  1. My lease is due to finish soon on my Ford Fiesta ST3. Its been a great car and fun to drive. Thinking about going up to a Focus ST. I would love an RS but the waiting times are long and the lease costs out of my range. Is the Focus ST any good

  2. At a cost of £55 million per day.

    This list is a couple of years old but it's still very relevant:

    What did the EEC/EU ever do for us? Not much, apart from:

    providing 57% of our trade;

    structural funding to areas hit by industrial decline;

    clean beaches and rivers;

    cleaner air; lead free petrol;

    restrictions on landfill dumping;

    a recycling culture;

    cheaper mobile charges;

    cheaper air travel;

    improved consumer protection and food labelling;

    a ban on growth hormones and other harmful food additives;

    better product safety;

    single market competition bringing quality improvements and better industrial performance;

    break up of monopolies;

    Europe-wide patent and copyright protection;

    no paperwork or customs for exports throughout the single market;

    price transparency and removal of commission on currency exchanges across the eurozone;

    freedom to travel, live and work across Europe;

    funded opportunities for young people to undertake study or work placements abroad;

    access to European health services;

    labour protection and enhanced social welfare;

    smoke-free workplaces;

    equal pay legislation;

    holiday entitlement;

    the right not to work more than a 48-hour week without overtime;

    strongest wildlife protection in the world;

    improved animal welfare in food production;

    EU-funded research and industrial collaboration;

    EU representation in international forums;

    bloc EEA negotiation at the WTO;

    EU diplomatic efforts to uphold the nuclear non-proliferation treaty;

    European arrest warrant;

    cross border policing to combat human trafficking, arms and drug smuggling;

    counter terrorism intelligence;

    European civil and military co-operation in post-conflict zones in Europe and Africa;

    support for democracy and human rights across Europe and beyond;

    investment across Europe contributing to better living standards and educational, social and cultural capital.

    All of this is nothing compared with its greatest achievements: the EU has for 60 years been the foundation of peace between European neighbours after centuries of bloodshed. It furthermore assisted the extraordinary political, social and economic transformation of 13 former dictatorships, now EU members, since 1980. Now the union faces major challenges brought on by neoliberal economic globalisation, and worsened by its own systemic weaknesses. It is taking measures to overcome these. We in the UK should reflect on whether our net contribution of £7bn out of total government expenditure of £695bn is good value.

  3. I have a strange problem with an android MX3 TV box. I have a nice Sony TV in a spare room and use a cheap TV down stairs which has an MX3 box hooked up to it via HDMI for sportmania etc.. This works well and have had no problems. I decided to swap the TV's around. Now every 5mins on the dot the Sony TV turns its self off and on again. Only happens with the android box. Any ideas what this could be. Not to bothered as I have swapped the TV's over again but would love to know what is causing this.

  4. If you are already living here and paid tax and NI all your life and say need expensive cancer care but it is being refused on the grounds of expense you are not going to be happy that the funds are going to be put aside for the migrants. In the end of the day its dog eat dog whether we like it or not.

    Its about time the West said to the Arab states, its your mess and you deal with it. I know many we say we created this mess but we cant keep continuing to clear up the middle east. East and West will never get on to much difference with ideologies

  5. Got mine from ebay

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KODI-XBMC-Quad-Core-Android-4-4-TV-Box-MXQ-Kitkat-New-Fully-Loaded-Free-Sports-/171854834604?hash=item280358abac

    Everything was already set up but had to add on sportmania, so far I would recommend it. If it continues to work as well as it has so far I may well get rid of sky and bt sports, if need be I will just buy another box for the other room.

    How much did you pay, and where from?

    Would you recommend it?

    Have you added on Tom's Skin to SportsMania? Looks good and gives access to all the next add-ons

  6. i purchased a MXQ box, hard wired in although wireless was working ok, added the sportmania add on and paid for 6 months all working well tonight. Could not of done the install without the video but got there in the end. These android boxes are amazing

  7. Been told by people itk its the current crop of sixteen year olds that's exiting the coaching staff, it will be a while before they are ready but the club expect many of them to make it to Saints 1st team and be very successful

  8. Thats still a massive cock up. Before any project goes ahead we have to do due diligence and feasibility costings. At each stage the costs are firmed up including a pre tender estimate. Its expected that this cost should be in the middle cost of the tender returns, inflation, labour and material costs are inc for jobs that are likely to run over a number of years. The company i work for runs a massive data base for costs for all sorts of projects so its not difficult to project. Funding is based on the predicted build cost so to be £2m out is very poor to say the least. Also it would be normal to have a risk register and a contingency of say 10%, this should have a significant sum of cash attached to for overruns etc so whats happened to that

  9. The info given by the council and reported in the Echo that the new Arts centre is about £2m over budget due to labour increases is a complete lie. As a QS i deal with contracts everyday. Once a build cost is agreed and contracts signed off the cost is fixed. You cant go back and say half way through the job the cost of labour has gone up so i want more money, that's ********. Obviously what's happened is that the council did not have a clue what they wanted or have very poorly tendered the project and have left so many holes in the contract that the contractor has them over a barrel and the contract administrator has has issued so many instructions or change orders then the cost has risen. Once again a government/locally funded project is over budget. Dont worry its not their money so they don't care and no one will loose their jobs. If i make a massive mistake like this i would be down the rd
