Judging by some of the comments on here over the last few days you'd think we're playing Brazil on Saturday, not Blackpool.
Of course it will be a tricky encounter but we've every reason to go there full of confidence and expecting to take all 3 points. On current form how some people can say "can't see us winning this one" etc is beyond me.
Lookin forward to what should be a good open game with both sides strong in attack - hopefully we have enough class at the back to make sure we leave with the points.

tickets go on general sale tomorrow http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2642677,00.html just call up and they'll send you one in the post, or alternatively pay on the day as i am sure we won't sell out over 2000 for a late kick off up there. Will be a cracking trip for those who do make the journey so if you can get down there from scotland you should. Game on BBC1 and cameras are across from the away fans so the more there the better to make our support look better.
Phoned up and ordered tickets on Wednesday so looking forward to it. Only downside being that I'm having to take the missus with me, though she's agreed to drive - bonus!
Expect there may be a good few folk coming down from Scotland, judging by the amount of people from up here I met at Carlisle last year we seem to have a decent following North of the border.
Should be a good'un.

Just noticed the Blackpool game is a 5.25 kickoff - is this game on TV?
Considering heading down though unsure if getting ahold of tickets would potentially be a problem... how's the chances of picking up tickets for our end on match day? Haven't been through there before so no idea of what allocation we get.

Why is Greg Wylde getting heaps of praise on here? The guy has a bit of pace but absolutely no final ball to go along with it. Naismith is the only guy in a forward sense who would get near our team and even that would be limited to rare appearances in the wide areas.

****ger, Bocannegra &Naismith would add to the squad

Any baseball fans on the forum, or am I the only one?
I went to America with my secondary school in 2004 and we landed in Boston on the day the Red Sox beat the Yankees having been three down in the ALCS to win 4 - 3. We could see fireworks from the airport as we waited for our coach to leave! Whilst we were there the Red Sox won the World Series for the first time in 86 years, so I made an effort to keep up with their fortunes.
Sadly, being in the UK and not a subscriber to any channels like ESPN that plan fell flat on its face, but I discovered MLB on Five just in time to watch the Red Sox clinch the '07 World Series - I consider myself to be a bit of a lucky charm!
I'm going to make a (better) effort to follow the Red Sox this season, I see that Francona has left and Bobby Valentine has been brought in. Interesting times at Fenway, one would think. I have to confess I don't know everything about Baseball, but I think I've got the basics down. Maybe this is the season where I get my head round it all.
So, any fans on here? If so, who do you follow and why?
I have family in Philadelphia and spend quite a lot of time there so I’m a Phillies die-hard.
Unlike a lot of UK Phillies fans who have jumped on the bandwagon in recent years, I’ve had the “pleasure” of sitting through season upon season of finishing bottom of the division and attending games in front of 10,000 people using tickets you got free with packets of hotdogs ( it was the only way they could get anyone to go back then).
Over the years I’ve seen a few memorable things at games I’ve attended – a switch hitter hitting a HR from each side of the plate (Tomas Perez, of all people), a HR hit by a relief pitcher (Omar Oliveras), and a complete game loss from Roy Halladay, to name but a few.
Looking forward to this season big time, definitely the most fired up going into a season I’ve ever been. This is the year for the Phillies, I have no doubt.
PS. For those of you who don’t have it, MLB TV is an absolute must.

Interesting to note that he's been left out of the Scotland squad for next week's game...
Odd indeed.
-
Looks like they are both quick players who play off a targetman...
Rhodes isn't quick.
Hooper is quick and an excellent finisher. He doesn't always get himself involved when he's not scoring goals but would definitely be a good fit beside Rickie.
Rhodes, IMO, is a more well rounded forward. Much stronger and better in the air than Hooper but without the same pace. Also younger but I think he could end up going for far more than the £5mil that's being quoted at the moment.
I'd be delighted with either.
-
As another poster said, he'll be back at Rangers to replace Jelavic in January. He and Rickie wouldn't work together, two goalscorers with no pace, and he'd have no reason to accept a short-term deal either as he'll not be short of offers with his goalscoring record.
-
Who is this ****ing arsehole commentator/analyst?!
We've looked lackluster today, no service to the strikers at all. Seem totally devoid of ideas. Difficult to see where a goal could come from.
-
Very poor so far... unable to string two passes together and under constant pressure as a result. Keep giving away these free kicks and corners and they'll convert one of them so must do better in that respect.
What a save by Kelvin there....
-
I don't see why not. Although alot will depend upon our ability to keep guys fit... Lose Lambert, Cork or Fonte for any period of time and we'd begin to drop points IMO
-
He couldn't get near a ****-poor Rangers side which speaks volumes.
No thanks.
-
Can we get anyone else in on loan from Scotland or is it only from England?
I say we offer James McFadden training facilities for a start!
-
Definately no poll here.
However, I don't think it's an absolute necessety to get in a striker. Unless one of the forwards goes down with a long term injury I can see Lambert, Connolly, Barnard & Guily being just fine to manage the workload and if it's pace off the bench you want then we have Forte.
In saying that, you can never have too many good players...
-
Dyer and BWP who were being complete *****s and were just using their little bit of local fame to try and impress some of the less classy birds.
Can you honestly say you'd act any differently if you were in their position?
-
Thanks SFC Chris. looks like you'll have to make a trip south to see for yourself!
I haven't been to a game since the defeat at Carlisle... I'm bad luck!
-
As a Scottish Southampton fan from outside Glasgow I've possibly seen more of JH than most on here... he came to Celtic with a big reputation and I think that's pretty much why he's viewed so negatively by Celtic fans - injuries and a couple of mistakes have seen him labelled a total failure.
He's a big guy, good in the air and reasonably clever with the ball at his feet but not the quickest. If the change of scene gives him the confidence boost he desperately needs then we may just have a player on our hands.
There's no reason he can't be a success here.
-
If DC is as highly thought of as everyone is making out then why would you insult him by offering a pay as you play deal and expect him to train all week for buttons if he isn't selected on the Saturday? I'm aware that what people are saying is that give him a low basic wage with a high appearance fee but if NA is overlooking him more often than not (according to DC himself) then it wouldn't make much sense for him to sign such a deal.
-
Nice to see a couple of other Phillies fans on here.
Decent start to the season, though the offence has went slightly cold more recently. Cant' say i'm overly concerned however... Phillies will win the NL at a canter and will win it all once again IMO.
-
Why settle for the playoffs, that is an utterly rediculous thing to suggest. We have a squad that should hold up enough to take second, and the playoffs are a lottery anyway.
Lets be honest, at 1-0 did anyone think that BWP wasn't going to score?!
-
Anyone else think they might be delaying Connolly's return to the squad until after Barney's court appearance?
When is his court appearance? Much chance of him going down... surely not?
-
How many fans do you reckon we'll take? I assume they will be selling tickets right up until kickoff?

More people who think we're playing Brazil today... True our unbeaten run won't last for ever but it's easier to win when ur winning than win when you're not.
Headed down from Scotland yesterday, really looking forward to this one. Any updates on team news?
