I’ve not said it’s happening.....why this common mistake. Just said Midfielder incoming...as in rumour. Don’t get this place at all. Take all my rumours as gospel.

The thing is mate, they’re not your rumours are they? If you just posted xyz journo has linked us with abc footballer, you'd get no stick at all. But no, you have to do the let’s pretend I’m ITK nonsense.

It’s Josip. There is an unverified instagram account following Saints, and an unverified twitter account not, so far as I can see.

Said midfielder has just followed us on ****ter and Instasham. So done deal.

If it’s in the public domain, just name him instead of all this BS

You're such a tease. When this turns out to be horse sh*t, please make sure to apologise to everyone whose excitement you awoke for no reason!
In fairness, he does, as he said, have a 100% record.

No idea how reliable Soccer Link are as a source:
They can have the clause, but the loan fee goes up to £20m.

Very much not our ‘type’ but Cahill would have improved our back 4. Looks like he’s off to palace now though.
We’ve lacked a leader since fonte/VvD, certainly think he would have filled a hole for a season or 2
They guy only made 2 PL appearances last year, is 33 and is costing them £75kpw plus I’m guessing a significant signing on fee and agents fees. It’s actually a huge gamble by Palace IMO.

Really interested to see how we get on with it.

So what other options are there if no side wants to buy or guarantee buying him? Do you all suggest we let him sit on sidelines?

Arsenal fail in 60 million euro bid for Upamecano according to Bild
They aren't half stretching that £45m budget.

IMO, allowing a player to take more than one penalty in the same game is a recipe for disaster (unless they are MLT or SRL). Rarely works out.

Bore off will you
Well, that’s ruined my morning. Damn.

Wouldn’t that be a debt incurred by the owner and not the club?
Yes, but it impacts on the club if the owner is raiding club funds to service his borrowing, or if he starts to load his personal debt on to the club. He has not, so far, done either so far as I can see from the filed accounts. Th only thing he is “guilty” of is not investing more of his personal wealth to allow the club to spend more on transfers/wages.

Heard a nice story from the owner of a restaurant i ate at in Oxford street last night. He stated when Tadic was here he became a regular in his restaurant with his family and friends. Over time the two became friends and Tadic introduced him to other Serbian players at parties in London.
When Tadic was sold he asked the restaurant owner if he would drive him to the airport in Tadic's Porche Cayane, which he agreed. However there was one flaw in that plan, how was the restaurant owner getting home? Tadic told him he had two options, either he catches the train home or he drives the porche home because he's not taking the car with him. He basically handed over the keys to a car worth over £50K for nothing.
The restaurant owner sold the car and used the money to buy his wife her own business in Canute road. Apparently Tadic said loads of players when sold to countries abroad just abandon their cars at the airports!!
What a great guy he was!
The finance company will be furious

We are comfortably not top half.
True. Even RH recognised that at the fans forum indicating he would settle for somewhere between 9th and 14th. TBH, after the last two seasons, and at this stage of rebuilding, I’d very happily settle for 14th.

You might argue that the owner's inability to invest capital in the club at the level permitted by FFP is entirely germane to the club's finances and competitiveness.
Unless you have evidence that he is unable to, or that if he isn’t he would chose to do so, it isn’t germane to the clubs finances. In any event, the club was already operating under the same financial stricture before Gao, so the basis of your original argument is, I’m afraid, unsound.

Too late Faz, already explained that earlier in the thread. Best to get up before lunchtime on Sunday.
Pardon me for having a life.

If I were being a sophist like you, I'd point to the Macquarie loan. As it is, I'm sure you understand perfectly well why I consider a debt taken on by the owner for the sole purpose of purchasing the club as germane to the club's overall financial position.
I think you’re perfectly capable of being a sophist. The cash flow facility has been in place since our return to the PL in one form or another. The owners debt is only germane if it impacts upon the finances of the club, which it so far has not.

The whole 'we don't develop players for other clubs' attitude was from a different era, when we were debt free and had a reasonable amount of financial clout compared to our size and status in the league.
If the club's financial position really is as stricken as various mouthpieces insist we must believe, then we can't afford to be high-minded about using any means at our disposal to improve the squad, even if it's just temporarily.
We still are debt free. HTH.

He played well today, maybe he should start at Burnley in place of Redmond?
Riiiight. Replace our player of the season with a flipertyjibbert.
