If other clubs are interested, as rumoured, and we go in with a mickey mouse offer we stand to lose the player. Business deals don't get over the line by insulting the other party, especially if someone else is prepared be more realistic. By all means chance your arm with an offer, but you can't take the p1ss.

Just suppose the player and his Agent have decided he is coming to Saints in preference to other interested parties - would that not strengthen our hand in negotiations? Not tha we would tap anyone up, of course.

If this is the case, why did the club not say so? Why was the dodgy website put together? Are we sure that this is a method of bringing funds into the club, rather than the creation of an entity that would allow funds to exit the club?

Not you as well. How would this reverse sponsorship deal work? FFS GAO owns 80% of the club, he could just charge a management fee to the club and take money out that way. I’m not saying LD Sports is or isn’t legit, but some of the nonsense on here is, well, nonsense.

If there is a complete absence of communication from the owners then of course people will speculate. The club should see that there is plenty of negative speculation and do something about it.

 

The fact that there continues to be zero communication is itself indicative of a problem, IMO.

Considering the amount we have to pay when we sack them, this is kind of understandable.

How much do we have to pay?? Genuine question. There seems to be a perceived wisdom that we have to pay up the remaining term of their contract, whereas I doubt that is ever the case. Reason one is both Puel and MoP found jobs quite quickly. Second reason is none of us know what compensation is written in to the contract - it might me a set amount or one year's money.

Happy to corrected by thosewho know better.

Really don't have much confidence in the club appointing the right guy, given the CV's of the people on the board..
