if some version of Roll with it isn't his song football culture is dead. We all know it'll be "one Danny Rohl" clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap though
It'll be whatever Liverpool or Man City sing, our support doesn't do original anymore they just nick other clubs songs off of social media and change one word (and in some cases even keep the northern accent for some bizarre reason)

I think the way Lallana organises and advises team mates when playing shows a keen understanding of the game plus he's played under some very good managers so he's not someone I'd say is not the managerial type or lacks knowledge. I'm not convinced he'd have wanted the caretaker role even if offered it because it's something of a poison chalice.
I have it on good authority the club do not think the rat faced little cunt is in anyway capable of being our manager, in fact the lack of options for interim managers was one of the reasons they held off on sacking Martin for so long (well that and money).
Personally i think - based on the press rather than people i know - that it'll be Rohl unless the compensation is too much.

Do they ever learn? We have got the weirdest fan base who lap up all this sort of bollocks.
I think a lot of the nipper have completely overblown expectations of things, they've not really seen much in the way of success and are desperate to have idols.
It's the same why you see people call a run of the mill skate midfielder a "legend" because he basically got an attendance award.
Plus of course like our song sheet they love to copy other clubs and all this trust the process bollocks started with Wenger at Arsenal, ever since then a section of the middle class/student fanbase seem to think there's a "right way" to play football. Which is clearly bullshit as the only right way is winning

The same as with Ralph SR left it far, far to late to pull the trigger, i think most people with half a brain knew that Martin would be a complete failure in the premier league adn that his style would ship goals. We should’ve sacked him the day after the play off final, as it was obvious what would happen.
Sadly the person who will choose the next manager is the utter fuck nugget that is Rasmus, which means we’ll probably end up with the American rhythmic gymnastics coach as manager because we think outside the box. To be honest I trust this current board to select the right manager about as much as i trust Joseph Fritzl to babysit children.
Also maybe, just maybe as a fanbase we can learn one thing from this, which is to stop building weird fucking cults around managers and parroting things like "trust the process" which are just marketing slogans

I was talking to the mechanic who was fixing my car yesterday. A big Saints fan we often talk football. This season he splashed out on a ST having never been able to afford one before. He told me he's not going on Sunday. I asked if he had other commitments he said no. He just is fed up to the back teeth of "suicide football".
He said the tippy tappy football is bad enough but thats not enough to keep him away, however the crass stupidity of just watching us give the ball away in our own penalty area week in week out is hard to accept and is depressing. If only Martin would relent a bit on this it wouldn't be so unbearable. This is the biggest reason everyone one is so bloody fed up at present. We are managed by a robot it seems.
The slow death by a thousands passes is exactly what i hate personally, I forgave Martin for it last season because we won, but even when we were winning i found the style of playing boring and a chore.
We've seen tons of passing football from Saints all my life, from Nicholl's blistering attacks, WGS high work rate and even Puel, but this style just sucks the life out of the game, and the idea of sitting through another season or more of it makes me seriously consider if i'd bother renewing my season ticket (which i've had since the days the milton stopped being a terrace)

We will pointlessly play the ball around the back and eventually give it to Son who'll score, Spurs will look toothless and there for the taking, but Martin won't allow our players to attack so that won't matter.
I'm going 3-1 Spurs in what will most likely be the most boring game of football all weekend, played at a stupid kick off time so that overseas "fans" can get their fix of paint drying in before the working week starts.
After the game Martin will say how brave we were and utterly ignore that his complete and utter fucking incompetence is going to lead to us having the lowest points total of any premier league team ever.
Big Ange will praise Martin in a patronising way and we will limp on to our next game, with the Saints fans wondering if overdosing on sleeping pills is more enjoyable that watching the floating turd that is Russell Martin's "style".

Great news if he's being sold, it means SR can invest it into four or five midfielders and defenders who will up our possession stats, whilst also have the benefit of getting rid of one those pesky striker types who give the ball away by doing things like shooting or crossing.
TRUST. THE. PROCESS!

Wait are you trying to make this thread about you 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
If we all said you are right and we are wrong will that make us play better football 😔
It's not "all about me" it's pointing out that some of us warned about SR very early on and that blind faith to the owners leads you down the same route the skates went with their various owners.
We as a fanbase should be far more critical of those in charge, but many want to just drink the Kool Aid and believe all is fine.
You still see it with the Cortese love, we've seen it with SR, we saw it with Les Reed too. We get taken for suckers way, way too often when we should be demanding they do better.
Ironically of all the people who people do go after, the one that gets the most shit is Kat, who actually cares more and has done more for the club, than any of the others combined.
Oh and I'm also in a minority in that i don't think Gao was a particularly bad owner, he kept us on an even keel and left the operation of the football side to football people, he'd have invested more too but that was out of his hands.

Sadly, spot on.
I suspect that Semmens and co were sold the dream by Ankerson, only it was fucking deluded. You know how it goes "we will have a team of youth players, recruiting the best from around the world at a young age, we will use data to analyse and improve them, we will use the Brailsford approach for 1% gains every day, the players we develop will be sold for £50-£100m allowing the club to be fully sustainable and returning a profit, the only club in the world to do so"
Something along those lines.
Utterly utterly deluded and as Kat Liebherr still has a 20% stake, I'd love to hear from her. Even as a minority stakeholder she still has a voice as her 20% becomes more and more worthless every day letting these penises run things the way they are.
Get rid of Martin. Get a Chairman in, get a CEO with some balls and footballing nous. Make some decisions, fast, immediately. This team is not getting out the Championship next year otherwise ... welcome to the life of a Stoke City or Sunderland fan.
Funny thing is when I leaked the takeover (including the exit amount the club was being sold for) I warned people it wasn't necessarily a good thing and got a load of abuse for saying it.
There were actually a fair few inside the club who weren't convinced by them before the takeover and it was by no means seen as a good thing for many.
But obviously on here I got pelters for it because "how could i possibly know"...

The worst ever Premier League managers | FourFourTwo
We are Southampton, a club built on blind faith from the beginning of Martin's tenure. A faith in himself. A faith other's are wrong. He has his beliefs, His own way of doing things that he refuses to change.
We don’t just buy failure, we breed it. We don’t take shortcuts, we fail slowly and obviously.
Every second of every minute of every day. We’ve move closer to the edge of the abyss and won't come back stronger, because whatever the pressure, however great the temptation, we never shoot, we never win games, we keep passing sideways.
We are the saints, it’s not just a name, it’s who we are. We are not even making up the numbers, we march down!

Seriously what's the fucking point? We all know what's going to happen, we'll piss about with it at the back, Villa will score, our heads will drop, they'll score a couple more, in the post match interviews their manager will patronise Martin and Martin will say we're brave, we're learning, he saw a lot he liked and completely fucking ignore the fact he's the worst top flight manager in our history, worse than even Steve fucking Wigley.Team for the game - I couldn't give a fuck whilst the useless lego headed cunt is still in charge. We could have prime Maradona, Cruyff and Beckenbauer in the side and he'd still train them to pass it sideways and backwards.

Russell Martin on Jack Stephens: "I don't need to tell him off or explain to him the importance of his role as captain”.
Russell Martin asked how he is coping: "I genuinely am enjoying it. It's the best feeling ever when you come through a spell like this and perspective is really important, I am doing a job that I love."
I genuinely think Martin is a just a massive fucking wind up merchant and is seeing just how far he can push the fanbase before they figure him out.
Literally no sane person could say they're enjoying getting beaten every week, then send the team out to do the same thing that's not worked any other time before and claim they're improving.

He now has officially the worst top flight record of any saints manager at this stage of the season, "beating" Steve WIgley who had 9 points after 14 games.
What gets me is how much Martin reminds me of Branfoot.
Not for style of play obviously, but the fact that he's got "his system", he refuses to change "his system" even when it's clear it doesn't work, he also has "his favourites" who no matter how badly they do won't be removed, and he has a level of extreme arrogance that simply doesn't map to the results.
The only difference is that so far he's not gone after the fans, but given it a few weeks and i don't think it's out of the question that happens.

I’m not buying some wannabe in the know rumours on this .. cortese wasn’t exactly throwing money around anyway .. a big core of our success revolves around the likes of lambert lalllana fonte and schneiderlin who we had from league one … if Markus was still alive nc would probably still be running things..
I dunno why people keep acting like I it’s a one off that nc was spending Marcus money .. Ankerson spends dragons money but isn’t any where near as effective ..
The wheels came off when Markus died . Katarina was only ever interested in cashing in on her asset so ousted cortese as fast as possible to regain power before selling to gao
also it’s hard to say it was propaganda from cortese .. with his managerial choices nearly all of them where gold and we improved with every switch of manager .. back to back promotions, great managers .. great scout in Mitchell. We where flying under pochettino who wass superb choice which nc decided on whilst going to scout coutinho..
as far as I’m concerned he did a fantastic job and pretty much flawless in his time here .. it’s just a shame we didn’t get to see the end of the movie
how anyone can say he wasn’t good for the club is beyond me .. he came in when we was dying and on the brink of extinction in league one and got us up to top ten in the premiership with one of our best periods since the keegan days
Honestly i have no need to prove if what i said was true or not, fairly sure those that know me know it is, and know that Cortese was out of control. Funny thing is Kat herself basically said that he'd been the cause of our financial problems when he left, but everyone chose to ignore that and have a go at her instead.
But yeah a flawless job was done, absolutely flawless...

Technically alan whitehead the MP and the local council were more responsible for St Mary's than Lowe, Lowe wanted Stoneham and was going all out for that, when it fell through he had no back up plan but Alan Whitehead and the Council approached the club with land on a brownfield site that wasn't being used.
It was actually more considerable luck that saw us get St Mary's rather than any clever planning or good business sense.

I mean you can think it's harsh but it's also the truth. People like @turkish know the facts behind the propaganda and know exactly what he was up to. The mad midget was completely responsible for the fire sale of players post Poch' and to be honest if we hadn't we'd have been in serious, serious financial trouble.
And that's before you get into his "home redecoration budget"

Yup he absolutely was, there's a section of our fanbase who hates to admit it but despite his public propaganda he wasn't a good thing for the club.

Properly jealous of Spurs. That’s a cracking fa cup draw and exactly the kind of game you want.
We’ve got a shit game at home to a team we’ve played loads (and will be playing again next season), who are on a good run at the moment and will probably beat us.
Maybe we can make it more interesting by saying the loser gets to keep Russell martin.

As usual my preference would be the skates (home or away), and failing getting them a team i've never been to before away.
Harrogate would be a laugh, @Turkish could organise the DEF to take the tea rooms in a display of strength the likes of which the Harrogate Tea Lady Ultras have never experienced before.

I see all the Martin lovers are out in force, guess the club has the whole PR team in at work today!
It's just that we're enlightened don't you see, no propaganda here, we have seen the light of the future of football and understand that Russell Martin's philosophy of football is so great, so all empowering, so CORRECT, that the entire game will change to his rules.
Goals will no longer count, only passes and pass completion, points will be allocated for bravery and relegation will be the new promotion.
In the coming years The Five Pledges will not just be published for us, they will be written into global law as the new rules of the game.
We will lead the charge from the Wessex league, becoming European Powerhouses (tm @gio1saints) alongside such giants as Totton, Sholing and Colden Common.
WE CHANGE THE GAME ON!

I'm guessing the main reason SR are slow to act on footballing matters is because they're still trying to get THE FIVE PLEDGES together, and there's no way any football club can operate (let alone win games) without THE FIVE PLEDGES.

I am going, going to every away I can whilst we remain in the premier league. I need to build up enough credit for the remaining London away days and the trip to the last ever game at Goodison. That’s my motivation, I don’t expect us to get anything from any away games. I’m not one of those who thinks it’s a forgone conclusion that we will be so “lucky” next time so I’m going to make the most of this sad and pathetic season.
I go to pretty much every away game because Saints are basically an abusive relationship for me at this point. Watching Russball brings me little pleasure, causes me a lot of pain, but I can’t give it up because I always think it might come good.
Oh well never let the football get in the way of a day out at the football right?

New manager
in The Saints
Posted
Pretty much spot on that, even pre-game i was told that SR weren't intending to sack Martin for a number of reasons, the first being cost, the second being that they didn't think they could attract the right manager given the position we are in, and the third being they didn't think they had anyone capable enough as interim manager.
But that changed due to the first half performance against spurs and as @Turkish has said he was pretty much fired at half time. I'm absolutely sure had it only be 1-0 or 2-0 he'd still have a job.
It's also worth noting people in the club are very, very aware of how fucked we are at the moment and it's not a nice environment to be working in.
