And what is happening on the forensics side of investigating the old pompey
Still ongoing I believe. Just one more of the ticking things that might go off at any moment.
-
I think we missed this news story... http://www.sportingintelligence.com/2011/06/16/premier-league-clubs-clear-tax-arrears-as-football-governance-report-looms-160602/
.
Possibly one of the few upsides from this (besides the apparently endless comedy aspect) is that it appears that the pompey debacle has meant that other clubs have been forced to stop using HMRC has an overdraft facility.
-
Strange, as a Cherries fan said to me "not good enough for the NPC".
Possibly an unusual instance of pompey planning ahead then?
-
You are obviously forgetting about the pompey iphone app that they have been promised...
I assume that when you have the pompey app running and shake your iphone it makes an loud irritating bell sound....

I read it as 2 charges against PS, one jointly with MM from 2010 and one from 2009. But I'm no expert in these matters, honest.
From what I've seen, Harry is being tried separately in July, but the cases may be linked, hence the current media gag.
That's what I understand as well.

Got tickets to one of the fencing finals as son currently into fencing (probably will have moved to something else by then knowing our luck!). Did put in for a lot of the 'big' events as well but not surprised not to get anything else.
Think the main mistake of the olympic organisers was to have a situation where people who could only afford to apply for one set of tickets are much less likely to have got them because other people have applied for loads and had the money to gamble they would no all come up.
If I was the olympic organisers I would have got people to rank their tickets in order of priority and to take that into account when there was a ballot for oversubscribed events (so for example you would get say 100 'ballot tickets' for your first choice event, 50 for the second, 33 for the third etc.)

is the court case still on going???
Yep, some one said it was scheduled to run for 8 weeks so don't expect a verdict for a while yet...
-
Does he not know how much he was paid then? Was it around £14,000 or almost £20,000?
14K basic, 6K image rights probably.

On what do you base this statement ?
I suspect the voices in his head told him so...

Good historical films at least stick to the main facts. By changing the dogs name and the codeword (a core piece of the story - to appease the Liberal Elite) is a disgrace.
I very much suspect that the new film about the dambusters will be far more historically accurate than the earlier version. Shall we wait and see....
-
Historical films are at their best when they are accurate.
Name me a film based on historical events that is 100% accurate?

On reading that I had a vision of tired and abused caravan's (maybe owned by someone from top gear?) be given a new life in a quiet grassy field somewhere next to a donkey sanctuary..

Storrie is not going back to Pompey any time soon. For starters, his court case is due to last 8 weeks.
I thought this thread getting to 40K threads or 2M views might coincide with the result of that case but I suspect not now.

i sent a link to one of the items on the saga asking how people pass the FPPT, and are allowed to own a British football club. I was sent back the link of their rules adding that they cannot comment on any links or posts included.
Its like dealing with FIFA, I feel that whichever football club it is they don't care as long as money is being brought in.
I feel sad that a sport that I have adored all my life is tarnished by such goings on.
I accept it is naive not to think these things are not around, and am certain in the past that our own club has been involved in unsavoury actions, but as football fans it is distasteful.
Suspect the problem is that though it is apparently well known the dodgy links between these folks and the russian mafia without proof such as the record of a conviction or the like then they can sail past the tests.

FAFPPT goes something like this.....
2006
FA: Are you real?
New Owner: Yes
FA RUBBER STAMPS DOCUMENTS.
2010:
FA: Are you real?
New Owner: Yes
FA: Are you sure?
New Owner: Yes!
FA RUBBER STAMPS DOCUMENTS.
2011:
FA: Are you real?
New Owner: Yes
FA: Are you sure?
New Owner: Yes!
FA: Are you suuuuuuuuuuuuuuure?
Now Owner: Yes!
FA RUBBER STAMPS DOCUMENTS.
I think the (or rather a) problem with the FAPPT is that its just a list of things to be checked rather than a subjective decision based on all the evidence. So its quite easy to pass the letter of the tests whilst obviously not being a FAPP. I suspect it is obvious to the league they are not FAPP but that within the constraints of their test they had to pass them.

isnt there some clause about having to pay monies back if the panels are not producing or is that a bit of scare mongering?
I assume you are referring to the 'rent a roof' schemes? For the pay for it yourself ones you pay for the install, a meter reads how much is produced and its the figure on this that determines how much you get from the government.

It depends what you want the tablet for. I have an archos 101 which is a 10.1' android tablet (review here). Yes it does use 2.2 but its not really so bad and the extra real estate of 10.1 widescreen makes web browsing/watching video's more pleasurable. You can get the 8GB one online for about 190 and the 16GB one for about 230. Going for a 3.0/3.1 android tablet will be well over 300 at the moment, Toshiba bringing out a 10.1 3.1 tablet next month which would be about 260 quid if you used the real exchange rate $/£ but will probably be more.

Basically to try and get people to install solar electric panels the government are offering a special tariff where you get paid for all the electricity you produce. Thus with the panels you get to make money 3 ways:
Special Tariff
Saving on electricity bills
Selling excess to the grid.
Of these the big money is in the special tariff which basically pays about 12 to 15% of the installation costs per year and this is guaranteed for 25 years. As its hard to get that level of guaranteed return on investments via normal investments people with the money to spare are renting other peoples roofs. The person paying for the installation gets the special tariff money and the home owner gets the free electricity (and possibly the money from selling excess to the grid but I think that usually goes to the person paying for the panels as well).
So basically if you have the money then the best idea is to not rent out your roof but to pay for the panels yourself. Not only will it pay for itself in about 8 years but the panels add to the value of your house so its often a lot less than that before you are effectively in profit.
Having our 4Kw system installed in about 2 weeks.

It does appear it is a fake. Thought it says something about the whole talent show thing that it is so believable.
-
It seems you were wrong :-(
I am never wrong
(just occasionally mistaken, completely different)

"Removed due to a claim from Simco Limited ("Syco") and Sony Music Entertainment UK Limited ("Sony")"
???
try this:
as a certain r.giggs has found out once something is on the net its almost impossible to remove all traces of it.

Leave me out of this.
I thought Michael McIntyre was supposed to be funny?
-
Applied for lots of the popular ones, assuming I would not get any, and that was indeed the case. Son into fencing so did apply for tickets for the day with several fencing finals and did get those. Knowing my luck it will go the way of his diving and he will not be interested in it at all come the day.

Don't watch Britain's got Talent personally (I have a very low cringe tolerance level) but interested to see this that appears to blow the whole scheme. What do people think? Is it true or a well worked fake?

Meanwhile back in the real world the court case continues and looks like it Milan's turn in the dock today
http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/xhibit/southwark.htm
Anyone know when arry's case is supposed to start? I think it was interfering with his plans to go on TH's preseason tour to SA so I guess it must either start fairly soon after the Peter and Milan show or possibly just overlap?
