years), to the FL, stating that they could not pay the charities monies owed as the FL insist the that players on £25,000 per week who have deferred 25% of their wages, be paid first... afterall they must need it as having to live on £18,000 per week must have been a struggle. Would the FL care to comment?

    Yours sincerely

    FC

    Have sent to Football League

  11. Al Mirage "in charge" the first time, and a couple of hand-picked Russian idiots the second time. Not forgetting the wonderful follow-up work done by the Android.

    Our Chinny's a slippery eel, isn't he? :D

If he ever gets bored with the loan shark business, I think he has the skills to become a world class puppeteer.

Agent Chinny, unlike Agent Redknapp was tasked with a long term assignment to kill the few, slowly by keep giving them hope before finally pulling the plug
