Just watched the three minute highlights on YouTube, we absolutely gifted them their goals again.
Imagine if they just leathered it out or leathered it long once in a while.
If only. How much longer does RM have to watch us gift goals by playing the way we do until the stubborn so and so makes a change of direction? If he persists then there is only one direction for him and that's out of the door.

I remember going there years ago, when we were terrible with pundits half jokingly saying we should forfeit for a 3-0 to save gd. As it happened astonishingly Rory Delap got a brace and we got a point (I recall we gave away a 90+ equaliser naturally). So stranger things have happened
I remember putting a spanner in their title dreams at the end of the 22/23 season with a 3-3 draw. Will lightening strike twice at the Emirates???
-
As a supporter for just over 50 years I have learnt to hope for the best but expect the worst. Arsenal at the Emirates has massacre written all over it but I shall hope for one of those out of the blue results against the big teams that we have pulled out of the bag before.

There was a time when a match against Bournemouth, home or away, was a reliable 3 points for us. Watching last night's match and seeing how far above us they now are was hard to take. Didn't RM see what the rest of us could see that the team he sent out in the first half were woeful? Why wait until half-time when we are 3-0 down and the damage is done before making changes? Yes, we were a bit better in the second half but still not good enough to overturn another loss. I feel totally fed up this morning.

Fuck me. Is this what football has become? The worst result of the season is beating your bitter city rivals, in a game when you're the underdog, in the FA Cup Final?
I know football is about progress and Utd don't want to be where they are, but it's also about moments. That win will stay in the mind longer of those fans than having an improved season and finishing 3rd or 4th in the league.Maybe you don't know as many Man U fans as I do.

United are atrocious. Ten Hag for the chop.
The worst result for Man U last season was winning the FA Cup. After a poor season, even by their diminishing standards, they were the underdogs against City. Had United lost then I believe Ten Hag would have been sacked. With the FA Cup Ten Hag won a stay of execution but surely they must be sharpening up the gallows at Old Trafford now.

I'm not surprised you have no idea who he is. He hasn't done much since he arrived.

Things have changed for them - better team and management. Plus we’re an easy push-over to figure out and play against. 2-0.
Sad but very true. I never expected to be wondering where the points are coming from In September!

I thought we needed to turn up today, and we didn't to be frank.
I thought Ipswich deserved at least a point, this is an Ipswich team who are on par with us and one of our rivals, but for big portions of that game they were much better than us.
If we cannot compete to be better than Ipswich then I struggle to see how we can compete against anyone in this league.
We simply don't create enough openings, we are incredibly easy to defend against and even easier to attack.
Bright spots obviously Dibling and Fernandes, but it really wasn't great. BBD continues his impression of a carthorse it has to be said, he looks naff as hell. You don't go 19 games without a win in the PL if you're a good player, period.
Onto the next one I guess. I just have a feeling that this season is going to be the worst in our history by some distance, and we've already finished bottom in this league twice before.
Spot on as usual. I felt so upbeat when Dibling scored in the opening minutes and hoped we would build on that. BBD missing such a good chance to put some space between us and Ipswich went to waste. I didn't expect to be thinking about 6 pointers this early in the season but here we go again.
-
How many chances did our strikers have to kill this game? As for BBD he is beginning to get on my nerves. Just counting down the minutes to celebrate our first win then a jammy equaliser. Cheesed off.

what part of coaching does he like ,im sure we would all like to know that.
I think when he looks in the mirror he sees Guardiola staring back at him. Still short of a reliable, solid striker which is going to cause problems all season. Everton may be below us but they are scoring goals He comes across as a stubborn so and so as his insistence on playing out from the back shows. We aren't good enough for that and rival teams know it. I hope SR won't leave it until we have one foot in the abyss to the Championship.

I made a mistake here. The Everton game is a cup match. Next three in the league are Ipswich, Bournemouth and Arsenal. Followed by Leicester then Man City...
Perhaps 1 point then. 😂

Everton, Ipswich and Bournemouth next on the league. We've got to be looking at minimum 6 points from that lot.
First we must learn to score tho.
You would hope so but I have just watched Bournemouth play Chelsea and they were unlucky not to come away with a point. Everton will be smarting from losing a 2 nil lead to come away with a 3-2 lose in their last 2 matches so may have a point to prove. On present form I think 4 points may be nearer the mark.

Softening the approach on Leicester to make up for an almighty brush under the carpet for City coming up soon. Sounds about right!!
Like you said, Everton and Forest have genuine reason to be absolutley pissed. None of this is good for us though, that was potentially one of our 'saving graces'.
You are bang on the money mentioning a softly softly approach in the run-up to City's case. It sticks out like a sore thumb and they hope the idiot fans won't join up the dots. FFP outcomes are clearly not a level playing field for certain clubs.

What did Murphy say? I think I could probably hazard a guess.
Danny Murphy said if Martin continues to play this way we will be another Burnley.

Just watched MOTD.
WTF is Russ talking about?
Danny Murphy's comments short and brutal, and entirely accurate.
Russ needs a rethink over the international break. Looking tough already.
I like Danny Murphy. One of the best as pundits go and as you say he was spot on. Martin is a stubborn sod and I doubt he will change the way he wants us to play. He will ignore the 'narrative' of the supporters. I hope the club have a decent Plan B waiting in the wings.

Ivan Toney going to Saudi is a sad one. He looked great for England in the summer, surely he could do a job for a big English team?
I agree with you but money talks, doesn't it? Perhaps he feels if the big Prem clubs aren't interested he may as well boost his bank balance. Personally, I hope Saudi football goes the same way as Chinese football did.

Have I missed something ? Is Lineker giving up MOTD?
It was mentioned a while ago and towards the end of last season Lineker made some very pointed comments about his successor when Jenas was on MOTD. He has been the front runner for a while. I'm not sure when Gary Lineker eventually goes but there have been odds on his replacement in the news since Jenas's sacking.

I do wish everything wasn't a tick box exercise. Whoever will be the next presenter of Match of the Day let them get that position by being the best person for that job. Ignore their gender, colour, sexual preferences, religion etc. just to satisfy the woke brigade.

The runners and riders to take over from Gary Lineker are listed in the Mirror as Mark Chapman, Gabby Logan and Alex Scott with Rio Ferdinand and Micah Richards also possible. If that's the choices then it would have to be Mark Chapman for me.

Obviously talksport don't care as he co hosted tonight's drive home. With jermaine pennant
According to BBC News at 10 last night, TalkSport were unaware of his sacking until their show had started. They have announced that he will no longer be on TalkSport for the present time.

Jermaine Jenas sacked from both Match of the Day and The One Show for inappropriate behaviour. I won't miss him too much. Not my favourite pundit.

Arsenal 3-1 Saints - Match Thread

It's ok of you're good at it but few teams are. I notice Jordan Pickford only plays out from the back if his defence are in acres of space otherwise he takes no chances and kicks the long ball. In the Euros he was the top of the list by quite a margin for goalies hammering it down the pitch.
