  1. I think only the first few seats in 41 will be taken up, probably due to segregation.

This. The segregation normally cuts into Block 41, rather than just taking it out of the away allocation.

I'm in Block 42 so shall be moving over to Block 2 for this one. Always like a little trip over there at least once a season.

  2. Another way of showing what im trying to say is look at this list here

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Average_attendances_of_European_football_clubs

Of the top 11 clubs in Europe in terms of average attendances 7 are German. Dortmund have the highest so is there no surprise that they now seem to be emerging as one of the biggest forces in football? Won the league two years in a row. Look dangerous in the CL. And they have a population of just 500k.... Shalke are a very good model for us to copy as we have very similar cities in terms of populations.

Change is on the way for German football. At the moment, football is still very much for the fans over there. You have terracing, cheap tickets and can have a beer whilst watching the game. Football clubs are run properly, not by billionaire owners having a bit of fun.

Though due to quite a bit of crowd trouble last year and some pretty high profile trouble on the final day of the season, the German government is looking to clamp down. Removing terracing is one thing that has been put forward. If they remove the terracing, the prices will go up. Once the prices rise, the clientèle will also start to change. What with the standard of German football improving and with it easily being the most exciting league other than the Premiership, I can see the Bundesliga following in the Premiership's footsteps in years to come.

As for comparing our support to Dortmund's, whilst a small city they have massive support from all over Germany (due to past and recent success) and are no different to the likes of Man Utd, Liverpool on a home match day. Schalke's support is more impressive but Gelsenkirchen is an absolute khazi, the Middlesbrough of Germany if you will. There is literally nothing there to do other than go and watch Schalke - if the prices were ever to rise, their crowds would fall massively. It's a pretty poor, working class city.

  3. The city one is alright, hardly the end of the world between 3pm and 5.30 kickoffs.

Is the stoke at home game TV now? Guessing its predicted to be a "who will stay up" sort of game...

No. All games have been moved to a 4pm KO. Though if we need to stay up, we may well be on the box. Still, the TV time won't change again though as everyone has to start and finish at the same time on the last day.

  4. Wow, you have just runied the possibilty of this getting to 10 pages of nonsense with that little bit of info :)

If only it was that simple.

As I haven't disclosed their full names, addresses, DOB, place of birth, current occupation, where they go for dinner with Ramirez, what their bra size is and what their favourite film of all time is, it will be dismissed by most.

  5. Oh joy, another thread where we get to make "funnies" about unoriginal football chants without actually contributing anything constructive.

I'm sorry, I guess some of us don't take this kind of stuff as seriously as yourself. Though I can't help but notice yours is probably the least constructive post on the thread. Now either make up a song or leave us alone.

  6. My old man works with a couple of Uruguayan birds in Southampton. They have befriended Ramirez's bird and go out to dinner etc with them. He's said to them he loves it here and would like to stay even if we were relegated. That's just a conversation between friends, so doubt he would just be saying it for the sake of it.

Do Fiorentina even have enough money to make a £20m bid and increase the wages we're paying him?

  7. Whilst not quite on the same theme as hiring a barge; Dusseldorf is one of the best drinking cities I've ever visited. Then you have Cologne close by which is also superb for drinking, trains between the two are quick and frequent. There are just endless streets of bars though not as seedy as Hamburg, there are still plenty of brasses if that should tickle your fancy and not too pricey.

  8. There should be flexibility on that rule. I can understand them doing it for games with a high demand but for less popular games, you should be able to get as many as you want in one transaction.

We should be doing everything possible to try and shift tickets. Instead we ban away match ticket sales over the phone and introduce restrictive ticket sale policies.

  9. There's only one Luke Shaw, one Luke Shaw...

Ole, ole, ole, ole, ole Luke Shaw, Luke Shaw

    Lukey, Lukey Shaw,

He's short and he's not very hard,

    He's wanted by Arsenal,

    Lukey Shaw, Shaw

He stands just over 3ft 2",

    Lukey, Lukey,

He'll leave us when we drop out the Premier League,

    Lukey Lukey,

He get's the ball, he plays it safe, he wears the shirt of Oliver Bernard

Lukey, Lukey he's better than Danny Fox.

  10. Are we perhaps trying to offload as we are near the bottom?

NC may not want to risk the big earners being here if we go down? Sell for 10m in Jan or 5m in June/july

Well Lambert is leaving as he didn't join in with a goal celebration during the QPR game and imagine Lallana will be off to fulfil his England ambitions, so selling Ramirez would leave us short.
