Great result. Thanks to the Saints fans on the tube that gave a Saints badge and a couple of quid to Draino03 to sing OWTS. 03 was shy at first; as it was his 1st away game but he was getting well into it by kickoff! He plays OWTS amongst other ditties on the piano so we showed him a new version what he loved today. Cheers!xxx

I've said it before and I'll say it again. We are bigger than Brighton, Bompey and the skates combined.

I have had this problem for over a month and it is irritating me to the point I am experimenting with different browsers. If you close chrome then reopen then this usually gets resolved; but that is irritating also.

This analysis is from my father (a mathematician), for what it's worth....I asked him if the rational thing to do was to bet against Saints being promoted given the current odds (we're 2/7 or 1/4 TO GO UP)

4. Huddersfield would need 16 points from 7 games - this means winning at least five games, and losing not more than one (and they still have to play Peterborough at home, and Milton Keynes and Brighton away).

 

 

So I expect that even if you got 18 or 19 points from the last 10 games you would still stand a reasonable chance of finishing second. So my assessment of the probabilities of finishing second are

Southampton 65%

Huddersfield 20%

Peterborough 10%

Milton Keynes 5%

Bournemouth 0%

 

 

If you don't finish second you are certain to be in the play offs, and I would think your chances are at least 1 in 3 of winning these if you go that route. So Southampton's probability of promotion, based on the situation as of today is

0.65 + 0.35 x 0.33 = 0.77

which equates exactly to odds of 2/7.

 

 

So I see no reason to lay off your bets. I do see Saturday's game against Milton Keynes as a critical one in affecting these calculations. If Milton Keynes lose they will stand virtually no chance of finishing second, and Southampton's odds of promotion will certainly shorten. If you lose, the challenge of 18+ points from 9 games would be tougher. If you draw, you are (just about) on track.

Talk about a damp squib; I played the campaign through in all its 3D slendour and I havent touched it since. TBF I'm fed up of shooters and went back to Super Street Fighter 4.

It has only reaffirmed my belief they are akin to a pot made from tin. That video looks like it has been produced on a Playstation 2; and I'm being nice.

It looks as if we are going up; that much is obvious. Brighton may be a tinpot club but you have to hand it to them; it looks as if they will fluke the league this year after many decades of trying. The most likely outcome is that we will be promoted in 2nd place, but as we know the only other teams that would be in the playoffs we have smashed to bits anyway!

I bet he is carp anyway because I haven't even heard of him. We won't even make the playoffs.

I think he is almost certainly 23. When he signed for Oldham from Bury in 2008 he was reported to be 20 then.

Maybe he was only 18 at that time.
