That title will get the Brighton fans going again...
Saturday is a big game. We need to really notch up an away win and if, IF, things go our way could be 8 points clear.
Unfortunately Boro and Derby play each other so the most we can be ahead is 7 points if these two draw.
-
Absolutely. After about a year of saying we should sign him and reading people say he was a League 2 player, it's bound to happen. Don't forget Mills and Gorkss are guaranteed to score too, so we will need at least 3 goals to get anything from this.
I would drop Guly away from home. If Lallana is fit, I'd put him back in and play Chaplow on the right instead. Other than that, same team I guess.
I feel like this, got a feeling Gorkss will score.
Does make me chuckle that after such an important win last night we're surfing on a wave of invincibility but we're not invincible and I'm less confident about Reading than I was about West Ham. Our away form of late has been steady but not amazing. Would love to win but a draw wouldn't be too bad and I think it will finish a draw, having Adam back fully fit could make a difference though.

Why Alan Pardew got the shove.
100% genuine from a person who is still employed by SFC, I am not going to say if this person is Staff or Player and will not say why AP was fired. However there was not a bust up during training it was not over who was bonking who`s other half nor was it over any Drinking culture. Pards had a few heated run ins with NC and despite what some may think St Markus wanted AP out of SMS before the Wembley final but did not wish to alienate the Fans.
The real truth will out in due coarse.
My personal opinion of Ap is now on a par with Redknapp.
So you've come on to say "I know why Pardew left but I'm not saying..."
We don't know who you are or who your source is and probably what you know isn't the full truth anyway so why are you scared to say what you know? Throw an alleged in at the start and you've covered yourself.
That is unless you don't believe it yourself.

*In Keegan mode*
I would love it, LOVE IT if we won tonight.
I reckon this could be difficult though, we're favourites to win and the new players coming in for Cardiff will be fresh and eager to prove themselves. I can see us drawing and 'boro winning so we'll be second going into the weekends games but we'll regain top spot after beating Watford and our rivals all playing away.
I think we should play a strong midfield and win the battle there, make the bluebirds chase shadows for a while and wear them down. My starting line up would be
-----------------------Davis---------------------------
Frazer----------Fonte-----------Jos--------------Fox
------------Morgan-----Cork----Hammond------------
De Ridder -------------------------------------Lallana
-----------------------Lambert----------------------
Should be a good game.

Decent point but wanted to win as I can see us struggling at cardiff. I think a 4-5-1 formation would work better away from home as we seem keen on sticking with 4-4-2 in every match (not complaining as it's worked so far but maybe teams are figuring us out).
Still, top of the league and and can't ask to be higher than that 8 games in, a fair few teams are now lurking behind us though.
-
I suppose that is dependent upon whether all you care about is results and how much you are bothered by some of the smaller errors of judgement. It's sort of like how I'm not too keen on us winning promotion or at least staying there long term as my participation in terms of going to games will be dramatically reduced. In that sense I'm selfish. I would rather see saints being less successful and get to go to the majority of games than see saints doing well in the premiership but only being able to go to a handful.
If your sad pathetic dreams came true and we were less successful and didn't achieve promotion to the Premier League anytime soon you would be the first person to blame Cortese and use it to knock him, you'd whinge like a little girl that he didn't do enough and how you were right and better than everyone else, but now he's stating his ambition you whinge like the little girl you are saying "It's all talk blah blah blah, look at me trying to wind as many people up as possible by being a complete clueless nobody"
Nothing Cortese will do will please you because you enjoy the negative side of life.
-
That definitely shouldn't be the attitude. We don't need backup.
Wow, an agreement with Hypo for a change
I think we should still only bring players in that will provide competition for the starting line up not only to be considered as back up, so if we are to bring in a striker he has to be damn good, good enough to compete with Lambert and Conners.
-
hasn't he just torn up his contract to be with his son who has been diagnosed with cancer?
Haha! Are you serious? You never saw him come out a few days ago saying it's all rubbish and he doesn't even have a son? I didn't even know there were any rumours until I saw him deny it!
-
They're exactly the same answers to what GeorgeWeahsCousin copied from twitter, word for word. So it's still doesn't clarify if they're true or not.
-
Don't lie, you don't have any chums!
I'm his bum chum
-
Really hope he comes through with no after affects, if drunk a simple push can cause serious damage if your can't get your hands up to stop your head crashing on the pavement.
I assume the club haven't reported on this yet as they want the full facts before blurting any echo reported rubbish. I assume sibley will be the one who first mentions it from the club
-
Good ol Nick. He knows he's going to be swamped with questions about transfers from people who are bitter about a "poor" transfer window where we've kept all our quality players and brought in 4 players who can play at this level but he's going to take it all on the chin. Be nice to hear him say that our goal is promotion as well.
Going to be interesting to hear the reports on this one.
-
Be nice to see youth be given a run out but would imagine he won't be playing now if he's giving out teamsheet information.
-
No, he's really not.
As soon as I saw who had started the thread I knew it would be something which he thought painted our club, and chairman, in a bad light.
This.
Funny, somehow I knew it wouldn't be a praising post. Don't see FF starting threads with articles praising the chairman do we? Wonder why that is... missing out on some privileges now perhaps?
-
d)they'll pay his agent a fortune
This is why I think he might end up at West Ham (sadface)
-
He's signed for Reading, let's move on. This doesn't worry me in the slightest as recent history dictates we'll sign someone of quality there anyway. We'l sign someone better and someone who can play at a higher level, something which Gorkss is unable to do according to managers that keep letting him go when they reach the prem.
-
@Moose_talkSPORT heard from great source in MK the WHU have match 2.00 million bid from Southampton for Baldock.100%sure this is correct"
I hate that príck. Can imagine his girly squeaking giggle as he goes on about massive west ham smashing tiny saints to the signing of the season. I hope we sign Baldock now just to wipe the smug grin off his fat face.
Also coss Baldock is a decent player.
-
Really hope so, to stay in the top 6 for the rest of the season we need more strength in depth, with the additions being competitive for the first team.
-
Weird, how Lardy isn't around saying much after the great result, sticks in the throat probably.
-
If we get both I can see it being a case of replacing Rickie and Conners when we get to the Prem and they will be out strike force. Love the fact we're getting youngster in that will will be a massive force to be reckoned with in 3+ years time when we're challenging for top 10 in the prem!
-
To be honest, if we spend 5m+ on a champ player with only 1 year left on his contract we're either very rich or very stupid. I hope it's the former. I bet 80% of the people jumping on the Maynard bandwagon had never heard of him until we were linked with him, in Nigel I trust though and if he wants Maynard and gets NC to spend big then I hope it pays off, I'm pretty clueless about him like most of the people on here about him, we can all look at stats but who's watched him, I bet most of the people getting excited here about him have seen nothing but figures on a website.
-
No one can be negative about this signing, the only reason to be negative is if he's not better than what we currently have. On the face of it he could be a lot better than what we have at left back so therefore it's a great signing.
Nigel did say that the only players coming in will be ones that are better than what we have. We don't owe the weaker players a living, Harding and Dickson will have to work harder now.
Great stuff! Hopefully more to come.

Whenever I score I have to hug her afterwards or she gets in a mood!

I'd have gone had the prices been a bit more realistic. £14 + the booking fee/ticket tax, whatever want to call it. Rather save it for the 2 up coming away games.
What ticket tax is that?
Paid when I got there and and it was £14 like it said on the tin. £14 to watch 4 saints goals, decent price to me.
