  1. There have been various suggestions on here ranging from 3 months, to 14 days if it has happened a couple of times before. The standard Football League contract has some such clause but I don't know about the PL. There is also the question of standard employment law. From what I have read it's a case of the player applying to have his contract voided at which point he would become a free agent with no transfer fee involved and possibly he may then be able to play for a third club in the same season.

The contract pro forma for all PL players is on the PL website as part of the "Forms" download:

    http://www.premierleague.com/page/Handbook/0,,12306,00.html

Relevant section is Form 13, clause 17:

"If the Club is guilty of serious or persistent breach of the terms and conditions of this Agreement the Player may on giving fourteen days’written notice to the Club terminate this agreement."

So the 14 days notice commences when the players decide they've had enough...

  2. Well my Christmas present turned up yesterday ( i had to sign for it) so i thought i had better make sure it works before letting the wife wrap it for me ;o)

While i have my grubby hands on it i was wondering along the same lines as "Scummer", what apps do people recommend and are there any other sites besides iTunes where you can get apps/movies/music etc?

    Cheers,

    Col.

Apps will be from the iTunes store only, unless you jailbreak the device.

You can load your own music and films (through the iTunes application, not the store). Music should be mp3 or AAC (Apple's own) format. It might do other formats but don't think it does WMA. Video is a bit more complex than that as the device has some specific requirements around screen size, framerate etc, so you can't just load any old divx file on it.

  3. Looks like the SaintsTV website is incorrectly parsing the Safari user agent string and thinks you're running Mozilla. Not to mention the decision to deny access to content based on a user's browser choice ...

No surprise to see that it's amateur-hour on the websites as well as on the pitch ;)

If you're really keen, you could try changing the Safari user agent so that websites think it's Firefox or IE...

  4. Just got back (i live local). Great game, cracking result! Ref absolutely bottled a stonewall penalty first half, but that's just par for the course now...

We really dug in when they got one back. Looked rocky for a few minutes, but stood firm after that.

Looking forward to the normal gloating Reading fans at work on Monday :-D

  5. Just got back.

Great result and it was shooting practice towards the end. But we should remember that at 2-0 and with 10 men, Norwich were always going to leave gaps, just like we did at QPR.

The other "but" is that it really should have been 1-1 just before our penalty. Really sloppy bit of play let in their left winger (can't remember his name, but he absolutely owned us down that side) and he should have scored. Take nothing away from Kelvin though, world class save, followed by another off the resulting corner.

I was waiting for one of our passes across the back to gift them a chance as it had looked on the cards all first half...

Think the sending off was for something he said or general aggressiveness to the ref. The foul certainly wasn't worthy of a straight red, and i'm not even sure it was him that committed it.

Definitely worth catching Robertson's goal, it was a screamer.

Back-to-back 2-0 wins. Bring on the Sky cameras!

And the official attendance is wrong. A mate of mine who hasn't been in a while bought a ticket just before kick off but in his haste he somehow ended up getting two and paying 48 quid... I can only assume he thought that prices had gone up significantly in the last year or so...

  6. Despite strong competition, the award for stupidest post of the season goes to...

    I would yes.

Me and about 20,000 others who refuse to turn up to see a reserve team play.

As long as 14,000 muppets keep turning up we will never get the club we all yearn for.

  7. My Wife Thinks I am mad jumping up and down

Yeah, this pre-season seems so ... *important* ! Like it somehow actually matters if we do well. Can't wait for the season proper... roll on the weekend! :)
