  1. As the chairman of one of the world's most dynamic investment banking companies, he received the result by text. He allowed himself a few seconds of pause, confident in that his decision to bring the Golden Duo to St Mary's has now been vindicated, and then continued to work.

Are investment banks open and trading at 21:30 on a Tuesday?

  2. Tenous link time, just for a change,he is into cinema and bought into dreamworks sometime ago alledgedly a suitor for SFC had links to Deamworks.

He has also looked at Leeds united, this was mentioned only a few days ago, that the person who looked at leeds was also casting an eye in our direction.

    Pure speculation of course.IMO.

Would that be the alledged previous suitor who sold his shares in Dreamworks?

  3. You need to upgrade your gas powered ZX81 computer:D

I've been promised a new one for Christmas :)

Anyway, it seems to have gotten quicker since I made the thread - probably less people pressing the refresh button since the game ended.

  4. So the new all singing all dancing forum that will never crash and costs a fiver, would appear to be slowing to a snails pace this evening.

And this on a Tuesday evening playing a relatively unimportant game, and only 400 odd users online.

  5. Lord Lowe is at the helm of one of the world's most dynamic investment banking companies, i.e. he has many interests and is a busy man. His presence in the stadium holds no sway whatsoever on the result.

Crouch's presence, however, could well be detriment. His very attendance and the ill feeling the permeates from every ounce of his being, may well seep into the players on the pitch.

From 8.00pm on a Tuesday evening?

  6. What's your budget Pancake? Fairly key question given the range out there. Also, what's your main intended use?

Whilst it might not be ideal in some scenarios, don't rule out getting something like a 70-200 and a 1.4x teleconverter. Gets you arguably the best zoom going for up to 200mm, and a teleconverter that can be used on a host of other lenses. Just an option.

The 100-400 is a very good all-rounder but the push pull zoom isn't to everyone's tastes.

Fred Miranda that Al mentioned above is certainly the best resourse IMO.

I read somewhere that the teleconverters only work with 'L' series lenses.

Is that true or did I just misread?

  7. I'm sorry?

Charges dropped usually suggest there's not enough evidence to support a prosecution. That probably suggests he's innocent, rather than guilty of anything.

I think you can rule out the 'probably' bit, unless they've changed the 'innocent until proven guilty' bit of British Law....

  8. So do you believe that four men who have previously been linked or involved with saints have all joined a company as directors for something totally unrelated to Southampton? Do you?

Maybe - and I know I'm coming way out of leftfield here!!! - when they were all linked to taking over SFC 6 months ago, and after Lowe slammed the door on them with his return and subsequent statement to the LSE, they decided that they all got on well with each other and so formed a company to carry out some sort of business venture, that could [certainly not beyond the realms of possibility] not be connected with SFC.

  9. Currently nothing. Various media outlets have reported Cousins and Fulthorpe are going to help facilitate a takeover of Southampton. Merrington has also been said to be involved (I am not 100 percent on whether this has been reported anywhere but I think it may have been on Solent.) Now this company springs up with all these people named as directors. I suppose in your world that's just a complete coincidence and totally unrelated to football and SFC.

Did you click that Daily Mirror link from March?

  10. Form as a company so to manouvre themselves into a position to takeover SFC,quite possibly.

    Or rename themselves....

Dunno, prior to June they were called PETRO MANDATE (BRIDGEND) LIMITED

Asturius Europe were PETRO MANDATE (UK SERVICES) LIMITED

Asturius Hospitality were PETRO MANDATE (HOSPITALITY) LIMITED

Asturius Sport were PETRO MANDATE (SPORT & LEISURE) LIMITED

Again not a lot on Petro Mandate, and I'd be more excited if I was a Bridgend fan to be honest.

I'm starting to see why the Paul Allen and other takeover rumours ran and ran with all this blind belief and straw clutching.

  11. Dave Merrington has recently been appointed a director of Asturius Sports which happens to have an ex saints doctor amongst others. Something has happened.

And Asturius sports do what exactly?

Interesting that the top results for 'Asturius Sports' in Google come back to 'Saints Web' a website that has only been going for a week or so.

Must be an interesting job Dave has got there.

  12. Care to comment on his entire post rather than pick up on one point which is insignificant to the point of the post?

The rest of his post stated that a shell company has appointed a new director! Again hardly groundbreaking news is it?

Perhaps if it said something to link Merrington directly to Saints it might be worth commenting on, just like this article.....

Oh, but that was back in March wasn't it, and what has happened since?
