  1. has anybody seen him play for us, and if so how many times?

I know he is injury prone but until I have seen him play I cant comment on his ability. It is no use reading what other clubs fans say as Im sure we would have told the Spurs fans that Bale was class, Dean Richards superb etc etc and many would have told Stoke that Fuller and Delap were rubbish but are both integral.

Saw him play a couple of times in pre-season. Awful, absolutely awful. He can't pass, his touch is awful, he can't tackle...he's just diabolical. The sooner we get shot of him, the better.

  2. What SuperMikey said....

Ref the Hollywood remake, graphic and fairly violent as the Swedish version is, the Hollywood version may choose to keep Hakan's character (Eli's 'guardian') as he has a much larger role to play in the book. Although Oskar is a victim of bullying, he too is depicted as a much more malevolent character. So, much I frown when I hear 'Hollywood remake' there is scope to make a good job of this.

I haven't seen the film (I have the DVD in my 'to watch' pile), but in the book Oskar is actually a pretty dark character. He dreams of being a serial killer and has a fascination with knives and other weaponry. The film probably glosses over this a bit to focus on the relationship between him and Eli.

I was also disappointed to hear that Hakan isn't in the film as much as he is in the book, because I felt that his sub-plot was what really drove on the second half of the story. I'd also loved to have seen the scene with him and Tommy (who was also left out of the film I believe?) in the basement, although it'd probably scare the sh*t out of me as well! That scene, if done properly, could really be horrifying, and i'm sure that a Hollywood studio would make sure that such a well written horror scene would be included in the film.

  3. Out of interest, and this is aimed at Redbul seeing as you have seemingly read it, was the book originally written in Swedish as well?

I've read the book as well, and I believe that it was originally written in Swedish but it's been translated into loads and loads of different languages.

    According to Wikipedia:

The book was a bestseller in the author's home country of Sweden and has been translated into Danish, German, Russian, English and Chinese in 2007 and Finnish in 2008. It has also been translated into Italian, Spanish, Polish, and Norwegian. A Swedish-language film version by the same name, directed by Tomas Alfredson, was released in 2008 to widespread critical acclaim. An English-language remake, to be directed by Matt Reeves, is scheduled for release in 2010.
  4. Yeah - not killers or animals that tear faces apart though - yes?

Oh - and ever seen a dog chase a rabbit or a swan for that matter? I think that indinenous small birds as you put it are a hardly worth mentioning.

Oh come on, it's not like every dog is a f*cking serial killer. There are 'evil' dogs in the same way that there are 'evil' people amongst other animals and species. Most dogs are lovely, friendly, and good fun. I'm yet to meet a cat that I actually like. I find them to be ungrateful little bastards.

What have you got against dogs anyway Jilly?

  5. Ladies and Gentlemen (and WiltshireSaint) we have a winner:

Bet you searched pussy instead of cat. That's cheating!

  6. So no chance of me getting from fleet to Slough tomorow then !!??

I'm just down the road from you in Hartley Wintney. From the looks of the roads, I don't think you'll be going anywhere fast! Motorways will be cleared overnight though, and early in the morning, so once you get on there you ought to be alright.

  7. Because Perry is better.

Different types of centre back tbh. Thomas is more of a clogger, bit of a brute in the air and more of a physical presence, whereas Perry is a bit more of a hounder in that he pressures strikers and isn't afraid to get stuck in with a tackle.

Chalk and cheese in centre back terms.

  8. Swap deal- Gillet for Stock?

    I wish

Good point, maybe Gillet will be involved in the deal somehow. Although, with reported interest from West Brom and Cardiff, we might have a hard time persuading him to drop down a league when he could be at a couple of clubs potentially looking at Prem football next season.

  9. Really not enthused about this, I really firmly believe that there are far better options out there. Pericard is just slow as f*ck, his touch is awful and he's only scored something like 21 goals in his entire career. At age 27, that's pretty p*ss poor. I'm willing to be proved wrong though, so if AP can motivate Pericard to start scoring goals regularly and becoming a good team player, then I would be willing to eat a big ol' slice of humble pie.

Or perhaps AP could give me a contract? I'm 6'4, maybe I CDAJFU? :D

  10. I think you'll find all the top managers use FM to simulate the market before making a bid. It's standard practice as they don't want to be caught out by saddos on message boards and looking as though they haven't done thier homework.

Sadly FM has lead to the almost total demise of the traditional scouting network - what's the point when you have a ready made one for 19.99?

Even Chelsea's head scout admitted using it to scout for young talent. I must say, it's a good tool. Most of the players have their ability controlled by fans, so it's representative of actual opinion, rather than just random numbers assigned to players.

  11. SuperMikey is clearly manager of Hearts on FM2010

    Is it that obvious? :D

    Are you an agent?????????????????

No, but perhaps that could be a career path to move down in the future. Ever thought about being a career advisor?

James McArthur would be an excellent addition to our squad, good shout SuperMikey.

He would be great, especially if we were to lose one of our key central midfielders in the near future. Definitely could be a key player for years to come.
