  1. I felt they looked off the pace last week too. I'm still thinking about Ralph's comment before the Wolves game regarding levels and that the team would need to work hard to get back to pre-international-break levels.

No idea why they have fallen as much as they have.

  2. Did anyone catch Ralph's pre-match interview on Sky? He mentioned the players would have to work hard to get back to where they were pre-international break. He went on to say he hoped that would be sooner rather than later.

Now being a keen marathon runner who understands training and periodisation including peaking for performance, I wonder if the sports science has the team peaking and troughing based on the schedule.

I assume so, that would explain the levels only being a little lower yesterday? Just something I noted and for me was evident in the play from the off.

I'm sure all teams do this but a high intensity outfit like ours it must be more pertinent. Look at Bielsa's teams who often fall away 3/4 into a season.

Anyway, decent point up at the Wolves.

Good read. Enjoyed the general tone of that, Spurs scoreline notwithstanding of course.

I recall reading the redcafe ManU forum after our 2-2 last season and a post asking..."when did Southampton turn into such a bastard side to play against". I like that, I like that a lot.

Yep, did this too and now appears to have sorted the getting-in issues....

Wow. Turned everything off and the site is blazing fast. I dont need all that fancy stuff anyway.

  5. The site has been working effectively for most of the day today. Hoping this is a sign of things sorting themselves out. Or more likely, some tireless work behind the scenes is beginning to pay dividends.

As I said previously I don't want to go anywhere else and I'm not giving up here.

  6. Working a treat here now..... hopefully a good sign.

I have looked at some other sites as have others I see.

sotonians seems to be ok but a lot of content to ignore (same as here I guess)

r/saintsfc is ok but not a massive fan of reddit

uglyinside full of ads (Rochdale F.C. news in my case for some reason)

Twitter #saintsfc hashtag - forget it. Twitter died the moment the w*nkers joined from Instagram and FB.

That just leaves this place with a decent mixture of people wanting to debate and discuss Saints as well as a few WUM's and the history of all the previous versions of the forum. From take-over saga's (our own as well as the blue few's), dodgy statues and all the ITK.

I hope the site can previal and as alluded to by Sydney_Saint, the work behind the scenes is much appreciated.

I have to agree with another poster who mentioned the Brighton site; perhaps simplifying the forum could help with all the database stuff? I only ever visit The Saints, I never go anywhere else on the site. Just my 2p.

  7. Aww man... don't let this be the end.

I started out on Saintslist via Yahoo then SaintsForever and then signed up to Saintsweb when that change happened.

I might actually have to do some work if this place dies out and that isn't good folks. Not good at all.

    #PrayForSaintsWeb

Just had a quick look the Ugly board and its a bit all over the place. The reddit suggestion could work I guess although that's not dedicated just for us. I don't like the multi-team board format. Its great having ONE forum that is ours. Sad times.

    Nothing wrong here.

The truth is not a conspiracy theory that bill gates wants to vaccinate the world and has deliberatley killed 500,000

Got any proof to say Bill hasn't instigated this whole thing??

    Opinions are just like arseholes....

You don't just stop being a deity because of personal failings. No God is perfect.

  9. I never knew Mclusky name checked Marian Pahars in one of their tunes... Friends Stoning Friends... its a belter of a lyric too in the refrain toward midway through the track:

(I'll see you on the moon with Marian Pahars)
(Return to earth for soya milk and underwired bras)

if you're minded to listen to a bit of McLusky you might enjoy it.

  10. Never in doubt Franny!

We completed our own Treadmill marathon this afternoon in 4hrs 39mins which I was delighted with as my wife started jogging on the treadmill 2 weeks ago when we got it and my son is also relatively new to it.

Considering I only decided to do it on Friday we raised over £400 for NHS Charities together from family and friends.

Best thing, i think the family may have caught the (running) bug :)

  11. That's a piece of **** for him! If he doesn't do it in under 3 hours I will be disappointed :) especially with all that space to run in.

Tongue very firmly in cheek of course. What a hero.
