I am utterly bored with this sh*t.
Another month will go by, and we will discover that we havent got a buyer
Following this Fawlty Towers-scale farce is the biggest waste of our time ever.
I thought you wanted administration?
-
I think he would say yes ....
.. A False Dawn, IMHO Out of the frying pan ... into the frying pan
Saving the Club is one thing ..... but back to how it's been for over 12 years of Non growth ...... it would not be long before only the Chapel End would be open
so you would prefer to go bust than have 'non gowth'??????
Personally I think it unlkely anyone other than a consortium will by SFC. Are we so attractive that us fans can pick who we want to buy the club?
Some don't want MJ because he failed to buy Bournemouth and gives poor interviews.
Great. let's boycott him and wait for someone else.......
-
I am sure it won't be long before the Premier League decide to break away from the other divisions and have their own 'franchise'. No team would be relegated similar to the American football and basketball leagues. That way they keep all of the money and the only thing to play for is cup finals.
This would be very boring in my opinion, but at least there are strict rules regarding salary caps, etc, and the lower teams get to pick the best players. This means no one team dominates every season.
It's all about the money in the Premiership and this is a way of keeping - watch this space!
Personally I think non-league has become more attractive to support when I return.

I couldn't disagree more. Madjeski is the last man I can think of to go "balls out" for promotion. His next manager will have a strict budget to work to and promotion will happen if it happens. He won't buy it.
I agree he won't risk everthing for one season. However, I do see him as wanting more than mid table security in the CCC.
-
Seems quite odd - its not like none of those players can't do a pretty decent job in the CCC.
And odd that they've done this before the manager is appointed, too.
I think they have more ambition (and resources) than just doing a 'decent' job in the CCC.
Some clubs are lucky to be in the CCC, some are happy to be mid table and profitable, and others have no other goal than winning promotion.
-
They probably feel these players are not good enough to get them promoted no matter who is the manager.
Madjeski may be be prepared to spend some money in an attempt to get a decent manager and promotion. I think they still get reasonable crowds too.
-
Bennett and Murty would be useful if we had some money.......
-
God, yawn. "Waaah waaah waah, people get paid more money than me".
?
Are you on the right thread?
-
Sorry my bad, simply forgot the 's' is all. I use maths rather than math and 'write to me' rather than 'write me'.
Unfortunately I have been working with some yanks the last couple of days so my language slips a little!!
So, press conference at 4pm? awesome!!
try living and working with them!!!!
Go Figure!!

.... lol, nevermind, the idea was good whilst it lasts.
Can anyone else not help but think that the money everyone has spunked up the wall to pay for the players wages has gone completely to waste?
£91k pledged ( not given, pledged ) to the cause.... not even enough to pay the wage bill for a couple of days, let alone have any impact in taking the club over.
Can't say I am suprised about the All-Stars match, ok it wasn't advertised well, infact it is probably the worst piece of marketing I have ever seen, if Lawrie had to phone 30 players to say it was cancelled, why didn't we know about any of them? Maybe people would have bought a ticket if they had been privvy to who was actually playing!
These last few weeks have been yet another example and the nail in the coffin to prove that fan participation never works.
Let's hope we get taken over sooner rather than later, leave the pledging to the big boys who can really make a difference and hope that a brighter future is round the corner.
Makes me sick to think I have put money in the buckets etc whilst the players have not donated a dime between them.
Just another sad and hopefully final chapter in a completely embarrasing 5 years. Let's hope for a new book with a better storyline to be released soon.
Totally agree.
IMO, this is a major part of the problem with professional football - GREED.
Everyone including non-playing staff, seem to think the fans will cough up dosh no matter what.
I have to congratulate the Eastleigh players as they accepted reduced wages in November as a result of the credit crunch. Semi pro players appear a hell of a lot more realistic.
-
I really hope we don't suffer the same problems they did in 98. After entering administration it took over a year for them to be sold.
They fell into administration because a local businessman bought them and and ran out of money - be warned!
-
But that starved the club of money they could have the tickets for.Surely the club comes first at this time.It is all conjecture at present of course.
Surely, LM's son and mates should not get freebies for a charity night?
Personally I believe no freebies should be given on a night designed to raise money. Every free ticket took 20 quid from the night.
We don't even know if this is true so let's not get too excited.
-
You must have good eyesight, being able to determine that from way over there. All this 'crap', is direct quotes from the main players, who are now saying their peice...........
Actually I've just got back from Soton and have read most of this weeks Echo.
My point is anyone will blame others for the failings of SFC if it means they don't get stick themselves. The paper is playing this up to sell more.
Why can't we all move on and let the bitterness go? (not you Alpine)
-
I think it's too expensive. Surely a tenner woud be more realistic?
This is a match to raise money for a commercial operation/business. I don't think the organisers should take the p1ss out of the fans.
It would be nice to know how much the players/celebs are getting compensated for the game. This might help with the crowd numbers...
-
As usual the Echo is stirring up crap about SFC to sell more papers. Ignore it.
-
and if one does not exist ?
We die and start over again.
I don't think a fans trust will be robust enough to support the overhead of the current business, even for League 1.
However, I remain cautiously optimistic that a suitable buyer will come forward after the season has ended.
-
'the lunatics have taken over the asylum'
I am a fan and have been for the best part of 40 years but I have no desire to run the club and I don't like the idea of any other fans/supporters trying to either.
Our job is to support through thick and thin, paying for the privelage and passing the illness onto our offspring.
Well said!
This is already appearing to be an ego trip for some.
The idea of trying to run a 'for profit' organisation with over ten thousand 'directors' is bizarre.
Stop meddling with the bidding process!
-
I don't like the idea.
We need a financially sustainable owner with professional people running the day to day business.
-
administration due to falling gate receipts.......
-
I'd rather hear nothing from Lowe or Wilde ever again if I'm honest.
or Alpine.
FFS, let's all move on.
-
I'd have thought he had enough on his plate already dealing with that bloody Emu and being dead and all . Personaly I prefer the Chuckle Brothers anyway .
how about Lennie Bennett?
oh hang on......
-
not wishing to name drop (!) but Rod was asking me yesterday morning after football, what the fck is going on at Saints. Apparently he was scheduled to be there in the Summer but this has now been postponed...?
I asked him to to make a bid and bring his buddy WGS back to manage. He wasn't too keen on this idea... if only.. :0
-
Pointless thread at this stage.
We don't know if we will be in existence by May, let alone looking at buying players.
-
Yeah I'm enviously watching that game too - 4 ex-Saints playing with passion....
great crowd and atmosphere as well...

Sorry to ruin this rumour, but I can confirm to the best of my knowledge that he will not buy SFC.
I play for the same club as him in Palos Verdes, LA, and told him he should buy SFC the week of entering admin, and get WGS as manager.
He said no, he doesn't buy football clubs.
PS. he is currently in UK and Europe for his summer hols.
